We had played that one at a few shows on the last tour so i wanted everyone to hear the finished version. Although the song is not a single from the record i think its cool so here it is. Ex Deo have pulled out of some dates on the Ensiferum tour for visa matters beyond the bands control. Commented front man Maurizio:
"Well the Gods are definitely not smiling on us at the moment. Some confusion happened in the visa department for a couple guys in our camp and by the time it will be solved, the tour will be too far in for us to join it and financially it would be a disaster. The good news is we will be doing the last week of shows from Chicago to New York. We’re planning some Ex Deo stuff next year in America at the moment. We’ve lots of supporters that will be disappointed if it doesn’t happen so we’ll try our best to make it up next year.”
Ex Deo will film a video for the track “In Her Dark Embrace” taken from the band's debut "Romulus." The video will be shot once again by director Ivan Colic and producer Stanimir Lucik in Belgrade, Serbia. Austrian metallers Serenity have issued the following road report from their current tour:
"Hi, we had another 2 days on the road and what to say??? Everything's just fine!
"Bielefeld/Germany was some kind of strange.... A lot of problems during the whole day for really everybody included into this tour package. No local crew, no stagehands, no lighting tech (I did lights for Threshold ;-), no backstage room (there was a bar where we had dinner and everything - but needed to get out there at around 6 p.m., and much much more.... This is really strange for such a tour - however, though only about 100 people the concert was great as always.
"Pratteln/Switzerland today was great, perfect PA, top lighning engineer, top technics everywhere, a hughe venue, about 350-400 people, perfect. Threshold is still playing their set (a great live band by the way) and SERENITY is just taking a shower (not together ;-)) The best thing on this tour is that we don't need to drive with a van and on our own. Going into the nightliner and don't need to worry on anything is a great feeling again! So no lack of sleep, no big problems. Ahhhhhhhhh great. More...

Pro-wrestling legend Terry Bolea (better known as Hulk Hogan) has revealed that he was more than willing to walk away from the wrestling business to join Metallica as their new bass player. As fans of Hogan are aware, before becoming a wrestler he was an accomplished bass player who earned good money playing in bands.
He states: "I was in England presenting an award with Jerry Hall, Mick Jagger’s ex, and she told me the (Rolling) Stones were looking for a bass player,” Hogan said. “I sent her a ton of merchandise that she asked for and said ‘Tell Mick I’m a great bass player.’ I never heard a word back.
"When Metallica was looking for a bass player, I called and never heard a word back from them either. I would have quit wrestling in a heartbeat to be a bass player for Metallica."

It means a lot to know that some people out there actually get some of what we're doing. We've kinda kept quiet on the news front because there wasn't much to tell.
"News are: Olivier (bass) has recently joined our fellow montrealers Neuraxis. He's still in the band and we hope things stay that way. Sick of the lineup changes. We've already started to put together new songs. New Orleans is known worldwide for its legendary music of every genre. Myths have been created about what could have possibly happened here that made it such a hotbed of musical creativity. To quickly debunk those false myths; a lax government combined with a mixture of fun-loving people of all ethnicities led to a freedom of expression, and one off-shoot of that was music. Rock n’ roll was created in-part by the citizens of New Orleans. Therefore, metal would soon find its way into the dive bars and clubs that fill our streets. Sludge was our specialty, but all kinds of metal started pouring out of the amps, and some bands became famous, spreading “New Orleans Metal” around the globe. That first wave of musicians is still performing, and they’re still amazing. Exhorder is playing their first show in eight years this month! But the scene is thriving and alive; new blood mixing with the more established bone structure of Crowbar, Soilent Green and Eyehategod. Here is just a few of the bands keeping the spirit of New Orleans metal new and ever-growing; in the same position that the most popular of bands were in 20 years ago.
Black metal Serpentis plays often and has gained a steady fanbase from it. Drummer Will pounds the drums like a madman, drenched in sweat by the third song because he forces his soul out through his arms for the crowd. The guitars are strummed so fast, they could set a fire instantly. Vocalist Heretic growls and gestures violently to preach his word to the people; not preach so much as shove down their throats relentlessly. Already these gentlemen have gotten on the bill of big acts such as Cannabis Corpse and Marduk. They are surely headed for notoriety at their break-neck pace. Check out more of Serpentis' music on their Myspace page. More...

In a recent interview with KNAC.com, Armored Saint vocalist John Bush spoke about a number of topics including the possibility that he will rejoin his old band, Anthrax. Some excerpts from the chat are as follows:
"The experience's been great (so far). And the band is sitting on (an already completed new) record (with Dan Nelson's vocals) that they're probably a little unsure what to do with, and we've discussed that, and we're trying to figure that out too. And I've listened to some music and it sounds cool.
"Doing shows is easy, for the most part. Remembering lyrics is the biggest challenge lately, and I've done pretty well with that at the two shows. I'm proud of myself. I guess all my memory abilities are still there, which is important. I haven't gotten early signs of Alzheimer's yet; I'm lucky. We even played a couple of songs at the Japanese show, like 'Catharsis', which we played once in the band's career, and we didn't even rehearse; that's a pretty awesome accomplishment, I think.
"That being said, I kind of wanted to (complete) the (new) Armored Saint (album), as far as creativity-wise, before I could enter a new area of being creative with Anthrax. And I've talked to them and I wanted to be super-straight-up about everything. More...

Judgement Day has issued a European tour report from their tour with Dredg. Here are some excerpts, which are interesting to contrast the European hospitality the bands receive:
"This tour has been quite luxurious. The main reason is that we are splitting a tour bus with Dredg. Riding on a bus makes everything so much easier. We party, watch movies and sleep during the drives, and then wake up every morning exactly where we need to be. Riding with Dredg has been incredibly fun. There are eleven of us total riding on the bus and everyone hangs out and has a good time. It’s much easier to be traveling with a larger group of people because you don’t get sick of everyone. It also helps that everyone on our bus is chill and fun.
"In addition to the luxury of the bus, the hospitality in Europe is absolutely amazing. Almost every day we find our dressing room stocked with gourmet cheese, meats, vegetables and sweets. Almost every night we have an amazing catered dinner with wine. They sure know how to treat musicians over here.
"It hasn’t been all fun and games though. To help offset the enormous bill that we are going to get at the end of the tour we have been hustling extra hard to sell cds. We have been playing on street corners in the day and sometimes outside of the clubs when the shows get out:
"We made a special European tour cd that we are only selling on this trip called Excerpts. It includes three songs off of our upcoming record Peacocks /Pink Monsters as well as all of Opus 3: Acoustic."
