Epica Posts New Live Video Online

"17 months without playing. 17 months without doing what we love most..." - while being struck by the same fate as every other band on this planet, Epica seized the chance to create a massive concept for a streaming event that should go down in the books as one of the most ambitious shows in the era of the pandemic. Vexed To Embark On UK Tour In January

Finally, it's happening. Vexed will be taking the songs from their 2021 album Culling Culture out on the road and across the UK.

Next year will see the Hertfordshire four-piece dominate venues by performing their unforgivingly brutal alt-metal across the country. Speaking about the tour, the band say: "Our UK headline tour will be liberating for us and our debut album, 'Culling Culture.' Bringing these songs to the stage is where they truly belong and need to be heard. It’s been 2 long years since our last tour, which means we’ve had a lot of time to simmer and now we’re at boiling point."

Earlier this year Vexed's debut album "Culling Culture" was released to rapturous acclaim. Combining aggressive groove, contemporary street swagger, and threads of progressive atmosphere, the band tap into what makes the new wave of metal so visceral and intriguing. Vexed provide big guitar solos, technically wondrous instrument playing, and the intensely ripping roar of vocalist Megan Targett. All of this is accompanied by fantastic lyrics and vocals that reflect on post-modern society, and in particular the rise of cancel culture and the world's latest social phenomena of public ostracism.

Presale tickets are available now from here and they will go on general sale tomorrow.

The tour dates are as follows: More...

Khemmis Streaming Decibel Flexi Single

Doomed heavy metal outfit Khemmis have partnered with Decibel Magazine today, to reveal a stream of a new single titled "Sigil." The crushing b-side was previously only available as part of Decibel's Flexi Series that accompanies the magazine's current November issue #205. Listen now!

Commenting on the track guitarist/vocalist Ben Hutcherson states,

"'Sigil' is a d-beat-driven rager that we wrote and recorded during the Deceiver sessions with Dave Otero. It combines hallmarks of the “Khemmis sound” - harmonized riffs, pounding drums, and soaring vocal melodies punctuated with vicious screams - with a decidedly bleaker, more aggressive approach to our signature style of doomed heavy metal. When Decibel approached us about contributing a new song to their Flexi series, we knew that Sigil was the perfect candidate and that it required a powerful visual companion piece. Enter our friend Daniel Warren Johnson (Murder Falcon, Wonder Woman: Dead Earth) whose monochromatic illustration of otherworldly horror perfectly captured the apocalyptic heart of the song."

You can hear the song by heading to the Decibel website.

Mantic Ritual Shares First New Song In 12 Years

Reunited thrashers Mantic Ritual have unveiled their new single, "Crusader." The first new music in 12 years from the reunited group – featuring original members Dan Wetmore (vocals/guitars), Jeff Potts (guitars), and Ben Mottsman (bass) alongside new drummer Carlos Cruz (Warbringer, Exmortus, Power Trip) – is on all streaming and download platforms now. Pre-orders for a limited-edition (300) 7-inch vinyl with "Crusader" as the A-side and the band’s cover of the Mercyful Fate classic "Black Funeral" is set to be released in early 2022 are available here.

Says vocalist/guitarist Dan Wetmore, "What’s up, metal wackos, death stare daddies and thrash ragers? I’m pleased to announce the first Mantic Ritual release since our 2009 debut on Nuclear Blast. Though it has been a while, the metal flame never died. We aren’t dropping an album at this time, but rather putting out a few smaller releases in anticipation. It’s been a while and we’re stoking the fire, revvin’ up, getting our shit together. Via M-Theory Audio, this 7-inch is just a small taste of what’s to come, and paves the way for a worthy successor to 'Executioner,' condensing our thrash, death and punk influences into something competent and pointed.

"When I was 18, the thrash revival seemed like a nice jumping point for the pissed-off, metal-head prick I was. I'm still pissed-off, might still be a prick, but shit has landed and it's way more concise, and I think, way better. Whatever furious adjective-filled heavy metal tagline you choose, I promise the new Mantic Ritual will deliver. Sure, a 7-inch isn’t a big release, but I’m sure it’s bigger than most of you...stay tuned, mates!" More...

Jinjer Postpones Canadian Shows

After dropping one of the most anticipated metal albums of the year, "Wallflowers" - which topped the charts worldwide by achieving #1 and top 10 rankings in the US, UK, Canada, Germany and beyond - Jinjer wasted no time hitting the road in Europe, once again proving that if there is a chance to tour- even in these strange times, that Jinjer will do almost anything (legally!) to give their fans a show to remember.

This European Tour, together with French metalists Hypno5e and Napalm Records labelmates Space Of Variations, was not only Jinjer's first tour since Covid-19 put a stop to everything, but for many local promoters, venues and fans alike – it was the first international tour to hit their cities since March 2020, and served as a beacon to the music community that touring is indeed possible, if you take a few calculated risks.

