Portland's Stonecreep has released a promo video for a demo recording of their newest track "Night and the Formless Beyond." The track is part of batch of new material the band is writing for the follow-up to "The Deathcrush Marches On...," which was originally released by the band and then re-issued last year by Old School Metal Records.
The band had this to say about the song: "We started pre-production on the new album last winter/spring, and these demos were the result. 'Night and the Formless Beyond', along with the other songs, will usher in a new era for Stonecreep. The new songs are cold, bleak, and classic-sounding. You can hear elements of the band that have always been there, but we've now moved into something very different, very special."
On October 24th, Stonecreep will head out on the Infernal Autumn West Coast Tour 2012 with Toxic Zombie. Check out the new demo track below.
Sweden's Blood Harvest Records has just released the limited edition vinyl 12" LP version of Ectovoid's "Fractured in the Timeless Abyss." Limited to 300 copies, "Fractured in the Timeless Abyss" is the debut full-length from the Birmingham, AL trio. Lyrical themes are centered around afflictions of the mind and soul and the terrors that await mankind beyond the veils of death, space and time. Norway's Acelsia recently entered the studio to being recording a new album, and vocalist Malene Markussen comments:
“We’ve recorded the album pretty fast, hoping to keep things as spontaneous as possible, by trying lots out on the fly and concentrating on getting the right feel ahead of doing things too perfectly.” Malene continues, “The songs shine even more now and the album will definitely be as uplifting and emotional as we envisioned.”
A new single titled "The Mender" is due to be released this coming November, with the finished album coming out in early 2013, and further details are expected to be coming in the near future.
Indiana's Betrayer, which split with its vocalist back in June, has checked in with the following Summer recap and announcement about working on new material:
"So it has been a confusing, yet interesting year. We lost a member earlier this summer which put a halt to a lot of shows but luckily we were able to get back our former singer and long-time friend to add in this years writing of our first full-length album.
"Few shows, but a hell of a lot of regimental Wednesday jamz have kept us sane for the past few months and with the coming end of the year we hope to put on at least a couple great shows before the clock rolls over. November 5th we will be playing with Impending Doom and some longtime local favorites.
"Pre-productions are in the works and we hope to get at least a couple done before winter sets in. Our main goal between now and next spring is to finalize the ten or so songs we have in the works, maybe playing a couple shows here or there, and provide a great bundle package of both our first EP 'Beneath the Realm of Consciousness,' and our new 'untitled' full-length, with a new t-shirt design; likely available at our next release. Feel free to hit us up and get on our asses about posting new stuff for your ears!"
Power metal act Black Abyss will release new album “Possessed” on November 2nd via Apostasy Records. The band comments: "The new Black Abyss album 'Possessed' deals with different types of obsession. Basically everyone has some sort of obsession that drives his actions and conduct. And besides it also looks damn cool!“

French act Monolithe has posted a teaser trailer online for new album "Monolithe III," which can be found below. Debemur Morti Productions also commented:
"The third full-length from French doomsters Monolithe follows a familiar pattern to its predecessors, comprising one epic song sprawled out over an incredible 52 minutes. There the similarities end: 'Monolithe III' introduces a bigger, bolder and more sophisticated incarnation of this internationally-acclaimed act, which has forged a solid reputation for itself as a genre-defining entity.
"Teeming with powerful, crushing, dark-yet-melodic Doom Metal, 'Monolithe III' ushers the listener on a journey through time and space, introducing a plethora of moods and twists along the way. Following on from the themes explored on previous releases, this new full-length follows the fate of mankind in a distant, remote future, where everything is possibly known and done. Monolithe's trademark sound has been honed and perfected, a seamless union of heavyweight rhythm guitars, twin leads and dark layers of keyboards all contained within a mystic, grandiose atmosphere.
"A landmark release for band and label alike, 'Monolithe III' soars timelessly, forging a unique link between the prehistoric past and an uncertain future. The quintessential listening experience; live it." More...

