Former Korn guitarist Brian "Head" Welch and his band are in Nashville recording their next album with Grammy-nominated producer Rob Graves (RED, Pillar). The album is targeted for completion February 2010, with a release shortly thereafter on his Driven Music Group label (with distribution through Ryko/Warner Music Group).
“The production on our new record is going awesome with Rob Graves,” said Welch. “Our goal is to get the record completely mixed and mastered by the first part of February, and released immediately thereafter. My band is together, helping with the recording, and we will be ready for a full U.S. tour beginning early next year.”
Earlier this year, HEAD announced that he had chosen his bandmates—Michael Valentine (bass); Scott Von Heldt (guitars); Ralph Patlan (guitars); Brian Ruedy (keyboards, programming) and Dan Johnson (drums). The band toured lightly in 2009; but is ready to hit the road full time in 2010.
In 2007, HEAD penned a New York Times best-selling (non-fiction) autobiography, “Save Me From Myself” (Harper Collins). HEAD’s debut album, also entitled SAVE ME FROM MYSELF, was released on September 9, 2008 with Driven Music Group, through Ryko Distribution/Warner Music Group, Word Entertainment (Christian market), and Warner Music International (ADA Global—Canada). The album debuted at #13 on Billboard’s “Top Hard Rock Albums” chart, and continues to impact the market.
The Showdown has issued the following announcement about canceling their remaining tour dates with Impending Doom and Oh, Sleeper:
"To all our fans... We are truly sorry that we must drop off the Impending Doom/ Oh Sleeper tour. At the very last minute our drummer, Yogi, has had some serious family issues that need his attention. We were looking forward to tearing up the asphalt with friends from the bands as well as tearing riffs for our fans. We have kept a steady tour schedule all year long and plan to kick right back into it once our record is finished by February of next year. We appreciate all who have offered their support, thoughts, and prayers while Yogi goes through this tough time. See you back on the road in a few months."

Our first gig in Manila is going to happen! And it comes with a giant bat and pyros (probably no license, haha..) Our promoters from Pulp magazine are taking very good care of us. Nice hotel, way too much food and lot of excitement about the show tomorrow. We are the first European metal band to stir up some live madness over here. Damn. Its about time!
"Michael and Daniel doing a signing for Dean Guitars / Pearl Drums before the show. Next day will be a very early flight and a show in Hong Kong. So I sleep most of the day.. Kinda refilling my batteries for the next 36 hours of sleep depravity to come. I am totally awake and ready to do this show. I wanna see the giant bat in action. Thats right, from the frozen depths of Antarctica, GWAR brings what BLOODSTOCK needs...BLOOD! Prepare yourself for the most colossal, disgusting, and completely politically incorrect show in metal history! We'll bring the swords, you bring the bodies, and together we shall turn the slam-pit into a seething mass of DEATH not seen in Europe since the fall of Berlin! "After two months on the road in South America, the 'Apocalypse of the Ancient Ones' Tour is an awesome memory of the past. The difficulties on this tour were great and without the brutal support of the Sudamerican crowd nothing would have come to this end. At this point we want to specially thank our promoter Juan Diabolus from Shadows Productions. In addition the band had enough time to conceive and create new material for the upcoming album. "After what seems like an eternity, the drummer search has thankfully ended. Icarus Witch are proud to announce Steve Johnson as our newest addition to the inner circle, or as he so eloquently puts it himself, the 'next and last drummer for the Witch.' We came into contact with Steve after he saw our performance opening for Heaven & Hell and Coheed & Cambria in Cleveland on August 22. Thanks to the wonders of myspace, we soon became friends with the Ohio native and when he found out we had a position open for full-time drummer, he came down to Pittsburgh and nailed his audition.
"We would like to thank everyone who tried out for the spot and came from as far away as Florida to give it a shot. Also, many thanks go out to Tristan Triggs and Keith Hurka for filling in on the throne until we were able to secure our full-time, time keeper.
"A veteran of the Cleveland metal underground, Steve comes from a traditional heavy metal / hard rock drumming background, something that we felt was essential for a long term fit. Also, he is a heavy hitter, a showman, owns couple cargo trailers, and he brings Yuengling to the sessions. What more can you ask for?"

English black metal band EIBON LA FURIES, which was created by Lord Eibon Blackwood around his interests in the Victorian occult and infernal Brigantia, has inked a worldwide deal with the Italian label Code666 Records.
Lord Eibon comments, "Code666 is a label that is well respected within the metal genre for working with avant-garde, experimental and original metal bands, and their pedigree for releasing quality albums is impeccable. We are honored by Code666's belief in our brand of Victoriana occult-inspired progressive black metal and to join an already propitious roster of bands on the label. Work has already begun on the debut album with the working title 'The Blood of the Realm', an atmospheric and unique examination of the Victoriana occult underworld, exploring the depths of truths, lies and legends of this forward thinking time (and some of its larger-than-life characters)."
"The Blood of the Realm" is scheduled for a March 2010 relelease.
