Evergreen Terrace has recently announced that the band will be playing a string of dates across Florida with several other Florida-based acts in tow. Florida is passed over by a lot of tours, so the band decided to play shows specifically for home state fans. Guitarist Josh James explains further:
"It's strange to think that even though we tour 9 months out of the year we rarely get to play Florida. This state has a great scene, amazing bands and mostly importantly it's our home. In early December we will head out for a weekend trip with our friends Casey Jones and Boys No Good to explore some of these scenes and to catch some great local bands. Later in the month we will be participating in Jack Rabbit's infamous 12 Days of Christmas event in Jacksonville. It's been almost a year since we've played our hometown. The show has an amazing lineup featuring Kids Like Us, His Name Was Iron, a rad band from Tallahassee called Livid and a new local Jacksonville band called Atlas. Remember, the best way to support your scene is by attending local shows and supporting not only touring bands but local ones as well. We look forward to seeing old and new faces at these shows and closing out 2011 in a memorable way."
The band's upcoming tour dates are as follows:
12/8 - Tallahassee, FL @ The Engine Room
12/9 - Tampa, FL @ Transitions
12/10 - Cocoa, FL @ The 321 Local

Logan, Utah sits in a picturesque little furrow by the name of Cache Valley, which is home to many small towns. Righteous mountain views are prevalent throughout and Logan is home to an array of diverse businesses, people and music. One thing that has become very apparent throughout the last few years is that, despite the small town vibe, the town has an awesome variation of pure metal that is comparable to cities ten times its size. Autostigmatic, Simple as Suicide, and Osco are but three of the bands that keep Logan’s metal scene alive and kicking some serious ass.
Autostigmatic is a four piece that is reminiscent of greats like Pantera and Slayer but with a crucially unique metal sound that brings fans back in hordes, craving more with every show. Live, they are non-stop head-banging metal that is cemented in the underground scene not only in Logan, but across Northern, Utah. Hovey is the front man, leading the mayhem with fierce vocals and guitar riffs that merge superbly with ferocious guitar abilities. The band produces deep and contagious bass lines and their drum beats are a hardcore combination of metal meets stampede, all in all creating a sound that pulls you in and saturates your soul.

7. Gehenne Part III
8. Brume Unique Obscurité Part I
9. Brume Unique Obscurité Part II
“Hypno5e is very proud to announce the release of our new album Acid Mist Tomorrow in early 2012,” said the band in an official statement. “It's been two years of hard work on this new record, and we are very excited to make it public! Metal Injection caught up with Porcupine Tree frontman and solo artist Steve Wilson at the New York stop of his solo tour. During the 10-minute video interview available below, Wilson discussed his new solo album, "Grace For Drowning," his day job in Porcupine Tree and Wilson also goes into depth about his forthcoming collaboration with Opeth frontman Mikael Akerfeldt.
Here is what he had to say about the collaboration:
"Well the only stuff I've collaborated with Mikael on in the past has been working on his records. This is obviously a collaboration, so it's a different approach. We sat in a room together and wrote music together, rather than taking his music that he'd already written and working it into a record. We actually started from the very basics, composition and arranging. If you'd ask me three months ago, I would have said expect the last thing you would've expected. But actually, now that [Opeth's new record] Heritage has come out, and [Steve Wilson's solo album] Grace of Drowning has come out, I don't think it's going to be that much of a shock to people because it's almost like a third part of the trilogy in a way."
Wilson continued, "If anything, it's even more orchestral, more stripped down, even more dark, twisted and melancholy… but it certainly feels like it comes from the same place as Heritage and Grace For Drowning, which indeed it does because it was written during the same period. We were, in a way, egging each other on to do those particular records but also at the same time coming up with the music that's now going to be on Storm Corrosion. So it's a very orchestral record, as you'd expect, the songs are quite long and develop in unusual ways. I'm realistic about it, that half the people are going to hate it and half the people are going to fall in love with it. I'd be happy with that anyway." More...