Belgium’s sludge ministers Amenra are preparing for the worldwide disbursement of their newest studio full-length "Mass V" this Autumn, their first for Neurot Recordings. The following press release was issued about the band:
"Since their 1999 inception, Amenra have infiltrated underground music communities with their grand style of organic sludge/doom metal through a plethora of LPs, EPs, and splits with Hessian, TBHR, Oathbreaker and others, through a variety of independent labels including Anvil Of Fury, Sound Devastation, Hypertension and their own Church of Ra imprint. Intense touring and festival appearances across Europe and beyond helped these diverse recordings transform into the live setting, captivating visual effects always an imperative element of the band’s on-stage dominance.
"Neurot announced Amenra’s induction into their clan in July of 2011, which was followed directly by the band’s second European tour in support of the mighty Neurosis, the bond between both parties strengthening. Last November the members of Amenra wandered through the countries neighboring Belgium in search of the perfect inspiration for their next studio opus. The journey led them to the village of Wissant in North France, where upon discovering vast lands still decimated by and littered with carnage from World War II battles invoked the proper stimulation the band needed to create Mass V.
"In May the band entered the expansive La Chapelle Studio to create Mass V, assisted by engineer Billy Anderson (Eyehategod, Neurosis, Melvins, Sleep, Swans, etc.) to bring their sonic attack to its most crushing. With possibly their most inspired material to date in hand, brandishing forty minutes of material through four movements, they utilized the photography of Stefaan Temmerman and the talents of Webecameaware for the layout, Amenra completed their vision and are preparing for the world to hear this sonic tour de force. Artwork and details of the upcoming release from Norwegian black metallers Endezzma have now been revealed. The seven track album, which will be the band’s debut full-length and a follow-up to 2008’s MCD “Alone,” is to be titled “Erotik Nekrosis” and will drop through Agonia Records on the 28th of November in Europe and the 5th of February in the USA.
“Erotik Nekrosis” has a line up of musicians who between them can lay claim to decades of experience garnered in the earlier and darker recesses of the Norwegian black metal scene, including: Morten Shax on vocals, the late Trondr Nefas (Urgehal, Vulture Lord) and Mattis Malphas (Beastcraft) on guitars, Sregroth (Urgehal) on bass, and Carl Balam (Nattefrost, Astaroth) on drums.
The album was recorded at the Slaughterhaus Studio in Oslo and crafted by producer Robert Blix. Artwork was handled by the Kazakhstani artist Alexandr Balinets. The track listing is:
1. Junkyard Oblivion
2. Enigma of the Sullen
3. Against Them All
4. Swansong of a Giant
6. Krossing Rubikon
The following press release was also issued about the band:
"Endezzma offers up the cold atmosphere that permeated the sounds that came out of the original Norwegian Black Metal scene and combines them with eerie, seductive compositions to form the epitome of nekro requiems. The Endezzma of today can trace its roots back to 1992 with front man Morten Shax’s band Dim Nagel, which, as is often the case with bands, went through the usual vicissitudes of bankrupt labels and states of hibernation. It wasn’t until 2006 that Shax decided the time was right to start playing again and, recruiting Urgehal’s Trondr Nefas, set about transforming his old band. On the way to their first festival gig in 2007 Shax changed the name of the band to Endezzma, and the transformation was well and truly under way." More...

New York death metal veterans Suffocation are currently in the finishing stages of their upcoming new album entitled "Pinnacle of Bedlam." The record was produced by the band and tracked at Full Force Studios in New York by longtime collaborator Joe Cincotta. The mixing and mastering of the album is set to be handled this time around by world renowned producer/engineer Zeuss (Hatebreed, Arsis).
"Pinnacle of Bedlam" will feature 10 genre-defining-bone-crushing tracks and also marks the return of drummer Dave Culross, who played with the band previously on the "Despise The Sun" EP. Bassist Derek Boyer offered the following update:
“The recording process of our new album, Pinnacle of Bedlam, began Monday, August 13th. We brought in our gear, mic'd up the drum kit, imported tempo maps from our pre-production sessions, then dove right in! The drum tracking came out amazing! Dave Culross killed it! Once I laid down the bass tracks, the foundation of the album was built and was very solid and ready for Terrance and Guy to begin recording guitars, which they have. Thereafter, Frank began working on his vocals. The recording process is just about wrapped up, we just have some tweaking to do before we send it off to get mixed and mastered.”
"The meaning of the album title Pinnacle of Bedlam is the tipping point or most elevated moment as we approach the chaotic climax of this existence,” added guitarist Terrance Hobbs. “The cosmic scale teeters and the fate of humanity hangs in the balance. People should expect nothing less than sheer brutality, as we perform together with this incredible line up! We feel this CD will be the best Suffocation album ever to have been released and are confident the fans will love it."

The Devil's Blood has announced the band's final round of live shows for the year, which can be found below. The occult rock outfit also comments:
"After a tremendously successful North American tour and a short round of conquest over the European festival circuit we have now finalized the planning for this humble but strategically chosen list of venues, where we will celebrate the Bacchanalian festivities of the Saturnalia, the ancient Roman festival of the undoing of law and master/slave role reversal.
"With these Rituals we aim to inspire within all in attendance the rebellious nature of He Who is Without Light and make them realize their Divine potential and discover within themselves the kernel of fierceness and power known as the Inner Flame.
"We hope that all in attendance will heed the Call of the Wild and release their restraint to find in wine, truth, in fire, strength, in blood, love and in madness, freedom. This tour has been dubbed The Everlasting Satournalia.
"Ván Records has taken the opportunity with these Rituals to promote a new, young member in its roster and German Heavy Metal Traditionalists ATTIC have been selected as a direct support."
