Finnish metallers Leverage have issued the following update about recruiting a new bassist:
"Sami Norrbacka is the new member of Leverage. The original bass player Pekka Lampinen has stepped aside for private reasons. Norrbacka has been Leverage's live bass player for all of '09, and is now an official member of the band. Pekka Lampinen is an awesome musician, and we've been lucky to have him in this band. A big thank you for that, bro. We wish you all the best and good health. Sami has practically been in the band band for some time already filling in for Pekka live. He's proven he's a rock solid player and a great guy to work with. So when this situation emerged, it was a given that we'd ask him to become a permanent member of Leverage. Welcome aboard!"
Comments Pekka Lampinen: "Many friendly fans have asked on several forums about the whereabouts of Pekka Lampinen. I announce now, that I am no longer a member of Leverage. The reasons are a personal matter. I've been with the band all the way from the beginning, but now it is time to take some distance. This doesn't mean that I will abandon making music all together, but that now there is time to heal and gather strength for the future. I want to thank the whole band for the times together, and especially the loyal fans that have year in year out come to the gigs and supported this great band. It is good to continue on from here. Rock on!" More...

Canadian blackened noise band WOLD has completed work on their latest album that has been christened “Working Together For Our Privacy.”
In what will be Wold’s most experimental, surreal, hypnotizing, and bizarre album yet (imagine that), “Working Together For Our Privacy” is solely comprised of three lengthy instrumental, trance-inducing songs
Wold high-priest Fortress Crookedjaw had this to say concerning “Working Together For Our Privacy”:
“‘Working Together For Our Privacy’ consists of three compositions; sound created within Wold’s thought lodge. The songs can induce harsh trance aural formations and hallucinations. We sent out transformations through the sound ideas which manifested the transgressive waves. Priestly insignificance and reversal religiosity is diabolically executed in your tight virgin ears. The spies in the wires sparkle through like hoarfrost on machine pumps which distribute unconscious aural chemical reaction. The death machine ejaculates toxins but also provides a psyche sanctuary of sorts, but ultimately the inevitable takes hold. Death is the factor.”
Featuring artwork from the mysterious Pippi Zornoza, tracklisting for “Working Together For Our Privacy” goes as follows:
1. The Secret
2. Death Spiral
3. Lovey Dovey
Expect “Working Together For Our Privacy” to reveal itself in full mid-Febm via Profound Lore Records.

Netherbird has issued the following update about seeking fan submissions for an upcoming music video:
"Netherbird has always been, and will always be, about the most important aspect of our music: YOU. It is the listeners that makes us matter, the people who listen to our distorted tones and wicked riddles that makes us go on, always. Back in 2008 we released the online ep/mcd 'Lighthouse Eternal (Laterna Magika)' where we placed almost 4000 photos, one for each friend we had on myspace in those days. Today there are 86.000+ friends so that is no longer possible for us... but we will do something equally new to let each and everyone interested to be part of our art able to be seen!
"We are done recording our next mcd humbly entitled 'Monument Black Colossal' and one of the songs will have a very special video where YOU will be the most important part! So what we now want is for you to either send a photo or a video (webcam, hd, digicam whatever) and we will proudly put you into it! That way you will be a part of something that will be around for damn long time: Netherbird. Participate using a photo - Upload it on our website here. You will also be seen on the website from the time you upload the photo. More...

Lyrically, you will recognize what has become the Unleashed trademark since more than 20 years, the combination of the past, present and future of viking struggle and way of life. A few of the songs also mark the beginning of a story never before told. More details about the album and songtitles coming soon."
