Blues Metallers The Midnight Ghost Train were involved in a vehicle accident while on tour in Europe. Singer and guitarist Steve Moss explained, "Today while driving in Germany, a guy decided to put his car in reverse and came speeding down the middle of a main road without looking and he slammed into us and totaled our car. What a headache this is." The Midnight Ghost Train's tour will not be cut short though. "Nothing will stop us from doing what we do." The band books their own tours and are constantly on the road either in the States or Europe. They will be touring through Germany and the Netherlands through October before touring America later this year.

Kelly comments on the tour, "I have two main goals with this tour: The first is to play all of my new songs, as I will hitting the studio to record my new record the day after the tour finishes. The other is to keep forging a new path for underground folk and country inspired artists such as Munly, Bob and myself; this is something that I am committed to doing."

Neurot Records has announced the signing of Ides of Gemini. Consisting of singer/bassist Sera Timms of Black Math Horseman and established film and music journalist, J. Bennett (guitar/backing vocals) of Terrorizer and Revolver Magazine, the Los Angeles-based group is tough to categorize, but a member of the press described it as "dream doom."
Ides of Gemini recorded and self-released a four-song EP, "The Disruption Writ" in 2010. The group plans to release its full-length debut via Neurot in 2012.
“It’s all about that moment—that moment when a piece of music comes seemingly from nowhere and is exactly what you were looking for, but you didn’t know it,” says Neurot boss and Neurosis guitarist/vocalist Steve Von Till. “I remember the moment when Ides of Gemini warped my brain. I received an email from Scott Kelly in May. The subject heading was simply, ‘J. Bennett’s band is killer!’ and had a link. I had known J. for a while as a stalwart supporter of all that is good and heavy out there, but I had no idea he made music. I clicked the link and was completely hypnotized for the duration of the demo. As soon as it ended and I realized I had been completely captivated, I replied to Scott’s email: ‘Totally fucking killer.’ Then I immediately emailed J. and told him how awesome I thought it was. A few conversations later, and we were working together. It was beautiful and meant to be. Ides of Gemini is amazing!”
“We’re not religious people, but getting the nod from Steve Von Till and Scott Kelly is like getting onstage only to find Moses and John The Baptist in the front row, wearing your band’s t-shirts,” Bennett enthuses. “And we don’t even have shirts yet, which makes it all the more incredible. The point, though, is this: The impact Neurosis has had on our psyches over the years is immeasurable. ‘Honored’ doesn’t quite cover it. But before anyone gets too excited, I should also probably mention that we sound nothing like Neurosis.”
Ides of Gemini plays its first show in Northern California at the Oakland Metropolitan Opera House on October 15th. The performance will be part of the Blood, Sweat + Vinyl Music and Film Festival.
Pulverised Records has announced the signing of Grave Desecrator. Forming in 1998, the Brazilian death metal act arrives at Pulverised with a resume including two full-length recordings and multiple EPs.
Bassist Necrogoat comments, "We're really ravished to be signed with Pulverised Records, a label that really fits to our music in terms of ideological aspects and works professionally. We are sure this partnership will result in a tormenting sonic deliverance that will lead you all to a thunderous and malignant holocaust! The new album shall come in 2012, and we promise it will not disappoint! It will contain lots of good surprises on it, but with the same infamous essence we have become known for! We are really eager for this release! We are the BRAZILIAN BLACKEST METAL MASSACRE!"
Added Pulverised Records' A&R Manager Calvin Chiang: "Anyone with a knowledge of traditional Brazilian death metal will know most distinguishing quality: its rabid, unstoppable force of christ-bashing sonic blasphemy. Grave Desecrator is of course no exception and we believe the follow-up to (2012) Insult will definitely exceed our expectations. A teaser trailer has been posted online for the new movie "After Party Massacre," which will feature music from Incantation and Asphyx. The trailer is available below.
The creators of the movie also issued the following statement:
"Giving a new twist to horror, the Afterparty Massacre, brings metal, blood and gore back to the screen! Written and directed by both Kristoff (of Horrormerch.com) and Kyle Severn (of Incantation and Acheron), the Afterparty Massacre is one killer party with mind-blowing amounts of blood, metal, flesh and a huge death metal/industrial soundtrack from 16Volt, Asphyx, Incantation, Ventana and more!
"The After Party Massacre centers around a mysterious female fan - Scarlett - who attends a live performance by the metal bands Incantation and Soulless. At this show - Scarlett soon found herself thrown into the dark depths of torture and depravity showing what happens when you push - an already damaged mind - too far. During this show Scarlett encounters a forcibly rough fan that had followed her into an empty corner of the venue. During this altercation she has flashbacks of a dark past and it transforms her into a bloodthirsty killer on a mission to kill her attacker plus anyone and everyone else in her way (friend - fan and foe alike) until only a pile of bodies is left within this bloody massacre.
"With Scarlett being as patient and calculating as she is torturous and demented, her killing spree is a precise and bloody massacre to witness. Filled with sex, metal, and an unpredictable killer who uses an arsenal of axes, sex toys, box cutters, and power saws as her tools of torture and dismemberment. The After Party Massacre is a huge blood filled splatterfest that is too brutal to miss!"

