It's a little emotional, of course, but I think it's going to be really, really cool and I think it's gonna be a really, really great record because everyone's really involved in the process."
Jordison says he and the group's other members are demoing material for the follow-up to 2008's "All Hope is Gone," and though no firm timetable has been established he expects Slipknot to united in studio during the first half of 2011.

This week’s episode begins with Bret in Indianapolis on the Bob and Tom radio show. The discussion begins light, discussing Michaels' health, then gets serious when they bring up the song “Talk Dirty To Me” and its place as a strip club anthem. Interesting, this got me pondering some of Poison’s music. Is it possible Poison isn’t only the strongest top 5 strip club songs, but also top 5 B-side strip club songs? Let’s take a closer look. We've been talking to bands and fans everywhere to get their favorite mosh pit stories. This week John Conley, lead guitarist of New York doom metal band Moth Eater, shares a couple that demonstrate how drinking stories and pit stories sometimes go hand in hand:
The ONLY thing I've ever won in life... free tickets to see Godsmack play a lunch time set for K-Rock radio at CBGB's. It was around the time of their 1st record. It was supposed to be a big deal or something. Stuttering John was the emcee... or something... I ended up going to the show with my buddy the Drunken Monkey. The band didn't start playing 'til after 1 but we were drinking as soon as they started serving. By the time they started playing there were all sorts of jackholes jumping around. I'm a bit fuzzy but I remember wearing my Skinless hoodie and throwing windmills between drinks. Good times with the Drunken Monkey for sure... and yes, Godsmack sucked.
Here's another one for a more positive experience:
I was drunk off my ass before getting to the show. Always a good way to start the night. It was Slayer at the Roseland Ballroom in NYC. I've seen Slayer so many times I forget who was opening. Might have been Meshuggah? I just don't remember. Anyhow, I was so lit that as soon as Slayer started I handed my friend my coat and went barreling to the front. I was throwing fuckers and getting thrown. By the end of the show I was spitting distance from the stage trying to get my hands on a Hanneman guitar pick. No hangover the next day but damn were my shoulders sore!
Check back every Tuesday for more pit stories.

"In other news, we recorded some new songs last month and one of them (Louisiana Pit) can be listened to, at our myspace. Also, the compilation album is in the prints! (finally...) So anyone who has been asking about CD's, now is the time to get one! The album will be also available at the DBF tour shows. See you on the road!"

Thomas Giles Rogers, vocalist and keyboardist of Between the Buried and Me, is set to release his debut solo album "Pulse" on February 1st, 2011 through Metal Blade Records. Thomas Giles self-produced the record, which was recorded with Jamie King at The Basement Studios in Winston-Salem, NC.
"Creating this album was a very unique experience for me," comments Rogers. "I honestly never thought I would get a lot of this music recorded. This record was a way for me to step back, focus on simplified song structures and really build off of melodies. Even though I love fucking my throat up by screaming, it was very nice to sit back and chill out a bit. I named the record 'Pulse' because it is a collection of thoughts and experiences I've had through the years. It's a very personal record and I hope the songs help people evaluate their lives and make the best of their time here. Find your pulse.
"I hope everyone enjoys this record, as I feel there is something for everyone on it. And don't you all worry; BTBAM is writing new material as I type. We have a very busy year 2011 planned which includes lots of new music and touring. Stay tuned."

Norwegian metal outfit Susperia has been confirmed as Norway's entry into the Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place in Germany on May 14th next year. They will be joined at the performance by former Dimmu Borgir keyboardist, Mustis.
Says Susperia frontman Athera: "We are not afraid to lose credibility, a competition needs variation. We know how good our music is, with great melodies, energy and hooks in the songs. With this in mind, we want to let the big masses discover our music, and enjoy our hidden treasures.
"It has been a new gift for me and very inspiring to gather with Susperia. Since Elvorn and I established our first band in 1995 as kids, then meeting Memnock and knowing Tjodalv from my early days in Dimmu Borgir, it felt very natural to sit down and start to be creative again together with my old friends. I don't think keyboard is for just any kind of metal band or band in general, but Susperia have the open mind for this and the right elements for sure, and we agree that something really good can come out of this. We made a killer song together that`s going to be performed at the Norwegian Eurovision!! I really can't wait to perform again with a band that in a very dynamic way lift each other’s instruments and Atheras amazing vocals all together."
UPDATE: We've received word that the band first needs to participate in "Melodi Grand-Prix" Norwegian national selection and win this competition to represent the country in the Eurovision Song Contest. We are awaiting clarification from the band on whether or not that is the case.

We are hoping to be able to reschedule these, but have no fixed dates at this time to be able to do so, hence this being a cancellation rather than keeping all tickets valid.
