Norwegian extreme avant-garde metal masters Quadrivium return after several years of hiatus with a new album, "Methocha," due out via SoulSeller Records on November 23rd, 2012 in Europe and February 3rd, 2013 in the USA.
The self-produced effort was recorded at various studios all over the world. It was finally mixed in Tower Studio, France and mastered in Panic Room Studio, Sweden. The eight tracks feature members from Ragnarok, Augury, and Dolls of Disaster with a guest appearance by Carl August Tidemann (ex-member of Arcturus, Winds).
Chief songwriter and keyboardist Erlend Antonsen adds: "Four years after our first album we return with an expanded line-up, our strongest material to date and a production to match. Venturing ever deeper into the avant-garde side of metal and finding different atmospheres to explore, we have finally managed to put it on tape and present it to you in the form of the Methocha album. Expect everything from full-on metal, mystical atmospheres to dives into a much darker abyss." More...

Greek symphonic metallers Nightall have completed work for their new album, "Cassiopeia," which is set for release in January 2013 through Metal Blade Records. The label comments:
"The recordings took place in four different places, a fragment process that which Nightfall is quite familiar with. Vocals and keys were recorded in Greece (Soundflakes studios & Cyberia) while the drums were tracked in Germany in the Soundlodge studios. Guitars and bass were recorded in the U.S. in Nashville, Tennessee at Boomcave studios.
"More than on the previous album, Astron Black & The Thirty Tyrants, in Cassiopeia the spirit of old school heavy metal lurks in almost every riff. Unlike Astron Black, there are more fast tempos as well as grindy ones bringing memories back from the mid 90's times of now cult release Athenian Echoes. The vocals remain very, very heavy and, thanks to Soundflakes amazing gear and Jörg Uken's super mixing skills, fit great with the melodic leads, moreover creating a solid wall of sound where vocalist Efthimis comfortably sits and spreads his inner daemons out to the world! Profound Lore Records has issued the following announcement about inking a deal with A.M.S.G:
"We are proud to announce that the latest addition to the Profound Lore collective comes in the form of Canadian black metal terrorist unit A.M.S.G. Masterminded by the notorious Angelfukk Witchhammer (of Ouroboros, Rites Of Thy Degringolade, Gloria Diaboli fame), A.M.S.G. play threatening uncompromising black metal in the ancient vein that conjures the glorious vibe portrayed by the classic old school cult days of such luminaries as Necromantia, Mortuary Drape, Rotting Christ, Samael, and Varathron, while portraying a vibe reminiscent of the more singular present-day black metal cult bands such as Negative Plane, Avichi, and Weapon."
Angelfukk Witchhammer had this to say about the conspiracy: “I am honoured to say that Profound Lore will release the full length follow-up to our 'The Principle Of Evil Becomes The Ideal Of The Promethean' EP. This work of sonic terrorism art will be titled 'Anti-Cosmic Tyranny' and in the vein of the EP, shall hail and push forth the awakened era of Esoteric Luciferion Draconis Supremacy. True Black Metal is a CRIME against humanity. WE WILL NEVER STOP….”
A.M.S.G. will enter the studio early 2013 to lay down the “Anti-Cosmic Tyranny” debut full-length. Look for a spring 2013 release date.
Charlotte, North Carolina occult rock band Bloody Hammers will release its debut album "Bloody Hammers" on November 23rd in Europe via Soulseller Records (February 3rd, 2013 in North America via Soulseller Records, distributed by RED).
Described as "an addictive album with a retro edge that appeals to both the Nick Cave and Black Sabbath sides of the brain," the album was recorded and produced by bassist / vocalist Anders Manga at NC's Greystone Studios. The following press released as also issued about the album:
"Named after the singularly atomic Roky Erickson & The Aliens song of the same name, Bloody Hammers play dark, hallucinatory heavy music that is as primitive and powerful as a dry stone wall and propelled by bassist Anders Manga's captivatingly haunting voice. Pre-orders for the limited edition CD and LP versions of the album will also begin on November 23rd at this location.
"Bloody Hammers' full length debut is an explosion of heavy sound and infectious melodies that has been called a psych / hard rock / horror fan's dream come true and is sure to find favor with music fans who can dig an array of dark sounds from Electric Wizard and Acid Bath to Alice Cooper and David Bowie to Joy Division and Bauhaus. The self-titled LP captures the band's strong display of dooming riffs, dashboard-pounding grooves and vocals that segue from angry wail to soaring croon while warning listeners of impending doom. Headed to a black mass love-in? Bloody Hammers' debut is for you!"
"This album is a heavy and melodic collection of evil songs, and I could not be happier with the result," says Manga. "Stylistically, I wanted to make a horror fueled hard rock album and this debut LP reflects that very sentiment and much more." More...

The Amenta is proud to announce the release of “V01D/CHOKE HOLD” through Listenable Records. Combining the full 16 track digital release “V01D," with the title track and cover of Godflesh’s "Christbait Rising" from the “Chokehold” E. (released in 2012 on Itunes by Listenable Records), this is the first physical release of all these recordings.
Both were released as placeholders before the 2013 release of the new album by The Amenta, “Flesh is Heir,” and show two completely different sides of the band. Listenable comments:
"V01D is an epic, melodic hymn which is worlds away from the angular dissonance of previous The Amenta releases. It leaves your so-called black metal for dead. Choke Hold is a dirty, violent re-imagining of Godflesh’s sound circa Streetcleaner. The lyrics are a blues because repetition is the only way through your skull.
"V01D/CHOKE HOLD will be available exclusively from The Amenta on the upcoming European tour with Obituary, Macabre and Psycroptic as well as from the Listenable Records store here. This is an extremely limited pressing. The Amenta will release their new album on March 25th." More...
