Arkhum's Stephen Parker has issued the following update about his solo project The Will Of A Million:
"Greetings to all! I'm here with an update that's only slightly related to Arkhum, but still very important to me!
"If you are unaware of the fact that I have a 'solo' project then here's a history lesson! Back in 2007 I decided I wanted to make music that was different than Arkhum. It's called The Will Of A Million and I refrain from pegging it into any specific genre, because I like to do whatever the fuck I like. I've released one electronic demo that kinda resembled a terrible Ulver and an even worse Burzum.
"It was bad.
"Anyway, long story short...I recorded an album...mixed and mastered it, and now it's ready for release! It comes out next month on Glossolalia Records and will be available worldwide! Below I've included a new track from the album, so give it a listen! I hope you dig it!"
It was announced yesterday that Stray From The Path flipped it's tour van while on the road in Wyoming. The band has now checked in with the following update about the situation:
"Thank you all so much for your concern and support. We will not ask you for any money or handouts because we know times are tough. People are making benefit t-shirts for us where proceeds will go towards new transportation. If you picked these up, that would be amazing. Seriously thank you to Sumerian records, crimson management, 518 prints, upstate Merch, Terror and the Acacia strain. Over whelmed with support for us, our people have our backs during our darkest moment. Thank you from us all.
"So far 1 of my guitars work, my pedals work, our bass works, our drums are fine and Our bass head is broken. Checking the rest of our gear tonight. Doing the next week of touring in a rented mini van. Good to alive, but this shit is insane."
Nonpoint has checked in with the following announcement about splitting with the band's bassist and guitarist:
"After years of performing together, Nonpoint have confirmed that the band will be moving on without the service of guitarist Zach Broderick and founding member bassist Ken MacMillan.
"Founding members frontman Elias Soriano and drummer Robb Rivera will continue writing with new members for the forthcoming new Nonpoint album, which is slated for a 2012 summer release. Ken and Zach are currently involved in a new project that will be announced within the immediate future. Both parties wish to thank their fans for their continued support over the years. Please stay tuned for further announcements shortly."
A later post from the band via Facebook also reads:
"We want to thank all of you for your amazing comments regarding our current situation . Elias and I (Robb) have been working hard on new music with the newest chapter of the band. We are 21 songs deep into the record with this new lineup and we will not disappoint you. We did not expect for this to go easy in any way, shape or form. We understand that fans of certain bands get attached to members of said bands but unfortunately times change. Nonpoint will continue with new people, thank you for your support and see you very soon. New album out on Razor & Tie coming Spring of 2012"

Danzig played a short set at Fun Fun Fest on November 4th, 2011. The ex-Samhain/Misfits crooner scheduled an hour-and-a-half set of Danzig, Misfits and Samhain material, but only played two Misfits songs. On Fun Fun Fun Fest's Facebook page, Graham Williams, the festival booker, comments on what may be the concert fiasco of the year
"Hi. I book the fest. Those that are hating could NOT be more wrong. Yes, someone has your money and ripped you off. His name is Glenn. Stop by his house in LA with some kitty litter in trade for your refund, but we still had to pay him and he didn’t deserve it after what he pulled. Here is how it went down…check the timeline:
-Glenn flies in this morning and says he has a cold and doesn't feel like playing the show. he demands french onion soup and vitamins brought to his hotel suite. He wants soup now and wants it hot. We get it.
-Glenn says it's freezing in Austin and he can't go on. He says it's going to be 28 degrees tonight and he won't perform (keep in mind, it's currently 71 and sunny with a night forecast of maybe 50+). He says we have to move the show/festival inside if we want him to play (obviously, that's not possible).
-We rent stage heaters (no other bands--Public Enemy, MCD, Passion Pit, etc need or want heaters on stage...it's warm up there and not cold out) for Glenn per demand, as well as bring in an onsite doctor to make him happy and be there if his cold doesn't go away.
-Agents and managers assure us he's going to play now.
-Glenn's band/crew arrive before him in the afternoon and load gear. They said it all works, they get up the Danzig banner, check lights and are happy.
-Glenn arrives at 7:45 (half hour before showtime, they go on at 8:15 exactly and have a 90 min. set...park curfew by the city/police is 10 PM sharp)...when he arrives, he says he's not going to play. (He) Says he doesn't like how the banners are hung on stage and doesn't like the lighting or stage size (all this was advanced in email and phone well in advance and the band/crew loaded in mid day and were happy with it and said it would work...stage wasn't small at all). He wouldn't leave his trailer to go look at the stage, though, so the lighting company drew up specs for him to look at of the stage lighting 50 feet from his trailer and brought it to him to look over and prove him wrong. Dunlop TV has posted a video interview online with Opeth's Fredrik Akesson, which can be viewed below. The interviewer also commented:
"Oh man! Opeth at the Warfield in San Francisco! Fredrick takes us onstage to check out his gear including picks, strings, amps, guitars, and effects. He also shreds it up for us. Then he tells us some very metal stories about tequila parties and cleaning up after corpses. I don't know... it's crazy. Nobody else gives it to you like this. Remember that, and check it out."
Footage was also recently posted online of Opeth and Katatonia coming together on stage to perform a Bloodbath track. You can check out the clip here.

Mike Divine of Violent Divine has checked in with the following announcement about lineup changes within the band:
"I guess I should have seen it coming when the band stopped bothering about wearing make up on stage and Gus no longer performed without wearing a shirt. Violent Divine as we know it disbanded in early September 2011 after some 6 years, 3 albums and lots of great shows.
"No reasonable explanation really but I guess we all had priorities set on real life issues for quite some time. I, Mike Divine, was left with the choice of continuing making Divine music as a solo artist using the brand Violent Divine – or trying to reform the Divine with new family members. After a month of soul searching I decided I didn’t want to pursue a solo effort. Ruling that option out, I started to advertise for new band members.
"A month later the band is re-grouped with drummer Magnus, bassist Oscar and guitarist Peter, a new rehearsal room and new songs are already being penned, while waiting for the first rehearsal to take place. The new family members are all great musicians adding old and new musical influences to the band and I’m very much looking forward to work with my new Divine family.
"This blog will display, in words, images, song and video clips, the journey towards a new album and new shows. Hold on to your hats – hold on to your hearts."
Start a Fire has checked in with the following update about working on songs to appear on an new EP:
"Road to Perfection..... A long and uphill road indeed, but the many hours of working with the songs are starting to pay off. In fact we have decided to add a 4th song to the new EP, a really powerful-old-school-gothenburg kind of tune, that we hope we'll manage to perfect in the 2 weeks remaining before recording!
"The many hours we've been working on the songs has also brought us closer as a band, not only working the songs but also how to promote Start a Fire and because we are so goddamn good-looking and generous we've decided to show up at various gigs in Gothenburg and hand out one of our EPs to the people attending!
"There will be a realease-party when the new EP's finished and further information about the location, tickets and supportbands will show up in this blog. As things look right now it will be in February.
"Pour some sugar on me!"
