An Interview With Brendon Small

Ever since Metalocalypse premiered on Adult Swim back in 2006, co-creator Brendon Small has become a notable figure in metal. Small, also known for the cult classic Home Movies cartoon, has spent much of the past few years working on the show, and finding a niche market that has embraced the kooky characters and hilarious songs. The show, based on the exploits of a fictional death metal group called Dethklok, has transcended the small screen into live touring. Metalocalypse finished up its fourth season this past summer, and Dethklok is touring throughout the U.S. until the end of 2012. Interview With Rob Evil of Evil Army 2

The Memphis-based three-piece thrash band Evil Army was doing well a few years ago; they were touring, had albums releasing on Housecore Records, and were making their way to the top of the thrash mountain. However, after the death of bassist Billy Bones in 2009 and internal struggles, the two remaining members and siblings guitarist/vocalist Rob Evil and drummer Michael Murder were forced to put the band on hiatus. Both musicians have also been imprisoned a number of times since then. Now that they are free to perform, they are ready to take Evil Army from the grave to the stage. Om Streaming New Official Video

San Francisco stoner band Om has posted an official black and white video for the track "State of Non-Return" from its recent album "Advaitic Songs," which is available on Drag City records. The video was directed by Terrie Samundra and edited by Walter Lech. Om has also posted a series of U.S. tour dates for November, which follows below.

Leons Massacre Releases "Blackout" Video

Dodsfall Announces Lineup Changes

Black metal band Dodsfall has checked in with the following announcement about working on new material and going through lineup changes:

"Some news in the DØDSFALL camp: The band its currently writing material for a future release to be recorded next year in Summer. We will announce more info about it in a couple of days.

"Some dates for the mini-tour are still in the process of confirmation, we will do Goteborg, Sweden for sure, still talking to promoters to play more shows in Sweden and Norway and for the Inferno Fest appearence as well.

"Our friend V-Rex and the band has decided to part ways. No hard feelings from any parts. From now Grave will be in charge of the vocals and we wish the best to V-Rex and to his band Arvas, Takk som faen for alla!

"We want to welcome VOLD (Svarthaueg) as a official bassist of the band, Velkommen til bånd tio!"

V-Rex also commented: "It was a great ride for me to sing and write the lyrics for the two first Dødsfall albums and I wish Dødsfall all the best in the future."

Disciples Of Power Announces Return Of Bassist

After officially reforming last month, Canadian act Disciples of Power has posted the following message online about bassist Chris Chapman returning to the band's lineup:

Lithuania's Awakening Sun has issued the following announcement about gearing up to enter the recording studio:

Sunday Old School: King's X

Kings-XMost bands come together with the idea of making music, but a select few combine in such a way that they make magic. That is the case with America's ultimate power trio defined King's X, although at the time these three musicians were not aware of the impact that their collaboration would have on the metal and rock community.

The time was 1979 and the place was Evangel College in Missouri. Jerry Gaskill, enrolled in the institute for a degree in Biblical studies, met Doug (dUg) Pinnick there. Jerry was from New Jersey and Doug came down from Chicago to work with a project that Greg Volz from Petra had assembled. DUg was from a religious, Baptist background himself and had been involved in several bands in Illinois along with promoting the Christian music scene in Florida. (It was during this time in Florida that one of dUg's friends got into a car wreck, collected a settlement and bought dUg his first 'official' bass guitar).
