After more than twenty years since they rocked the New Orleans scene to its core, Exhorder is still together, ready to destroy anything in its path. Ending a rather long break of eight years, the men of Exhorder proved that they aren’t done making extremely heavy punk, hardcore and metal mixed music. Exhorder was merely laying in wait, holding the fans in agonizing anticipation and striking at the perfect moment to ensure a kill. And, believe me, they killed everyone at that venue with extreme prejudice. More...

It really screws with your head and makes you feel like day dreaming and moon walking. I can't remember much from the day. Land at noon in Taipei, get in a van. Drive to the hotel. Smells different here. Fish. Weird plants. Car exhaust. Check into room. Shower. Drop into bed, sleep 2 hours. Alarm rings. Get up again, shower again. Very tired. Drive to venue, warm up voice. Get up on stage. Different setlist tonight! More...

Swedish death metallers Impious are currently streaming their entire new album "Death Domination" online at this location.
Guitarist Valle Adzic comments about the album: “Death Domination is our sixth album, and I must say it's the first time I'm actually really happy about how the end result turned out. It just gets my engines pumping, you know? We're talking about ultra brutal death metal here, but still it has those memorable hooks somehow. Death Domination is a team effort that's as honest as it can get. We're not trying to be original or something, we've simply just worked hard on making the best songs we can come up with, and then get that on tape. I think people will notice that rock solid energy and confidence, and I hope they'll appreciate the album as much as we do. It's our fastest most aggressive record to this date for sure.”
"Death Domination" will be available on these dates in the following locations:
North America - 11.24.09

Outloud has issued the following update about recruiting a new bassist:
"Dear friends and fans:
"Following the release of our successful debut album, it is with great regret that we announce the departure of our bass man Jason Mercury. Jason, as Tony's best friend from childhood, joined the band last year to complete the lineup. He has done a lot to help promote the band and his energy in the studio, as well as in our video, will be missed. He has some other interesting projects in the works and we all wish him the best going forward!
"On the other hand, we would like to welcome Sverd from the band Bare Infinity as the new bass player of Outloud! Hailing from Greece, Sverd is an incredible player who fits our style perfectly and we can't wait to get on stage with him for the Tour! We promise he won't disappoint. With that being said, we begin rehearsals next week for the 'We Run All Over Greece' Tour, which starts in Crete on Dec. 13th and finishes in Athens on Dec. 20th. Wherever you are, make your way to Greece and don't miss it!"

Based on the song's lyrics and concept, the explosive music video is a re-imagination of the ancient Sanskrit text 'The Bhagavad Gita', one of the most important philosophical classics of the world.
"It is a dream come true to make this video, which is a great visual representation of Rudra's music. The video interweaves brutal band performances with storyline battle scenes, created with visual effects compositing and computer animation. Check out the event on Facebook.

New Jersey pirate metallers Swashbuckle have issued the following statement about canceling several upcoming tour dates:
"Ahoy scallywags and wenches alike,
"Due to unfortunate circumstances, we will have to drop off from select dates from the Monsters of Death tour. Captain Crashride was denied entrance to Canada due to being a shitty pirate and spreading the scurvy throughout the masses.
"So those looking forward to seeing us on the western side of Canada and the west coast of the USA will have to wait it out until we get said situation straightened out. We will rejoin the tour on Dec. 9th in Atlanta and continue to have massive amounts of fun and shred faces with hooks and harpoons. We will make it back to Canada and high five and mosh you all in the near future, so be prepared for piratical glory and epic shenannigans."

