Swedish death metallers HYPOCRISY have issued the following statement in regards to their upcoming tour with ENSIFERUM that starts on Friday, November 6th:
“Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are forced to stay home until U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services process and authorize our working visas. This is the first time the band has faced a situation like this and it’s extremely frustrating, as well as depressing, since the last thing we want to do is disappoint our loyal fans who have waited years to see us live in the US. We filed for our visas with plenty of time, but as some probably don’t know, the US government has changed its rules when it comes to visas issued to artists so it’s become tougher. Even if we have already toured the US numerous times.
As it stands now, we are on stand-by mode and waiting to receive the green light. We hope it’s just a few days before that happens, in the meantime we want to apologize to all the fans that planned on going to see us tear shit up live. We will do our best to re-join the tour as soon as possible!”
HYPOCRISY have enlisted the help of CHILDREN OF BODOM guitarist/frontman Alexi Laiho to temporarily fill the vacant second guitarist spot on their tour alongside ENSIFERUM, HYPOCRISY, EX DEO, BLACKGUARD, SWASHBUCKLE. More...
Acclaimed post-hardcore heavy rockers Norma Jean has signed with Razor & Tie and is planning a 2010 album release. The band will headline the "Explosions 2009" US tour in late November through December. Norma Jean will play their breakthrough album "Bless The Martyr and Kiss the Child" in its entirety on select dates. This is the band's first headlining trek since the Fall of last year and boasts an impressive lineup of Horse The Band, The Chariot and Arsonists Get All The Girls.
In January Norma Jean will head into the studio to record a new album for a 2010 summer release.
Cory Brandan of Norma Jean comments, "If we didn't sign to Razor & Tie, I think we would have gone on a killing spree, with no regard for life or limb. I think for the first time in our career, upon presenting our ideas, we get to hear the word "yes" more often. It's like discovering an unknown tribe on a distant island. Except we're the tribe and we don't know your language. Plus we have spears and swords and we're cannibals. Either way, we're insanely animated about R&T showing up and want to try on their Nike Air Jordans."
Here are the latest Norma Jean tour dates with Horse The Band, The Chariot and Arsonists Get All The Girls: More...

Keyboardist Bobby Williamson of Eumeria has issued the following update about acquiring a new session bassist to fill in while recording new material:
"Due to an unfortunate injury to Eumeria bassist, Shawn Kascak's hand, the band has chosen Derek Blakley (Haji's Kitchen, Thought Chamber) to fill in on bass to help finish up the Eumeria recordings. We wanted to wait and see if Shawn's hand would heal fast enough to continue the tracking. However, we felt it wasn't worth the risk of causing more long term issues for him and important to move forward with the production of the album. Derek and I were both bandmates in Thought Chamber's debut, 'Angular Perceptions', which was released on InsideOut / SPV in 2007. If you listen to that album, you'll realize Derek is quite a beast on the bass.
"Shawn was able to squeeze out 2 songs bass, so he will indeed be on the album. We wish Shawn a speedy recovery, and are confident he'll be with us on the Triton Power Cruise show coming up at the end of April as we'll be a support act for Everygrey. Aside from that, the album is almost finished and we'll be showing it to labels very soon."

Joey Eppard of 3 has issued the following announcement about finishing the recording of a new music video for the song "Rabid Animals:"
"Hey all, we've had an incredible couple of weeks. It started with the making of the video for Rabid Animals which evolved into an interactive shoot on day 1 where the fans could comment in real time and influence the direction of the video. On Day 2 we invaded Saugerties and got everyone we could to foam at the mouth for the camera. From cops to chefs to store clerks, beauticians, to the grand finale of an entire bar full of people all foaming at once, everyone went the extra mile for this video. And of course we got lots of great videos from our friends and fans as well. A Huge Thanks to you all!!!! We should have the final cut very soon but meanwhile you can check out some of the mayhem from day 1 at this location.
"Were also discussing the possibility of a live streamed interactive concert where we will perform and you can influence the set in real time! This would be a great way to reach many of our fans spread out across the world at once. Let us know what you think of this idea!"
Guitarist Justin Stubbs of Father Befouled has issued the following statement about drummer Antichristus taking his own life:
"They say only Death is real, but when you are faced with it, it is always hard to comprehend. Last night I was informed that our drummer, Antichristus, had taken his own life. It is hard to put into words what this means, but I am shocked. AC (we are not revealing his real name - his wishes) was enigmatic and mysterious to all those who knew him, but at the same time he was an amazing friend and one of the most dedicated individuals I, and the rest of the band had ever known.
"His final recorded output with Father Befouled was to be the upcoming 'Rotting Godless Thrones' 7" for Nuclear War Now! Productions. Unfortunately all we have are rough drum rehearsals of the songs, and I am not sure if we can use any of them for the release. I will have to see what can be made usable and make the decision.
"His drumming will also be heard on our 'Profane Grace of the Trinity' split 7" with Cemetery Urn on Relapse Records, due out in January. We recorded this track over a year ago, and it was actually his first efforts for the band. AC was also the drummer for our brothers Prosanctus Inferi. Luckily they recorded their LP for Hell's Headbangers back in August. Not sure of the release, but it will certainly be out soonish. IT will be his finest effort in memorium. More...