TesseracT has gone back to the band's roots with the release of an instrumental version of "One." Check out the song below. Bassist Amos Williams explains:
“TesseracT began as an instrumental project in Acle's filthy cat ridden bedroom, so it has always had quite a strong instrumental focus. That's not to say that we don't enjoy vocals, we love them! But, it is worth noting that with every song we write, we like for it to be able to stand up on its own with or without vocals. We've always had the mind to, about six months after the initial release of 'One', to then release the instrumental version. It’s something that the fans have always asked us to do, and we felt now was the correct time to do so.”

Edgar Allen Poe died broke and mad—his creative genius never realized until after his death. It seems Kyuss’ influence wasn’t felt until after its demise. Fortunately for the group, these desert rockers didn’t have to literally die to make an impact. Sixteen years after disbanding, Kyuss has returned and judging by the massive gathering inside Stubb’s 2,000-plus-capacity amphitheater, their popularity has snowballed during this time.
I have nothing for comparison because I didn’t catch Kyuss during the first part of the nineties—their active years. If the few patrons I spoke to were a microcosm of the Kyuss live experience, most of the thirty-something crowd were also unable to catch them the first time around. Waiting fifteen years and wishing the group would get back together may be cause for such a large gathering, but the group’s status as the forerunners of the stoner rock movement, a hot trend in the modern rock scene, probably has something to do with the turnout.
The popularity of Josh Homme’s bands, Queens of the Stone Age and Them Crooked Vultures may have also led many to hear Homme’s trademark guitar play in Kyuss. This would explain, in part, the large number of younger fans. Some of these youngsters came with their parents, as seen by the fans standing next to us. Homme wasn’t on hand and the group came out as Kyuss Lives!, but this didn’t seem to affect attendance numbers or crowd reaction.
New comers MonstrO warmed up an unassuming crowd. Consisting of Torche, Danzig and ex-Blood Simple members, these Georgians (and one Floridian) were a good fit for Kyuss Lives! stoner rockin’ style. Performing in front of the headliner’s backdrop, which depicted a silhouette of a hawk or raven soaring in the shadow of a multi-hued sun, MonstrO kicked out six or seven tunes of a varying nature.
Bevan Davies' drum play produced a big thud. It’s no wonder he has pounded skins for Danzig. The group’s grainy guitar sound brought to mind Kyuss, an influence bassist Kyle Sanders made known during an interview prior to the show.
Some of MonstO’s songs referenced early nineties grunge, ala Soundgarden and Alice in Chains. The song “Pyro” related an obvious Alice in Chains groove (William DuVall of Alice in Chains produced their current, debut album), while Charlie Suarez nailed down the melodious, skyward voice of Chris Cornell. MonstrO didn’t bring down the house, but their half-hour performance surely gained them a bigger fan base. More...

Nuclear Blast Records Europe announced the signing of U.S. metalcore band Like Moths To Flames. The band will release the LP "When We Don't Exist" on November 11, 2011 in Europe. The release date for North America is November 8, 2011 through Rise Records.
Nuclear Blast posted the following press release:
"Ohio based metalcore quintett LIKE MOTHS TO FLAMES just signed an European record deal with Nuclear Blast Records.
"Commented singer and mainman Chris Roetter: 'We are very excited to have our debut album, 'When We Don't Exist,' released by Nuclear Blast in Europe. Their history of signing incredibly heavy bands combined with some of their more recent signings excites us greatly. We cannot wait to come over to Europe in support of the album, and are thankful to have a label there who will ensure our music is heard!'
" 'Welcome to the fold, boys!" states the Nuclear Blast headquarter. 'We're proud to work with LMTF from now on. Their EP already blew us away; but their debut album simply kicks even more ass. A lot more varied, a lot more matured and a real inferno of modern metalcore. Even if there's a lot of melody to LMTFs sound, the band definitely focusses on heavy riffing and brutal breakdowns. Watch out!' "
Within Temptation announced that mainman Robert Westerholt will take some time off to focus on other activities for the band, and WT live guitarist Stefan Helleblad will take his place. the band introduced Helleblad as a full member through a new video post (seen below).