Blotted Science guitarist/mastermind Ron Jarzombek (Spastic Ink) has released an instructional video for the song "Cretaceous Chasm" from the band's "The Animation Of Entomology" EP, which can be viewed below . In it, the guitarist explains the application of the twelve-tone system devised specifically for the writing process of the EP, which will be the subject of a forthcoming DVD, titled "Dissecting Bugs."
States Jarzombek: “I’ve been mentioning this ’12-Tones In Fragmented Rows’ system in interviews and it seems that even non-musicians are interested in it, so I put together this video to give listeners some insight on how it all works. I thought it would be best to break this all down into its most basic theoretical form, and play examples of its use. I chose to post the basic guitar tracks to 'Cretaceous Chasm' because it is the simplest song on the EP and is the easiest to grasp theoretically. The song will also appear first on my upcoming instructional DVD, 'Dissecting Bugs,' where I will go in-depth with all of the 12-tone theory, and play all guitar parts on all songs from the EP. Things do get a bit complicated when melodies and solos are laid on top of the note groups, but we’ll get to all of that good stuff on the DVD."
More information about the sample video, including the transcription/tabs, can be found at this location. Blotted Science also recently synced up the "Cretaceous Chasm" track with a scene from the movie "King Kong." Check out the clip here.
"The Animation Of Entomology," which also features the talents of bassist Alex Webster (Cannibal Corpse) and drummer Hannes Grossmann (Obscura), will get its European release via U.K. based Basick Records today, November 28th. The follow-up to the band's 2007 "The Machinations Of Dementia" full-length album was produced and mixed by Ron Jarzombek and recorded in San Antonio, Texas; Tampa, Florida; and V. Santura's Woodshed Studios in Landshut, Germany where the drums were cut. Mastering duties were once again handled by Jacob Hansen at Hansen Studios in Ribe, Denmark. More...

Norway's Trollfest has checked in with the following update from the recording studio:
"Today is the last recording day in Strand studios for TrollfesT. We have just completed all of Trollmannens vocals, Mr. Seidels electric guitars, Psychotrolls bass and of course Trollbanks drums. Trollmannen celebrated with a burger.
"At the moment we are all enjoying Per Spelemans company and talent as he lays down his awesome vocals on some of our songs. He also has a really nice smile, as Manskow has proved by taking a picture.
"Mr Seidel on the other hand could not afford a burger today, so he ate some plastic that used to contain bakery goods but had unfortunatly been emptied before he found it. Between us though, my guess is he didnt notice...
"In this picture Manskow finally got to hold Trollmannens favorite lyrics-writing pen. This particular container of ink has actually written stuff for the last three trollfest records and we are all surprised it is not lost yet. Who the fuck has a pen for more than a week???? Apparently Trollmannen does. What a nerd!
"Now, it might seem like we are done recording the new album, but that is not the case. Now we are going into trollskogen recording studios (also known as our respective flats and apartments), and this is were it will go from fun to awesome for us. We are now going to record everything else that makes up a Trollfest record. That means choirs, trumpets, acoustic guitars, bouzoukies, tambourin, accordion, saxophones, oud, mandolin, banjo, violin, cello, mellotron, darbuka, djembe, Psychotrolls clean vocals, woodblocks, castanyetts, eggs, maracas, MORE COWBELLs of course, triangle, flamenco guitars, stupid shit we think of right then and there, some more guest vocals from some fine folk we know and of course have a truckload of beer to test out our music properly!! Wish us luck people, best regards."

"We have stretched our set deadline numerous times - especially during the last weeks - in order to solve everything and make this show happen but we have now reached the point where enough is enough!
"We are truly sorry for this but once again, things are beyond our control. We hope to see all our US fans at the Maryland Deathfest X in May 2012 if not sooner."
You can find more information on the Rites of Darkness show by heading over to the festival's website here.
