Dixie Deathwish has issued the following update regarding their recent decision to disband:
"We have decided to keep the name Dixie Deathwish. We have made this decision for a couple of reasons. The first being that we really like the name. The second is that despite the fact that we might not have had the best relationships with some venues or bands in the past we are determined to change all of that. Third let's face it some bands and other people in the area would have loved to see us drop the name and kind of admit defeat, but that is just not our style. We are determined to come back with a ferocity on stage on rivaled by few in this area and we look forward to sharing the stage with those bands and i think they know who they are. Because it is good to play shows with bands that push you as a performer and gives you a reason to step your game up. And that is what we are doing boys and girls so get ready for us cause here we come and we are coming full force. We look forward to sharing the stage with any and all bands and seeing alot of fans we have'nt seen in a while."

"A limited edition gatefold LP-version of 'Lords of the night realm' has been released through Funeral Industries, the same label that did the magnificent re-release of 'Nord.' Funeral Industries has been great to work with and we hope to continue our collaboration for years to come. We have always wanted to release a proper LP-version of "Hell eternal" with the correct LP-master and if things work out as planned this will happen in a not too distant future."
"Regarding the line-up we can inform you that our rythm guitarist Thurz left the ranks last year due to lack of dedication and time. Since then we have had a session drummer from Italy while Mysteriis has been handling the bass duities. Right now we are rehearsing with a new local drummer to make things a bit easier when it comes to rehearsing, touring and so on. His skill, personality and dedication fits Setherial perfect and we will most likely sound stronger than ever when we will return to perform live rituals again in 2011. More information regarding this amazing drummer will be presented further on." More...

Metal Obsession reports that a Sydney-based religious group on Facebook has seemingly successfully protested against the running of a Black metal mini-festival at Sydney venue Newtown RSL. It is understood that the venue pulled out from the event, and the promoter, Séance Records, has currently postponed the event until another date/venue can be found.
The protesting Facebook group has the following statement as their description, on a profile that has limited public content available to non-members.
This coming Sat 27th November a satanic “Black Mass” celebration is to occur at Newtown RSL – it is simply disgraceful. The advertising which features the insignia of the Church of Satan and an inverted crucifix is encouraging people to come and partake in an “unholy spell to be cast upon the city of Sydney” featuring the “ultimate of soul possessing occult revelations…unbridled blasphemy… [and] a union of all things unholy.
Promoter, Séance Records, has subsequently announced the postponement of the event until another date/venue can be found. They commented in a press release posted on Brisbane based metal forums Brismetal…
Less than two weeks out from the show The RSL board has pulled the plug on Black Mass Festival. They have blatantly cancelled with no prior notice and with no option of negotiation or compromise. They have sadly bowed under pressure from Christians who have lobbied them to cancel the show.
The Christians have launched the full scale of their campaign at the last minute, I believe in a calculated manner to sabotage us to the fullest extent possible. They have done so via a series of facebook pages organized to have the event cancelled. From their website we can tell that these are the same people who lobby against gay & lesbian rights, womens reproductive rights & contraception.
Their actions will cause large scale hurt not to a secret den of Satanists as they may imagine but to normal hard working, tax paying, law abiding Australians. Young people who have taken time off work, rearranged their schedules and family life, then spent money that they probably can’t afford on flights and tickets to the event in the pursuit of a shared love for heavy metal & live independent Australian music.
In response to this turn of events, a rival Facebook group “AGAINST THE CHRISTIANS PROTESTING AGAINST “BLACK MASS” MUSIC FESTIVAL.”
Bands that been announced for the Black Mass festival included Spire, Moon, Astriaal, Sanguinary Misanthropia, Erebus Enthroned, Wardaemonic, Nazxul, and Drowning the Light.