Symphonic metal band Echoterra has issued the following update about recruiting a new vocalist and drummer:
"We would like to officially welcome our new band mates; singer Melissa Ferlaak and drummer Adam Sagan. Melissa is known for her vocals on Visions of Atlantis' third release, Trinity. Adam is well known for his work with the Canadian metal band, Into Eternity.
"We have parted ways with singer Suvi Virtanen for the sole reason that she is located in Sweden while the rest of the band is located in the U.S. which makes it very difficult to perform live. We would like to thank her for her phenomenal performance on our debut cd and we wish her nothing but the best in her future projects. Adam replaces John Gensmer since John is busy with his main band Epicurean and will not have the time to dedicate to Echoterra; we send him a huge thank you as well and we look forward to hearing Epicurean's next album.
"We are currently working on a brand new EP which will feature three re-recorded songs with Melissa and a couple of instrumentals that were left off the first album. We have uploaded one of these songs, In Your Eyes, to our myspace so please check it out and let us know your thoughts. We will shoot a video for In Your Eyes early next year and it will be on the EP as well. More...

Guitarist Jeff Kendrick of DevilDriver has issued the following tour road report:
"I really, really apologize for being so fucking slow on the blogs from out here in Europe. What can I say, I have been having way too much fucking fun and we have been just killing it all over Europe and the UK. Okay to start we sold out almost every single show in the UK. Absolutely amazing and awesome! It exceeded my expectations and I was quite blown away to say the least. I can definitely say that we had such a good time with our friends in Malefice, Trigger The Bloodshed, Suicide Silence and the mighty Behemoth. Unfortunately, all the bands except Behemoth would only join us on that leg. We made some amazing new friends and just crushed the UK. Thank you to everyone that came out to fucking see us and make the UK the best tour we have ever done.
"For the last couple of weeks we have been enjoying mainland Europe and I can say that the shows have been nothing short of fucking amazing as well. This time around Behemoth is still here with us(As we are flip flopping with them during dates all over Europe) and we welcomed Scar Symmetry and Arsis to the tour. Neither band I have ever been very familiar with but they are both killing it and love to share a post gig beer with the entire tour. I love making new friends on tour and traveling so much we meet all kinds of people. I am always down for new friends as it just makes the entire touring experience a lot better. When your tour mates are cool it just makes the time go by that much quicker! More...
Jasio Kulakowski of Edmonton band Shadowblade has issued the following update:
"Hello, I am just posting this to announce that in order to take the time to try and properly heal an unfortunate back injury, and to further dedicate his efforts with our good friends in Striker, Magnus will no longer be drumming for Shadowblade. It was an absolute blast playing with him for the past 2 years, and I obviously wish him the best of luck with both the healing and the playing.
"In light of this I would like to announce that Anders Johansson of Edmonton's technical death metal gurus Skepsis will be joining me to record the drums on the upcoming full length, and for future live gigs as well. Anders is by far the most creative drummer I've ever had the pleasure of playing with, and I am very excited to hear him sculpt his sound into my writing.
"I know I keep saying this, but I'll give more info on the album at a later point in time. I still haven't decided on a name, and I am still looking for the right artist to bring my ideas to life for an album art. Apart from that I need to give Anders a little bit of time to work with the tracks, but I do want to start tracking as soon as possible! Once I have all my details figured out I will announce them."
Immolation has issued the following update from the recording studio:
"Still moving forward here in the studio. Steve has finished up his drum tracks and we started guitars and bass between yesterday and today. Ross and Bob got their amp sounds set and got through some basic tracking, while Steve got a well deserved rest after pummeling his drum set for a week straight. Here are some more pictures from Millbrook Sound Studios. We'll have some more video up as soon as we can.
"Been making use of Paul's in studio bar after a few of the sessions. Paul has a vast array of hundreds of different beers, ....not to mention the special Belgian beer on tap, truly amazing! For now more tracking to come, but album number 8 is slowly starting to take shape! More to follow."