We, The Undersigned have issued the following road report from their Canadian tour:
"November 7th – Knights of Columbus Hall – Ottawa/Vanier, ON. Tonight we find ourselves in a posh-y suburb of Ottawa known as Vanier. This is most assuredly our first time being in this place and I must say, we had quite the rock show! These halls only have tolerable sound if there’s enough bodies to absorb it. Luckily the 60-70 kids that showed up did the trick and moshed their faces off!
"Strangely we were offered a sponsorship deal with a local restaurant called 'Best Pizza' while we ate our supper. We’re not sure what they thought we could offer them, or vice versa, but none the less it gave us a laugh. I’ll wear their t-shirt for a couple free meals a year in Vanier! Mmmm...shwarma...
"One of the standout bands of the evening was the promoters' 'Pressure Makes Diamonds.' Another young band that has loads of potential as they grow into their 20`s at making some great music. More...

Finnish black metallers Gloria Morti have issued the following announcement about recording a new album:
"Gloria Morti is entering studio to record their third full length album. The recordings of the album will be carried out in the same fashion as the last album Eryx by Juho Räihä in SoundSpiral studios. The recordings will start on November 21th. We will have a studio diary online and we will keep you up to date. The working title of the album is Anthems of Annihilation and it will contain ten tracks of the most diverse and crushing Gloria Morti material to date.
"Anthems of Annihilation is a concept album about mankind making an irreversible mistake in trying to overcome all of its biggest problems. The storyline borders from a war between men and machines to the slavery and exploitation of a whole generation. The lyrical theme takes a stance on current problems and is a reminder of the stupidity of man.
"Some working titles of the tracks:
The Solution Called War
Awakening of a Discordant Machine
Swallowed by Defeat
"Jenni Kemppainen is no longer a part of Gloria Morti. Keyboard arrangements on Anthems of Annihilation will be written and performed by our long time friend Lars Eikind (Producer on Lifestream Corrosion, Additional keyboard arrangements on Eryx.) Expect fast blast beats, flesh ripping melodies and huge sound scapes. Gloria Morti is stronger than ever!"

Megadeth and Slayer will join forces to co-headline "American Carnage" across North America this winter. "American Carnage" will kick off on January 18 in Seattle, WA for a 26-date trek across North America that will include the six Canadian dates postponed earlier this month. Tickets for most shows go on sale this Friday, November 20. Ticketmaster is offering a special presage for most shows from Wednesday, November 18 at 10AM until Thursday, November 19 at 10PM.
"American Carnage" is the first time that Slayer and Megadeth will have toured the U.S. together since 1991's epic "Clash of the Titans" tour. To celebrate that, and in recognition of the tough economic times that many of their fans are having, Megadeth and Slayer have decided to roll back the price of a chunk of tickets at every U.S. show to the "1991 price" of $10.00. These specially-priced tickets will be limited and when they're gone, they're gone. Megadeth has also teamed with iloveallaccess.com to provide an Ultimate Fan Package including premium seats, meet and greets, pre-show parties and more.
In addition, Testament, who was also on the '91 "Clash of the Titans" bill, will be special guests on the entire tour, marking the first time that all three bands have shared a stage together in more than 18 years, and making this a "must see" metal event.
Both Megadeth and Slayer will hit the road supporting new albums: Megadeth's 2009 album, "Endgame," and Slayer's "World Painted Blood," the band's 10th studio venture, which hit stores November 3. Testament's "The Formation of Damnation: Special Tour Edition," will be released on February 23, 2010 with special unreleased bonus tracks.
Slayer and Megadeth have already massacred territories together outside of the U.S., first with four explosive dates in June 2009 across Western Canada - "Canadian Carnage" - marking the first time the bands had shared a stage anywhere in 18 years; and then six co-headlining "Carnage" dates in Australia followed in October.
Slayer and Megadeth are also rescheduling the east coast leg of the "Canadian Carnage" tour, postponed from this fall.

