We've been talking to bands and fans everywhere to get their favorite mosh pit stories. This week The Carrier drummer Mike shares one with us:
"Well Rain Fest 2008 was our first fest ever, and our first ever show on the West Coast (Or Northwest, whatever). It was also the first time any of us had ever had Joose, the most unbelievable and magical malt liquor known to man. Well, I guess in the end, after about seven or eight juices, Anthony, who is bigger than most silverback gorillas, decided to mosh during Ceremony's set. It didn't take long for Anthony to knock some dude unconscious. In fact, he hit the kid so hard that the kid landed on some other people, in turn knocking all of them over as well. We don't know what happened to the guy. Hopefully he is okay. That's the power of Joose."
As previously reported, The Carrier has confirmed dates for a European tour this winter with Dead Swans (UK). The Carrier, after touring all summer, has also started working on material for a new full length record. In the meantime, check out some of their music on their MySpace player.

"We are officially announcing that Mass Burial has booked album recordings in Production Avenue studios in Sydney, which will commence on 21st of December 2009. All the waiting has finally paid off."
"The producer will be none less than Lachlan Mitchell, who earned world wide fame by producing internationally acclaimed masterpiece albums for Sydney industrial/death metal giants The Amenta and legendary Australian black metal pioneers Nazxul. Apart from being one of the best metal producers Australia has to offer, Lachlan is also pleasure to work with, and we are very much looking forward to recording with him." More...

The song is a mockery of women’s inability to give good directions with a chorus that screams “Give me the fuckin’ address! I’m using a GPS!”
“Girl Directions the song was sparked by a girl in Portland, OR who gave us terrible directions to someplace,” says vocalist Rob Kersey. “From there the song just started to take shape…. And now we’re on tour to support it as our new radio single.”
Fans of Psychostick have been acquainted with Murphy for several years since he’s one half of “Gawkman and Murph’ – the band behind The Dumb Song. The Dumb Song is often mislabeled as a Psychostick song, but it’s not.

"Hey folks! Its been a long time since we've checked in. We have been hard at work putting all the pieces together for next years plans, being that the album will be out early 2010. Until then, we will shower you all with goodies.. or feces.. you decide. I vote goodies, but that’s just me. Call me old fashioned... ANYWAYS, this Tuesday, (Dec. 1st, 2009) we will be releasing a new song on our Myspace. It comes from off the new record and is entitled 'Empathic Communicator, Part II: Beebee (Conscious Incompetence)'. The song is the 2nd chapter to a 4 part song. We have some shows coming up at the end of the month, so come check those out. We aren’t playing much till the New Year, but we are looking to get some regional dates in December, so keep checking back! So, enjoy the tunage this week, expect new video footage, as well as A LOT of new merch in the following couple weeks for shirts specifically designed after the aforementioned track. Tim Gutierrez of Project: Failing Flesh has issued the following update about recording a new album:
"Been quiet here for a good while but stuff has been progressing with the upcoming 'Count Back From Ten' album. The tracking is now finished and Kevin has started mixing as time allows. So release shouldn't be too far off. But who knows what that means in P:FF time! Eric did his vocals a few months ago before returning to France but was just recently back in North America again over the past week or so with E-Force for some Canada shows in Montreal and Toronto (supporting the mighty Sacrifice). Also within the last month Loston Harris once again made the trek to Assembly Line Studios to play / finish additional keyboards on the album. He's played on the past two albums as well so he's like the fourth member at this point. Anyway... in our opinion, all is sounding great with the album and we are anxious to get it mixed, mastered, and out there for people to finally hear. Stay tuned for updates, artwork, and sound samples."
The track listing will be as follows:

Dark Tranquillity has issued the following message:
"Right now, a mere 15 hours before planning to leave for the airport, we got informed by the promotor Unirock that the entire Turkish tour has been cancelled.
"This is incredibly frustrating for us. Turkey is the home of some of the most passionate and devoted D.T. fans on the planet, and we very much looked forward to the adventure of playing not only Istanbul but other cities as well.
"We've spent lots of time and energy preparing for these shows; rehearsing, hiring crew, fixing merchandise and working out an enormous amount of practical and logistical details, and to see it all getting cancelled in the very last minute is extremely disappointing.
"We understand that the people that planned to go to the shows will be very upset and disappointed by this news, and we want it to be crystal clear that we - the band - had no part in the cancellation.
"We hope to able to return to Turkey as soon as possible."

Quietus has issued the following statement about pulling out of Dimestock 2009:
"Mike is a BA. On this last Saturday, at our first show at the 406 Club and our last in Great Falls until next year, Mike was too fuckin metal. He woke up the following day spitting up blood and had to go to the ER. Turns out that he lacerated his vocal cords at the show. Now he is on the IR list and unable to sing for at least 3 weeks. So as much as it sucks giant balls we had to back out of Dimestock. No more shows until next year. Its a missed opportunity and something we were jacked to play, but how can you be mad at a guy who will give that much on stage? Mike's a metal motherfucker."
