I The Breather toured relentlessly in support of the debut full-length album, "These Are My Sins," alongside a variety of acts such as Oceano, For The Fallen Dreams, Upon A Burning Body and Close Your Eyes.
The band spent the last few months writing for a sophomore album and will kick off next year on a massive North American tour alongside August Burns Red. Head over to the band's Facebook profile to check out all tour dates and studio reports.
Morgan (drums) comments on preparing to record the new album, "We will be entering the studio on November 4th with producers Paul Leavitt and Taylor Larson. We are so very excited to be working with them. The record is currently in the pre-production stages and I am beyond happy with the direction the music is taking. The new songs feature a lot of technical drumming and dual guitar work, but it's very listenable at the same time. This disc offers a lot to the listener musically and vocally. On the last album we stuck to using one tempo and it was very one-dimensional. This new one will offer a ton more and I’m proud of that. I feel as though it’s a huge progression.
“This January we will be embarking on August Burns Red’s North American headlining tour. The package consists of great bands such as letlive. Texas In July and Silverstein. When we received the offer for this tour we immediately jumped on it, this is the tour we’ve been wanting for quite sometime. We are very close with ABR and TIJ and it’s going to be a blast to tour the states with those bands. We will play a couple of new songs on this tour, as well as release the new album during this time. We’re all very excited for this coming year and there is no better way to start it. We hope to see you all soon.”
Hummingbird of Death has teamed up with Titanarum to release a split LP through Give Praise Records. You can stream the entire release through Bandcamp or via the player after the jump, and the artwork is also available below.
A trio of progressive metal enigmas, all core and founding members of technical act Zero Hour, have formed a brand new outfit called Abnormal Thought Patterns and are about to unleash their recently-recorded debut EP.
The group was formed by Northern California-based brothers Jasun and Troy Tipton (both also of Cynthesis) and Mike Guy (Zero Hour). In order to complete the live sound, the trio recruited longtime friend and guitarist Richard Sharman.
Together these four musicians have created a blazing self-titled debut EP, which will see release on November 29th via the band's own, newly-formed CynNormal Lab Recordings. The four-part epic "Velocity and Acceleration" and bass-only track "Ulnar Nerve Damage" were mixed by talented producer/engineer Dino Alden (Marty Friedman, Zero Hour), but due to Dino's carpal surgeries the band reached out to Matt LaPlant (Sikth, Nonpoint) to mix the tracks "The Machine Within" and "Electric Sun". The EP was mastered by Alan Douches (Between The Buried and Me, The Dillinger Escape Plan) and the cover artwork commissioned to Erick "Wurm" Pollard. Check out a teaser for the release below.
The track listing is as follows:
1. The Machine Within
2. Velocity and Acceleration Movement 1
3. Velocity and Acceleration Movement 2
4. Velocity and Acceleration Movement 3
5. Velocity and Acceleration Movement 4
6. Ulnar Nerve Damage
7. Electric Sun
Dead metal act Bukowski Family has posted a "Back to the Basement" teaser trailer online, which can be viewed below. The band also commented:
"Brutal metal with a soupcon of death, dash of grindcore and just of hint of rot. Bukowski Family case history is marred with such atrocities as cannibalism, perverted human dismemberment, general unpleasantness and musical ruthless massacre. Brace yourselves to see everything you deem precious torn apart and dragged out to the backyard to be burned in a stinking pile of waste. If it is holy to someone, it surely can be defiled."
After a lengthy period teeming with myriad personal and professional struggles, influential Bay Area thrashers Testament dropped an atomic depth charge known as "The Formation Of Damnation" through Nuclear Blast records in 2008. Their ninth studio album, it was a commercial and critical smash hit that mopped the floor with pretenders and cemented one of the most powerful comebacks in recent music history. It also officially reunited the (almost) classic lineup of frontman Chuck Billy, guitarists Eric Peterson and Alex Skolnick, and bassist Greg Christian - with the new addition of drummer Paul Bostaph.
After more than three years of successful touring with some of metal's biggest and best names, Testament is hard at work on their followup Nuclear Blast effort, due out sometime next spring. However, this hasn't stopped them from hitting the road across North America with veteran thrash comrades Anthrax and Death Angel. It was from this tour that band founder Eric Peterson took time to fill in Metal Underground.com with - among other things - some details on the highly anticipated new album, the cryptically titled "The Dark Roots Of Earth." Florida based Christian metal act Sacrificed has signed on with Roxx Records and Divine Metal Distribution for the release of the band's upcoming third album aptly entitled "III." Roxx Records commented on the album:
"'III' will see the band continue to grow and expand upon that signature sound that their fans have grown to love on their previous efforts '2012' and 'The Da Vinci Hoax'.
"The cover art of 'III' is very simple, yet very powerful representing not only the title of the band's third effort, but 'III' is a symbol and representation of the three nails that pierced the hands and feet of Jesus Christ. The band has never been afraid of controversy our what the mainstream may think as you can tell from this cover and as you will see when you begin to explore the music and message of this brand new album from The Sacrificed! Read on to see what Jules has to say about the passion that sets musicians apart, what Sisu is and why we should take a page out of the Finn's book, and also what makes Profane Omen such a damn good act. After the track was completed, the band went directly into shooting a music video for the single, which was premiered earlier this week and can be seen here.
Now Tesseract is giving the song "Eden" away for free as a download. "We're really happy with how Eden 2.0 turned out, and as a gift to all of our wonderful friends we'd like to share it with you guys for free, as a token of our appreciation for your support over the last few years." Says bassists Amos Williams. "We had always wanted to revisit 'Eden' and Elliot joining our fold gave us the perfect opportunity to do such a thing. Texas is as brutal in the literal sense as it is in the metal sense. The heat is oppressive, the politicians are extreme, and the Tex-Mex food can get pretty damn spicy.