Members of the legendary Norwegian black metal band Mayhem and their road crew were arrested in the Netherlands early this morning after the entire contents of their hotel room in Tilburg had been destroyed.
The group had given a performance on Sunday in a cafe in Tilburg and had booked a night at Hotel Central. Monday morning an employee of the hotel found a big mess. Plants were thrown on the street, mirrors, a sink were broken and strips in the bathroom were pulled off and demolished. The beds and television were destroyed and walls were covered in spots.
The hotel estimates the damage at least 5000 euro. The men, aged 21 to 45 years, are from Netherlands, Norway, Finland and France. The suspects remain tied to a compensation of the damage dealt.
It's almost a given that if you like any form of hard rock or metal, you like Motorhead. No other band has the longevity, the honesty and the volume that Motorhead carry with them at all times. Not only do they live rock and roll, they are the embodiment of it. So having them come to perform in Swindon (which they have only done about three times before in their 34 year history) was a real treat for all concerned.
Opening the show this evening was Girlschool, who have been going for nearly as long as Motorhead, forming in 1978. I unfortunately missed quite a bit of their set but what I did see was alot of fun. They gave a performance that showed how much they enjoy not playing their music, but being on the stage in general. They were definitely a great opening act and set the mood for the great evening of rock and roll that was to follow. I look forward to seeing them again in the future and hopefully getting there on time!
Next up was British punk rock legends The Damned. A little bit of pub trivia for you, The Damned were the first British punk band to release a single, an album and tour the United States, not the Sex Pistols as so many people believe. As Michael Caine might say, not alot of people know that! The Damned approached their live show with a great spirit and got plenty of the crowd excited from the opening sentence of "Hello... We're The Damned.... And we sound a bit like this... Is she really going out with him?" before the pounding drums of "New Rose" kicked off a fantastic performance. I personally had been wanting to see The Damned for six years and it was well worth the wait to see them tear through classic songs like "Neat, Neat, Neat" and "Love Song." They were also as hilarious as they were exciting, with guitarist Captain Sensible joking about the recent Morrissey show in Swindon that ended after the singer collapsed on stage after one song. He declared the tour to be "very anti-Simon Cowell" and a "celebration of rock and roll." They closed with the always classic anthem, "Smash It Up" which was followed with Captain Sensible running over to lead singer Dave Vanian's microphone to perform a bit of his 1980s novelty hit song, "Happy Talk" before being dragged off the stage by his guitar straps by Vanian. If I had to ask anything of The Damned, it would be that next time they play "Machine Gun Etiquette" and "Melody Lee." "Nasty" would be a good addition too, but really, those are only requests. If you're a fan of punk rock, go and see The Damned. You won't regret it!
"We are Motorhead... We play rock and roll" was the introductory growl from the iconic singing bass player Lemmy as the headliners took the stage. After that it was into the classic, "Iron Fist" and the onslaught of loud instruments and great songs continued from there. The energy the band brings didn't stop for a second and the band brought a few surprises into their set too, which is always good to hear, performing a cover of the Twisted Sister song, "Shoot 'em Down" and the acoustic blues vibe of "Whorehouse Blues." It was also nice to hear songs from their new album, "Motorizer" as well as songs from the previous two albums, "Inferno" and "Kiss Of Death." The band performed the awesome, "One Night Stand" from the latter album and "In The Name Of Tragedy" from the former. They also included timeless songs such as "Going To Brazil," "Killed By Death" and "Over The Top." Hearing the band playing "Bomber" felt fantastic as on the two occassions I had seen them before, they left it out from the set. And for the encore? What else would you expect than the song that defines heavy metal and hard rock and roll in general, "Ace Of Spades," followed by the title track of their second album, "Overkill." Motorhead proved once again why they are one of the true legends of rock with a performance that didn't falter once, great crowd interaction and timeless songs. All in all, it was a great night, though the crowd really were a disappointment. Alot of people in Swindon complain that they don't have a proper music venue to draw bigger acts but if they are as still as many in the crowd were for Motorhead, building a venue would just be a waste of money and time. That aside, if you live in the U.K. and you like your concerts to be f'ing loud (the "f" is not for fairly!) and alot of fun, then you simply have to catch this tour!
