Nile, the reigning kings of technical historically-themed brutality, has posted a music video online for “Enduring the Eternal Molestation of Flame" online, which is available below.
The clip was produced and directed by Jon Simvonis for Magnum Production Studios Co. and Arctos Broadcast Facilities. It also features the African Heritage group and photography by Philippos Kokkalis.
“It was truly an honor to direct the new Nile video; a band with so many diehard fans and such a strong impact in the metal scene,” commented Simvonis. “The video concept, as a matter of fact, was inspired by the culture and the ritual habits of the Ancient Nubia, a region along the Nile River, which is located in northern Sudan and Southern Egypt. The research and design elements of the video led to a really interesting combination of the Ancient Egyptian myths, through the prism of the Nubian African Voodoo Burial rituals. Two worlds set so close, yet so far from each other.” More...

Nuclear Blast also commented on the video clip: "What usually requires long days of shooting with countless takes was made in Chile in an afternoon 'First Take.' The result is pure emotion! Like hardly any other clip it captures the magic between the band, fans and live performance.
"The video was shot spontaneously at the start of the Tour during the sound check. It was only the second show with singer Nic Maeder and is the fastest video shoot of the band's history. The director from South America only needed one run-through. The film was shot in Chile, home of creative TV talent. In addition to the band, two known South American actors can be seen, the only 25-year-old Leon Bravo and the 24-year-old Paula Pardo." More...
Nuclear Blast Records has issued the following announcement about Hardcore Superstar releasing a new album:
"The Swedish inventors of what is known and loved today as 'Street Metal' are happy to announce the release of a new album via Nuclear Blast in early 2013! The record is entitled 'C’mon Take On Me,' was produced by the band, mixed by no less a figure than Randy Staub (METALLICA, MÖTLEY CRÜE, THE CULT) and will be out on the 1st of March 2013."
The band comments on the recording process: “We found this cool abandoned studio that we took over, where we spent the entire summer tracking songs in between the shows. Speaking of shows – we’ll start rehearsing in January so that we’ll be ready to play live everywhere again soon. If there’s a stage, we’ll rock it!!!”
Stay tuned for further news on the new record and upcoming touring activities.

Southern California's No Bragging Rights has debuted a brand new video for the single "Repeater" today, which can be viewed below.
Directed by veteran director Josh Knoff (As I Lay Dying, Asking Alexandria), NBR offers support for our country's men and women enlisted in the armed forces and the struggles they deal with upon returning home. Lead singer Mike Perez offers his thoughts: "I'm happy but not just because it's my favorite track off the album, but because of the message behind it. Also, I'm glad we went the soldier route. I don't think people understand the emotional strain some of them have to deal with when returning back to normal life." More...
Assassin will release the band's first DVD "Chaos and Live Shots" this coming January 29th via Steamhammer/SPV. The band also issued the following press release:
"Blood and gore all over the place, smelly feet in a car with closed windows, and as if that wasn't enough, there are roadies crawling through grotty attics, interspersed with wild parties, plenty of drugs and tons of alcoholic beverages - somehow you can't make up your mind which of these countless choleric excesses of a wonderfully and thoroughly uncivilised cohabitation you'd most like to have been a part of.
"Thrash metal act Assassin were there all the way, which is why they will probably be the last survivors of the human race when Planet Earth plunges - as predicted - into the abyss this coming winter. Mind you: should Armageddon really materialise, they at least had a good time. Where? In Frankfurt and Hagen, in Lichtenfels and Bochum, in Hamburg, Berlin, Munich, but also ... wait for it! ... in Osaka (!). March 2010 saw eight cameras witness Assassin conquer that Japanese city, pulling out all the stops at the True Thrash Fest.
"Not only were Assassin's two shows caught on camera, but also the every-day madness this chaos squad lives with. So should the world not come to an end after all, you will be able to watch all this and much more on double DVD, out January 29th in North America on Steamhammer/SPV. Chaos and Live Shots is the title of that footage (which is anything but confidential), presenting a thoroughly anarchistic band.
"Well how about this one: why is guitarist Michael Hoffmann pulled across the poker table like that? Or: why does drummer Björn Sondermann smash up his ... hmm ... well-kept Honda van? Why do the phones of the other band members ring all the time so they can't ever seem to get down to some serious meditation? And why does this damn mobile have to ring when they'd much rather cheer on their favourite football team, Fortuna Düsseldorf, at the stadium? More...