Now it’s time to introduce Stefan to the world!
Stefan has been working with the band behind the scenes for some years already. He was involved in the production of the latest three records. Being the very gifted guitar player he is, we asked him to join the band.
We introduce to you: Stefan!"

Dan Swano announced that defunct Swedish band Edge of Sanity has re-issued the band's 1990 Demo "Kur-Nu-Gi-A" on picture vinyl. The release can be purchased through Black Mark at this location.
Swano commented "I always felt we 'grew up' a bit too fast. We got caught up in the growing death metal scene and tuned down the guitars and bought the 'right' distortion pedals and tried to be the new Entombed.
"This demo showcase[s] the original sound of Edge of Sanity. During this period we still listened a lot to progressive and challenging metal of all kinds and I still believe the songs have their own true version on this tape.
"I transferred the original 4 track cassette masters, using state of the art digital technology, and remixed them and finally gave them the sound I dream t of giving them 21 years ago.
"The dream of having this classic recording released on a 12" picture disc have come true.
"While digging in the vaults, I found a lot more interesting stuff, so expect more 'post mortem' releases from Edge Of Sanity. You can't live forever - but can you be dead forever??"
My Kingdom Music announced the signing of Norwegian black metal band So Much For Nothing. The album "Livsgnist" is due for release on January 16, 2012. A album preview can be heard below.
The official press release reads:
"My Kingdom Music is absolutely delighted to announce the signing of a great amazing act coming from Norway. They represent the biggest surprise for this end of 2011, they are SO MUCH FOR NOTHING and are formed by Erik Unsgaard (Sarkom) who gave life with Uruz (Urgehal) on drums and some special guests (Niklas Kvarforth from Shining, Peter Huss from Shining, Ingvild Sareeta Kaare ex Ram-Zet, Trondr Nefas from Urgehal, Seidemann from 1349, Aethyris McKay ex-Absu) to a wonderful and avantgardish Suicidal Dark Black music with Dark Rock and New Wave nuances.
"Their album called 'Livsgnist', ready to be released in CD and LP format on January 16th, 2012, presents a sound that is unique, bringing in instruments as saxophone, trumpet, cello, violin and flute among others, making for sure an original work! An overall desperate and gloomy feeling mixed to the natural rage of the Black Metal is what comes out from So Much For Nothing and you wont lose a moment to be enchanted by this delirium! This is definitively an album for fans of Joyless, Shining, Den Saakaldte, Lifelover and My Dying Bride!
"Inspired by general decadence over the years, So Much For Nothing serves you the finest tunes of dark and arcane Black Metal-Pop/Rock. Expect a masterpiece that will change your attitude towards this kind of sounds."
Bring Me The Horizon frontman Oli Sykes was attacked onstage during the band's show in Salt Lake City last night (October 3) while on a headlining U.S. tour. Sykes became angry when bottles were thrown onstage in the direction of the band members and called for those who threw them to either leave or come onstage and address him personally. Some crowd members took him up on his offer and attacked the vocalist. You can watch fan filmed footage of the incident below.
Sykes was unharmed by the incident and returned to the stage a half an hour later to finish the band's set.
He later updated his blog with the following about the incident:
Just to clear any rumours… Nothing happened last night apart from a bunch of soft lads stomped on a lil kids head 5 seconds into our set, so we stopped playing, had a bit of a banter with em telling em to do one, then some fatty gets on stage tries to hit me, in which he completely fails, misses and falls over, and then gets sparked out by someone In our touring party. The “crew” then responded by running around the venue, breaking a very young girls jaw and stamping on her, and injuring a few more of our young fans. Proper hard init.
Not a member in Bmth or any of our touring party got so much as a scratch, oh one did want me to know he fucked my wife though, which hit me hard as you know I’ve been happily married for a long time now :)
Fucking mongs eh? What can u do?
