Lovijatar is Finnish act combining stoner rock and pagan/folk influences. The band will release "Pimeän Tuoja" ("The Bringer of the Dark") via Inverse Records and Secret Entertainment on November 22nd, 2013. Inverse comments:
"The line-up of Lovijatar consists from crew known from bands like Battlelore, Elephant Bell, and Boner.
"The lyrical inspirations comes from Finnish epic folklore Kalevala and old Finnish poetry. Melodic ideas come partially from traditional Karelian keens of requiems (itkuvirsi) that have been recorded at the beginning of the 1900's when the last traditional folk singers were still alive."
Guitarist Rautio comments: "I feel that we must do music in finnish because it is our mother language and if really want to evoke emotion we can not do it in another languages. We have lost lots of old Finnish culture and it is best preserved in folk poetry. That’s the only place where we can really go and find something ancient from our heritage."

"Electric Mountain Majesty" was riffed out and recorded in about 15 minutes. Shawn and I did a demo of it and when i sat down and started to work on it the next day i realized that the drum track on this demo was killer! It had all of the fire and expression that Shawn would have live. I tracked the guitars and performed the vocals over the course of the next day and here it is. Our love for heavy rock, metal, and melody all come together in this tune."
"Electric Mountain Majesty" was recorded at HeavyHead Recording Co. in Port Orchard, Wash. and was produced, mixed and mastered by T. Dallas Reed. Track listing for "Electric Mountain Majesty" is as follows:

TFN TOUR: Night 1
After a long journey we finally made it to Berlin. Last night we had a German feast at the Hofbräu München. The atmosphere was traditionally German (derrr!) and amazing! There was a trad German trio punching out the hits of a bygone era. Ro and I ordered the meat platter, with every colour from the pork rainbow, with sauerkraut, and gelatinous potato, that would bounce like a superball if you threw it. It was awesome, and we both struggled to finish it. While eating, the dance floor became crowded, and the participants were having a ball, including some buxom waitresses' (I wonder if they get paid for that? They should!). Everybody knew every word, singing, clapping, and dancing with abandon, and it was great to watch! We left for the hotel soon after, where I crashed pretty hard. Great night!