Prosthetic Records is proud to announce the signing of experimental metallers Nero Di Marte. The label comments:
"Founded in Bologna, Italy in 2007, Nero Di Marte will unveil their long-awaited self-titled release, a unique and experimental approach to structure, sound and atmosphere, in the spring of 2013. You can check out a teaser video of the new album below.
"Nero di Marte is the Italian name of a pigment, an iron oxide that produces a deep, dark, intense black that, when in contact with other colors, can permanently coat or noticeably transform them. Formerly known as Murder Therapy, the band signed to Dutch label Deity Down Records to release their debut 'Symmetry of Delirium' in 2009, which showcased a very personal style of modern death metal. They have played numerous shows and festivals around Italy and Europe, including performances with major acts such as Cynic, Decapitated, The Ocean, Intronaut, Ulcerate, Svart Crown, Red Fang, Jucifer, The Secret and more. The group also performed at the prestigious Neurotic Deathfest in Tilburg (NL) with Carcass, Immolation, Six Feet Under, Napalm Death, Bolt Thrower and Origin among many others.
"The band’s broadened approach to songwriting was already audible in the 2010 self-released EP 'Molochian,' which marked a stylistic step forward towards more progressive and atmospheric compositions. The following year, the group entered the studio to work on their new album. It was recorded in roughly nine days at Regrexion Studios with Michele Trasforini and then mixed and mastered at Studio73 in Ravenna with producer Riccardo “Paso” Pasini (Ephel Duath, The Secret, Extrema, At the Soundawn). Xtreem Music is more than proud to announce a new agreement with Finnish deathsters Desecresy, who have re-inked a new deal to see their next albums released on what has been their home label since Desecresy's inception. Xtreem Music comments:
"Desecresy whose debut album 'Arches of Entropy' was released in November 2010, has been building a reputation on their own as one of the heaviest and most interesting Death Metal bands to come out from Finland in the recent years.
"Even though their debut album was well received, that was nothing compared to their sophomore release 'The Doom Skeptron' in June 2012, which got nothing but superb reactions everywhere, being hailed as one of the best Death Metal releases of the year.
"The band is currently working on their 3rd full length album, although there's no exact plans for its recording, but could be expected by the end of 2013. Follow Desecresy through their official Facebook here."
The Swedish heavy metal blood brothers in Enforcer recently signed a new worldwide record deal with Nuclear Blast Records. The new album is titled "Death By Fire" and will be released on February 1st, 2013.
Bandleader, vocalist and guitar player Olof Wikstrand comments: "It feels great to finally have finished this long awaited third Enforcer record. Now with Nuclear Blast on board we're gonna make sure to spread it to every corner of this planet. You can expect nothing but the total, self defining Enforcer record."
Nuclear Blast head of A&R, Andy Siry says: "We’ve been following the career of Enforcer since their debut album, because from there on, they formed the spearhead of a new, young generation of traditionally influenced metal. We’re impressed by the bands consequent and authentic appearance, whether on stage, concerning their sound, their image and so on. This reminds of the atmosphere of departure and the rebellion, heavy metal represented at the beginning of the 80’s. Enforcer have got that special something, represent their ideals and they know what they want. We’re looking forward to the upcoming CD and a long successful cooperation.”
Metallica announced today that the band has taken ownership of all previous master recordings including all music and long form videos, a move almost unprecedented for musicians signed to recording contracts. Under provision of a renegotiated joint venture agreement with the Warner Music Group in 1994, all masters revert back to the band as of today, November 30th, 2012.
"We would like to thank everyone at the Warner Music Group for 28 years of a fantastic relationship, particularly since 1994 where we truly felt we had partners in every aspect of our business in North America," said the band's James Hetfield.
Metallica also announced the launch of its own new record label, Blackened Recordings. Blackened Recordings will handle all marketing and promotion duties and will enter into a deal with Rhino Entertainment, who will manufacture and distribute releases in North America. Blackened Recordings will license releases to the Universal Music Group internationally.
"It's always been about control for us as a band," said Metallica's Lars Ulrich. "Forming Blackened Recordings is the ultimate in independence, giving us 100% control and putting us in the driver's seat of our own creative destiny."
The first release from Blackened will be "Quebec Magnetic" on Monday, December 10th, 2012. "Quebec Magnetic" is a live DVD capturing the two World Magnetic live shows from Quebec City in the fall of 2009. The set list for the DVD was voted on by over 35,000 fans at Metallica.com this past September. Fans can order it from the band's website here.