Dir En Grey are currently on tour in the United States supporting the release of their new DVD, "Average Blasphemy." Frontman, Kaoru has checked in with the following road report:
"Thank you to everyone who showed up in New York for us!
"I hope those of you who were in line for days outside the Gramercy are not sick. A few of us are developing symptoms of a cold but our crew member, George, is definitely sick now. He's usually up and about all the time but today he's curled up tightly in his bunk.
"There were some technical trouble during the NY 3 Days show but I thought the shows were great and very fulfilling. Now, I need to think up the setlists for Chicago and Denver. What should we play...hmmm... ...
"I'm going to take it slow today, just rest and watch Prison Break Season 4 which I have yet to watch!"
Sweden’s ARMAGEDDON, the melodic metal project of Arch Enemy guitarist Chris Amott, finally sees their second (“Embrace The Mystery”) and third (“Three”) albums getting a proper and domestic release outside of Japan, where they originally came out back in the years 2000 and 2002, respectively. “Embrace The Mystery & Three” will be released as 2-CD set with upgraded artwork, several bonus tracks and liner notes on November 16th, 2009 in Europe and on January 26th in North America via Century Media Records.
Chris Amott comments the release as follows: “It is with great pleasure that I announce the first time ever release of these albums in Europe and the US! Any fan of melodic hard rock and shred guitar playing should check this out - 'Embrace the Mystery' and 'Three' feature many great instrumental performances and epic songs! These two albums were recorded in 2000 and 2002 and have until only been available in Japan. I put a lot of work into these recordings at the time, so I am glad to see them come out!”
Originally formed in Halmstad / Sweden in 1997, ARMAGEDDON was launched as a melodic death metal act with their debut album “Crossing The Rubicon” released via the now defunct W.A.R. Records label in Europe and Toy's Factory in Japan. Next to guitarist and mastermind Chris Amott, the album also featured drummer Peter Wildoer (Darkane, Majestic, now also in Pestilence) and bassist Martin Bengtsson, who both then moved on to join Arch Enemy, recording, releasing and touring Arch Enemy’s 1998 “Stigmata” release. Chris revisited ARMAGEDDON with 2000's “Embrace The Mystery” album, once again released in Japan on Toy's Factory but never available internationally. This album presented a rather melodic and traditional metal approach and featured Last Tribe member Rickard Bengtsson on vocals, Dick Lövgren on bass (now member of Meshuggah but previously tour-bassist for bands like Eucharist, Arch Enemy or In Flames) as well as Arch Enemy drummer Daniel Erlandsson (also previously active with Eucharist and In Flames and with the re-united Carcass these days). Following the album’s release ARMAGEDDON supported In Flames and The Haunted on a Japanese tour, which remain the only live-performances for the band until now. In 2002 ARMAGEDDON released their third and so far last album exclusively in Japan again. Simply entitled “Three”, it showcases ARMAGEDDON as a three-piece with Chris Amott handling all vocal duties next to playing guitar as well as Daniel Erlandsson on drums and new bassist Tobias Gustafsson (Eucharist). In a recent message from Triptykon frontman Thomas Fischer, the man behind such bands as Celtic Frost and Hellhammer, he revealed that the band has completed mixing their debut album, "Eparistera Daimones." The message reads as follows:
"We finished mixing Triptykon's first album at Woodshed Studio in Germany late last week. I have now returned to Switzerland, where we will have it mastered by Walter Schmid at his Oakland Recording studio in Winterthur, Switzerland, on Monday. Walter already mastered Celtic Frost's Monotheist in 2006 and thus bestowed upon it its exceptionally loud and powerful sound. He managed to do this without cranking the album into unwanted distortion or clipping, i.e., without falling prone to the pitfalls of the loudness wars of recent years. The test master he did of one of the songs from Eparistera Daimones promises the same approach.
"This will mark the musical culmination of some two years of work on this project. Regardless of whether one will hate or love the music we have created with Triptykon, Eparistera Daimones is an album with a very unique background and a truly unique history. Neither of which have been contrived. Come what may, nothing will ever be able to diminish that."