The band stated to fans on social media:
"EU TOUR IS OVER! Wow, what a tour this was! For JINJER, as well as our brothers in Hypno5e and Space Of Variations, this run was important on so many different levels. For one, we were one of the first tours to cross borders since the pandemic started - and many shows we were the first full capacity shows for promoters and clubs since then as well, or the first metal shows, or the first shows you got to watch standing up with very little restrictions - and not to mention our very first tour since March 2020! This tour was hard for all involved, but it was 200% worth it. For all other bands wondering if they should move their tours to 2022… please do not - the clubs, the promoters, the local crews, the caterers, the local bands and especially the fans NEED you to play this year and make things normal again! If we can do it then you probably can as well… Thanks to each and every single one of you that came out to these shows - we made a small piece of history together!!! PS: COMING TO AMERICA TOUR 2021 IS UP NEXT!!"

In addition to their several already sold out North American tour dates (including Nashville, TN, which has just reached capacity), Jinjer is thrilled to reveal that they've not only added two new dates in Rochester, NY and Harrisburg, PA, but have expanded rooms at select stops. The Milwaukee, WI show at The Rave has been upgraded to the main room, while the show in Tempe, AZ will move to the Marquee Theater (previously purchased tickets are valid).

Due to current Covid capacity restrictions in Canada, the previously scheduled shows in Toronto, ON and Montreal, QC - which weren't able to be relocated - will be postponed to 2022.

The North American tour schedule is now as follows: More...

Negura Bunget Releases Second Song From New Album

Negura Bunget has revealed an edited version of the amazing track "Tinere?e Fara Batrâne?e" ("Youth without Age") as the second spellbinding single taken from the Romanian black metal pioneers' final album "Zau" ("Old God"). This release will not only constitute the band's swansong, but it will also provide the conclusion of the "Transylvanian trilogy" as envisioned by the late Gabriel "Negru" Mafa. "Zau" has been slated for release on November 26.

"Zau" is the legacy of drummer and mastermind "Gabriel "Negru" Mafa, who tragically passed far too early at the age of 42 years on March 21, 2017. This album has been completed and respectfully created upon Negru's original drum-track recordings by the last active line-up of Negura Bunget. You can pre-order the album here.

Negura Bunget comments: "The title of 'Tinere?e Fara Batrâne?e', which translated into English means 'Youth without Age' is inspired by a tale of Petre Ispirescu", explains singer Tibor Kati. "Petre Ispirescu was an important editor and folklorist, who gathered and published Romanian folk tales in the 19th century and thus played an important part in the preservation of our heritage. His recounting of the story 'Tinere?e fara batrâne?e ?i via?a fara de moarte' ('Youth without Age and Life without Death'), which provided Negru's main inspiration for this song, revolves around the themes of the human condition, immortality, and death. The melancholic reed instrument at the opening of the track is actually an Armenian duduk." More...

Unearthing the Metal Underground: Deber

Whether we are talking about the likes of bands as varied as Candlemass, Count Raven, Isole, or Witchcraft, there has been a rich history of doom metal in Sweden for decades. An impressive funeral doom act has recently blossomed from Swedish soil: Deber. While the band is new, its members have been around the block. The duo, operating under the ever-so-lovely pseudonyms “DIE” and “HCF,” have been involved in the Swedish dark metal scene for years with projects like Anguish, Ondskapt, Avksy, and Acolytes of Moros. The Three Tremors To Release New Album In November

The Three Tremors, featuring Tim "Ripper" Owens , Harry "The Tyrant" Conklin, and Sean "The Hell Destroyer," have announced their new album "Guardians Of The Void" and a corresponding US Tour for Nov 2021. You can check out the video for the first single, "Bone Breaker" below.

Coming off the successful release of their self-titled debut album, several North American and European tours, release of the solo versions of the first album, and some festival performances, the Three Tremors shot out of a cannon at a frantic pace. They were pursuing an aggressive pace of live performances when the shutdown forced them to cut short their North American tour in the middle of their run in early 2020. They wasted no time however and got to work on another new album. Now their sophomore effort "Guardians Of The Void" is ready for blast off and will hit the streets worldwide November 5th, 2021.

Twelve songs are found on this wicked rocker of an album and once again they cover all the bases of heavy metal. As with all Steel Cartel releases, only the songs that receive video releases will be on the streaming platforms, so the physical medium and the fans that support and collect them, are the bands priority and focus. And speaking of great physical product, the band has once again hired Marc Sasso to do the cover artwork. Marc Sasso is best known for his work with such companies as Marvel, the WWE and Halford, Dio, Cage and many others. He has hit it out of the park once again with this haunting, other-worldly painting that captures the mysterious essence of the album title perfectly. More...
