Exodus Reveals New Album Title

American thrash metal legends Exodus has revealed that the title of their forthcoming album will be "Persona Non Grata." The title was unveiled in an Instagram post by guitarist Gary Holt, which stated:

"So the title of the new record is out! The next Exodus record is titled “Persona Non Grata” and will be our summer 2021! And I LOVE the studios name here in @decibelmagazine, “The garage next to Tom Hunting’a house!" Haha! Engineered by @stevelagudiproductions, produced by us, being mixed by Andy Sneap as we speak. Early indications are this monster sounds fucking sick! Doing some spot vocal stuff tomorrow with @zetrodus and then tracking is DONE. Gonna be a long wait until the release of this beast on Nuclear Blast."

This will mark Exodus's first album in seven years, following "Blood In, Blood Out," which itself saw the return of vocalist Steve "Zetro" Souza.

Interview

My Dying Bride Singer Opens The Macabre Cabaret

"It's grim up north" goes the old British saying. This might not always be true, but it can certainly apply when discussing one of Yorkshire's most treasured metal exponents, My Dying Bride. Formed in Bradford in 1990, the band released their debut album, "As The Flower Withers" two years later and became one of the first death/doom bands. Their status as one of the most important British metal bands of the nineties was cemented with further albums like "Turn Loose The Swans," "The Angel And The Dark River" and "Like Gods Of The Sun," with the stellar material continuing into the 2000s and 2010s.

Now in the year 2020, the band has got off to a great start with "The Ghost Of Orion" being unleashed back in March, as well as a new EP, "Macabre Cabaret," which will be released tomorrow (November 20th.) To find out more about the album, the EP, the emotional road to the studio, why their live performances are so special and even to discuss the effect My Dying Bride's music has on puppies, I spoke with vocalist Aaron Stainthorpe. You can watch the interview in full below. More...

Fuck The Facts Streaming New Album

The grindcore smorgasbord of Fuck The Facts have a new album "Pleine Noirceur" coming November 20th and before it officially drops, the band is premiering its full stream via Decibel Magazine here. It can also be heard below.

Experimental and unapologetic, and one of the longest-running bands in the Canadian extreme music scene, they have been destroying stages around the world, from big festivals to dingy basements, since the early 00s.

The first release since 2015, "Pleine Noirceur" dives deep into harsh melodies, different layers, and a variety of different arrangement ideas where each of the members can flaunt their creativity and contribute wholly to the production. Fuck The Facts comment on the album:

"This album is meant to flow as a single piece. With 'Desire Will Rot' we feel like we regained some of the dynamics that we lost on 'Die Miserable,' and on 'Pleine Noirceur' we’ve gone full-on with even more peaks and valleys than I think any record we’ve done in the past. I know it’s not really the trend, but the focus is more on the album than the individual songs themselves." More...

Unearthing The Metal Underground: Sacrocurse

The Mexican/Texan entity known as Sacrocurse has been hurling vile, dark metal since 2012. The unit’s leader is ZK, who began his career with Mexico’s Unholier in the early nineties, and he’s performed with the likes of Nodens, Morbosidad, Russia’s Pseudogod. But the prolific musician has been making noise more recently with Sacrocurse, an act that has a couple of full-length albums under its belt as well as a few other releases. And on January 20, 2021, the band will release the awesome EP entitled “Supreme Terror,” on multiple formats via Shadow Records/Regain Records. More...

Moonspell Reveals New Album "Hermitage" Details

"We are nothing, therefore we are everything..."

Moonspell is approaching their 30th anniversary as a band more ambitiously and stronger than ever, as the Portuguese dark metal pioneers have finally revealed the details for their upcoming 13th studio album. Hermitage will be released on February 26 via Napalm Records.

While the world is struggling in the dark, Moonspell’s forthcoming album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Jaime Gomez Arellano (Paradise Lost, Primordial, Ghost, Sólstafir and many more) at the Orgone Studios in the UK.

Building upon the sensitive facets of Hermitage, one can expect an entertaining and revolutionary, yet epic journey through the darkest days of human existence. Beautifully crafted songs such as “The Greater Good“ show us the modernity of the wolves in 2021, while other tracks embrace the Moonspell tradition of writing a dark, gothic metal record like no other band can. The ethereal and melodic sounds of Moonspell, while not straying away from their metal roots - influenced by underground metal bands such as Bathory - make Hermitage most likely one of the deepest, surprising and most epic albums Moonspell has ever written.
