Wrvth Posts "Cease To Exist" Video

Atmospheric tech death collective Wrvth today issues a confounding video accompaniment to the track "Cease To Exist." The tune comes by way of the band's self-titled, full-length release via Unique Leader Records.

Elaborates bassist Taylor Preston of the fiery clip: "We decided to work with Cory Davis of Yellowbox Films again for 'Cease To Exist,' as we loved the work he did for our music video 'Malaise.' This song is the closing track to our self-titled release and it is fitting as it is also our closer for the year, musically speaking. As far as the creation goes, we wrote every part of the music to fit the lyrics.

"We put all our heads together to form something that we all felt was as fitting as it was meaningful. Even though the song has a seemingly straightforward interpretation, this song means something very different for every person in the band. We didn't write the song with a mindset of writing something relatable, in fact the events that inspired the song are all very specific and personal to each of us. We gave Cory the lyrics and artistic freedom to form a visual representation of the emotions in this song based on his own interpretation and the feelings the song may incite." More...

Recorded by the band, mixed by Runar Magnussen, and mastered by Dan Randall at Mammoth Sound, The Mansters’ new LP is fast and relentless from start to finish, without a single pause to gasp for air and is set for release on November 25th via Ampmandens Records.

A Breach Of Silence Tackles Ad Services With Video

Australia’s award winning powercore-metal group A Breach Of Silence just premiered a new music video for "Falling Away." This is the first video from upcoming third studio album "Secrets."

"Falling Away" takes on the controversial perception of a value gap occurring within the music industry while tackling the issue head-on and stressing the importance of subscription-based business models over ad-based streaming, for all creators of music… regardless of genre.

“We did this clip because there is a huge value gap for artists and labels in the music industry right now and it needs to be fixed,” states guitarist Mat Cosgrove. “Best-case scenario, a 12-song album needs to be streamed about 125 times (1,500 total streams) on a subscription-based plan to equal the sale of an album. Our label is fully transparent with us, we see every transaction pertaining to our catalog and we get paid. The problem is that the revenue generated by free, advertising-based business models is fractions of that received from subscription models. If musicians aren’t fairly compensated for their music, then they eventually stop being musicians and are forced to choose other professions that are more profitable.” More...

Season Of Mist Launches E-Kunst Art Store

Season Of Mist has launched a new art webstore titled E-Kunst, selling canvas, screen print, giclees, and serigraphy of various heavy metal cover art. The label comments:

"Spearheaded by legendary studios like Hipgnosis, and immortal trailblazers like Warhol, Mapplethorpe, and Giger, it's been a long path to rock and roll acquiring its status as legitimate art.

"It took a while for extreme music to get there too. From the hair metal days to the variety of styles in contemporary heavy music, it's been a long journey. This scene - our scene - is burgeoning with interesting artists and heavy metal is well represented at poster art events (i.e. SXSW's Flatstock, etc) all over the world.

"We therefore are proud to introduce E-Kunst, a new webshop for all heavy music related art. Discover the works of great artists like Costin Chioreanu, Erik Danielsson, Zbigniew M. Bielak and many others at our official website

"The name is as bold as the art and music itself. E-Kunst is a reference to Entartete Kunst – 'degenerate art' in German. It is a term adopted by the Nazis to describe modern art, i.e. the art Hitler did NOT like. It is also a reference to Electronic Kunst, meaning 'online culture.' There is nothing political in this, just our denial of any art code and authority. We embrace this title of deviant, degenerate art as extreme music does to this very day. More...

Kal-El Signs To Argonauta Records

Kal-El - the Norwegian fuzzed-out step-child of hard rock and heavy metal - signed on with Argonauta Records. The band's music typically features a bass-heavy groove, detuned guitars and mind-expanding lyrics with a touch of doom.

Kal-El is now recording the new album "Astrodoomeda" to be released by Argonauta in 2017. Be prepared for a stunning blend of Black Sabbath meet Monster Magnet meet Nebula!

The band commented: “We are proud to be a part of the Argonauta Family, and we look forward to release our 3rd album 'Astrodoomeda' through this label in 2017. Gero has a solid promo package going, and we really miss that, so signing with him was a naturally choice. 'Astrodoomeda' is going to be a bit heavier than any of our previous releases, but we do believe we keep the essence of Kal-El with us here as well with different songs and different moods throughout the album. The new record has been a slow process where it has been recorded at different sessions through the last year and a half and even as we speak”.

Formed in Norway back in 2012 by members from Theatre of Tragedy, Six Eyes Lost and Desspo, Kal-El started rehearsing for the debut record shortly after that, growing up not just as a band, but as a little family as the band found itself around Norway on different gigs and venues. More...
