Basick Records is ridiculously excited to welcome U.S. band Alaya to the label's growing international roster. According to a press release, Alaya "stands apart from many of today’s artists, fusing punishing technical rhythm with a genre defying soulful, melodic style."

As a band, we've waited for our entire career for someone to give us this chance, and we're going to do everything we can to make the most of it. We can't wait to hit the ground running and continue to work our collective asses off knowing now that Basick Records has got our back."

"The Invocation," the scorching, atmospheric debut LP from German classic metalsmiths Attic, is out now in Europe and will be available in North America before the INRI holiday later this month via Ván Records.
BrooklynVegan is now streaming the entire album: blare all of "The Invocation" right here. The following press release was also issued about the band:
"It’s been a busy year for Germany’s Attic. Having only formed in late 2010 through mutual interests in sinister music, horror movies and literature, spiritualism and occultism, the band self-released a debut self-titled EP, a split 7” with Walpurgis Night, and now proudly unleash a mammoth debut full-length, 'The Invocation,' all within the 2012 calendar.
"Attic's convincing, raw, classic old-school heavy metal follows a diehard path forged by traditional Mercyful Fate, Pentagram, Judas Priest and Helstar yet resounds with modern production, and is portrayed through a dark, dense atmosphere. Surging with nearly fifty minutes of this huge-sounding blend, The Invocation was recorded at The Underworld Studios and produced, mixed and mastered by Mersus (Destroyer666, Gospel of the Horns, Zarathustra), bearing cover artwork by Markus Vesper (Manilla Road, A Tortured Soul, Poison Oath, Headless Beast)." Ben Orum of All Shall Perish has checked in with the following announcement about leaving the band and joining Oblivion:
"I have given over 10 years of my blood, sweat, and tears to pursuing my dream which you all have helped fulfill. Being in All Shall Perish has been the best experience in my life, outside of being a father. While I am deeply saddened by my decision to leave the band it is necessary at this point in my life. As you know I have a family and obligation to provide for them and be here. Unfortunately, I could not fulfill my duty as a touring musician any longer.
"While I am done with touring, I will never stop writing music. I am joining the extreme metal band Oblivion as a bassist and contributing songwriter. Oblivion's debut album will be released on January 1st, 2013. We are beyond excited to unleash it onto the metal world. I've always been into death metal and extreme music, this is my return to TRUE Death Metal. What makes Oblivion unique and sets us apart from the pack is the fact that our primary songwriter is a world-renown classical composer and professor of music, Dr. Nick Vasallo. His voice gives the music a subtle refinement with the craftsmanship of the compositions. More...
Today Convulse premieres the new track "Inner Evil" through Metalsucks.net. "Inner Evil" hails from the band's EP of the same title, set for international release on January 25th, 2013 through Svart Records. Check out the song right here.

"The band features the original vocalist, guitarist, and bass player in its ranks, and Convulse's brand of classic old-school death metal still sounds like it's 1991. With a new full-length album scheduled for autumn 2013 through Svart, this is the first recorded material by Convulse since the band's demise in the mid '90s." More...
Finnish melodic death six-piece Omnium Gatherum has revealed the basic details of upcoming studio album "Beyond," the band's sixth since forming in 1996 and followup to 2011's acclaimed "New World Shadows." Lifeforce Records will release the effort on February 25th in Europe and March 5th in North America.
Omnium Gatherum enlisted the production services of longtime collaborator Teemu Aalto, while Dan Swanö mixed and mastered the recording. Former guitarist and vocalist Olli Lappalainen handled the cover art:
The tracklist is as follows:
2. New Dynamic
3. In The Rim
6. The Sonic Sign
7. Who Could Say
8. The Unknowing
9. Living In Me
10. White Palace
Guitarist Markus Vanhala chimed in with the following:
"It's now been approximately 10 years since our debut full-length album "Spirits And August Light" was released and the world was waiting. The latest 2011 album "New World Shadows" was a good breakthrough for us and lots of good things happened after that great record, so of course we had some pressure to do a decent successor, as the world was waiting again.
"Well, I think we managed to master that task and now we're back again with the OG's 6th album called "Beyond," the album that is really going beyond all limits of melodic death metal from the winter wonderland! The album follows the good known path of "New World Shadows" and "The Redshift" but adds a lot of new flavours and spices to the good ol' melting pot to lift the band to new heights. It's our most melodic and versatile album so far, but at the same time it still holds for example the most brutal death metal growls in our career yet, and also some really tasteful clean vox between the lines. I'm sure everyone who gives the album many spins can find something new with every turn, so this should be a album that holds up the sands of time and rewards the listeners who are digging deeper and searching for something more than just a one hit wonder of the day!
"Lyrically told, "Beyond" is about the culmination point of one's existence. It is a 'coming home' story where the mysteries of duality are melted into oneness but without losing one single point of individuality along the arrival. As you can see from the cover, there's also a strong sense of sea on the album, as we're the sons of the sea from Kotka!"
Unearth will begin 2013 in a big way on tour alongside Whitechapel and Emmure. The "Brothers of Brutality Tour" will begin on January 8th in Knoxville, TN and wraps up February 11th in New York, NY. Unfortunately, Unearth bassist John "Slo" Maggard will not be joining the band on the tour.
Vocalist Trevor Phipps has posted the following update: "John 'Slo' Maggard will unfortunately be sitting out the Brothers of Brutality Tour (Whitechapel, Emmure, Obey the Brave, The Plot In You) this coming January/February. His absence is simply to take care of personal matters at home and is only temporary. Slo will remain a member of Unearth moving forward and is actively involved in the writing process for our next album, which we plan to record and release some time in 2013. Luckily, our long time friend Matt DeVries (Fear Factory, ex-Chimaira) will be taking over bass duties for the tour." More...
During a tour across the U.S. Krisiun filmed a new video for "The Will To Potency," a song from latest studio album, "The Great Execution." Watch this Tarantino-esque video through No Clean Singing.com here or in the player below.
The director and producer of the video, Tommy Jones, comments: "The band had originally contacted me to do a live video on the 'Conquerors of the World Tour'. We filmed every night live, however the day before the last show of the tour, we had a day off on a drive through New Mexico towards the last show in Texas. I had the idea of filming the band out in the middle of the desert because I love that area and always wanted to do a desert shoot. So I convinced the driver to pull over in the middle of nowhere at 9AM. We filmed for about 2 and a half hours out there, using a laptop as audio playback.
"We caught the attention of the Mexican Border Patrol who came to check out what we were doing. They sent about 3 SUVs out to check us out. Once they made sure we weren't doing anything 'too illegal' they got a kick out of it and were taking pictures on their iPhones because they said in all their years, they haven't seen a band set up in the middle of the desert.
"When it was all said and done, we filmed every night on tour, but it ended up that the majority of the video was filmed on that day off in the middle of the New Mexican desert in about 2.5 hours. It was a fun video, and I'm glad we got to do it this way, we all are really stoked how the desert stuff came out."
European tour dates for Krisiun will be announced shortly, so stay tuned for an update coming soon. More...
