Norway's Den Saakaldte has issued the following statement about the Black Winter Festival being postponed to an as-yet-determined date in the future:
"We are displeased to announce that the Black Winter Festival in Mexico has been postponed for February due to Mexico government regulations. Den Saakaldte cannot confirm any participation at this point as no new exact date has been given to the band."
Slash and Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas released a video to their song Beautiful Dangerous. Here’s a recap from my initial viewing:
The song starts with Fergie, looking very slutty rolling around her bed, inside a trashed apartment. There are pill bottles everywhere and Slash is playing guitar on the television. She moves to the television, straddles it, and fucks the TV. After, Fergie decides to shower and change into “going out” clothes. Interesting note is that her going out clothes may be more slutty than the panty/rip shirt combo she was initially rolling around (and fucking the television) in. Time passes, Fergie is now out. She is in the audience while Slash performs on stage AND also at a strip club. The only way I believe this is possible is that Fergie is playing a Hooker superhero and her special power is looking slutty in two places at once. Side note: This is my new favorite superhero. Eventually she meets Slash in the strip-club and spikes his drink. Next scene Slash is tied up back at the trashed apartment and is being dry humped by Fergie. While simulating sex Fergie removes Slash’s hat (a definite no-no) and puts it on. Of course the guitarist is helpless so all he can do is allow Fergie to continue to hump him while wearing his hat. Then, logically, she pulls out a knife and cuts him across his chest. My overall impression is that despite being drugged and slashed this still has to be considered a pretty good day for Slash… More...

Peter Tägtgren of the metal band Pain has issued the following update:
"What the hell is going on?! Well… It’s been a while since the last update and we thought it was about time to let you in on a couple of things."
"The last couple of months every one of us has been pretty busy with anything but PAIN. As you may know Peter has been concentrating on Hypocrisy this year and recently came home from a successful tour in South America. David, who just got signed up with Zildjian, is working for Unique Pyrotechnic along with doing a lot of different stand-in club shows in Sweden. Johan became a dad in August (best wishes from us all), and the more time spent away from PAIN means the more time spent with his family. Michael is working with different side projects along with his work for Digidesign."
"Now, the following months will be dedicated to PAIN and to finish the new songs. Up till today 8 songs are more or less ready to go, and at least 3 or 4 more are needed before we can start recording. Our plans are to start the recordings in late 2010 or early 2011, and have the album ready for a world wide release sometime in May 2011. After that we’re about to hit the road and do as many of the summer festivals as we can. Of course there will be a headline tour as well, and if everything works out we’ll even break new grounds. Work has also begun with designing a new stage set that will be something out of the average." More...

Kuwait-based metal band Benevolent have just released their debut EP titled "Divided," which features five tracks. "Divided" can be downloaded fully for free for a month from the band's Bandcamp page.
Fadi Sarieddine, band co-founder and lead vocalist, added, "It was such a great experience! Just looking back at how these songs slowly came to life is such a great feeling! I really feel that we got to experience and learn so much about ourselves as musicians and as people through out this process...and it's just great to be on the other side with everything done. I hope that listeners enjoy this record as much as we enjoyed putting it together!"
Pre-production took place at the band's home recording studio. Hadi Sarieddine, band co-founder, comments, "I like to come in to the studio with a game plan. I have to get to know the song before going in to record the final product so that I know what sort of sounds need to go on there, and just generally be able to pay attention to the very little details in my own personal space. I think the process worked out great!"

Season of Mist commented on the new album:
"130 musicians were involved in the recording process. Besides the traditional classic orchestra instruments, this time Septicflesh incorporated harpsichord, some bizarre ethnic instruments and a boy soprano to their sound, pursuing a more 'horror soundtrack' approach. Of course, the guitars will still shred you to death!

"The record, which is limited to 1,000 copies, is due out December 10 through Winnipeg's War on Music Records. The label will be taking pre-orders on their website in a couple of weeks. For the time being, you can email them directly at email@example.com to place a pre-order. WATAIN will begin their US tour, starting in Pittsburgh, on Saturday, November 6, and sweep through 24 cities before drawing to a close on December 4 in Toronto. Support will come from Goatwhore and Black Anvil. Confirmed dates below.
This will mark WATAIN's first time touring North America as a five-piece. Commented vocalist E, "Getting the whole band into the U.S. has always been a somewhat problematic issue, due to criminal records and related nonsense. This time we've at least managed to get five people in, although we had to find a temporary replacement for our brother Set, who is still denied entrance into the 'Land of the Free.' Instead we've invited SL from The Devil's Blood to handle the second guitar on this tour. The past month in Europe has nourished the fires of our Temple indeed, and it is with increased power and victory in our hearts that we leave the European shores in flames and set our sails towards the west. Beware..."
Added Set on being denied Stateside entry, "It is with great disappointment -- but with little surprise -- that I am once again denied entry into the States. That's one of the small prices to pay being a sworn enemy of their world. It feels wrong to not be able to join this tour, even more so after just returning from the most intense five weeks of our Reaping Death tour with Destroyer 666. On the other hand, I honestly couldn't ask for a better replacement in this (or any other) situation than SL, whose talent and vision within the sinister musical Craft is undeniable. America, I'll see you soon enough...FTW!" More...

Reactivated San Francisco Bay Area thrashers Forbidden are set to embark on their first tour in 15 years, this time as direct support to Overkill. Immediately proceeding the trek the band will continue on their own headlining tour with Evile, Gamma Bomb, and Bonded By Blood.
"It's been 15 years since Forbidden has actually toured in North America," commented Craig Locicero. "That blows my fucking mind to say it! The funny thing is that even when we did tour here, we never properly did it. It was always a very short cycle with little or no support from the labels. Well, times have changed and so has Forbidden's situation. With Nuclear Blast having our backs and properly promoting and supporting Omega Wave, I feel a sense of hope for this band that we have never felt before. Strange feeling, really. But we will take it.
"Our goal is to get better every night and eventually become the live band that we never got to be. That takes dedication and a lot of hard work. We're digging in committing to just that. We hope our fans will appreciate us as much as we appreciate them. See you all on the road soon!"
