After the members of Floridian blackened death metal band Infernaeon fired each other earlier this year, the group has now announced the addition of Eric Rhodes as lead vocalist and frontman.
Kevin Gibbons, bassist, was quoted as saying "We all think it's great to work with a guy like Eric. His voice and range are amazing and he really contributes to our sound. Jeramie Kling, Steven Harger, Dave Stein, and Taylor Nordberg are all on this next album too ... so it's going to be brutal."
Steven Harger, guitarist, added "We have a lot in store for the next recording...I'm really convinced it's going to be the best album yet for the band."
Infernaeon will be entering the studio to record the band's next album in February 2012 with James Murphy (TESTAMENT/DEATH/OBITUARY) of SafeHouse Production, Corey Smoot (GWAR/MENSREA) of Slave Pit Studios, and with mixing/mastering at The Abyss Studio in Sweden by Peter Tägtgren (HYPOCRISY).
Attika 7 is a brand new force in the ever-evolving heavy metal world, featuring Evan Seinfeld (formerly of Biohazard), lead guitarist, songwriter and famed motorcycle builder Rusty Coones, bassist Tony Campos (founding member of Static X, who also currently performs in Soulfly), and drummer Dustin Schoenhofer from Walls of Jericho and Bury Your Dead fame. Attika 7 will be releasing a debut album later this year and is currently working on a first video for the single "Serial Killer."
Evan feels that Attika 7 is the beginning of a new chapter. “As much as Biohazard has been the biggest part of my musical past and my main musical focus for more than two decades, it is time for me to do something new. It is time for me to cement my musical future. I continue to stand behind the ideals projected in songs I wrote like ‘Down For Life’... and philosophies like standing up for what you believe in no matter what and sticking by your true friends and family to the end! I have so many creative ideas that needed a new home to flourish and I am so grateful for the opportunity to be a member of Attika 7!”
“It is time for me to go on to something exciting and fresh to pursue my dreams and expand my horizons in a more positive situation for me,” adds Evan. “Biohazard is a band that I personally conjured and founded in 1987 and helped me to realize many of my dreams, see the world, and connect with many fans everywhere. I hope to keep the memory of Biohazard where it belongs, in a place of dignity and respect!”

Norwegian act Dodheimsgard recently parted ways with vocalist Kvohst, and the band has now issued the following statement about upcoming activity:
"Dear all, even though Kvosht's departure seems sudden and abrupt I can assure you that it is not. This decision was in fact a welcome one by all parties involved and has no consequence towards the ambition that the band has set out for the forthcoming years. Hence, the job of bringing forth a new band going under the dhg banner was set in motion a long time ago. I never wanted to make a big fuss about the changes within the band this time around, since no new release has been offered and nothing really significant has happened since Kvosht last stepped out of the band in 2007. Quite frankly, I did not see it as that big of a deal.
"In this context, I guess Kvosht's statements seem a bit confusing in relation to whats really going on in the Asylum these days...I can only guess that he wanted to address those among you who are his fans, and let you know what he is doing next. Unfortunately, this has also caused some confusion among promoters, ticket buyers for upcoming shows, and Dødheimsgard followers in general.
"I therefore find it appropriate to make you all aware that the path of Dødheimsgard has suffered no setbacks nor come to a halt. Upcoming shows and the work going into the next album will continue as planned. It's all been a long process in which to see what is manageable inside the confines of a small group of people that are pushing in the same direction. In order to get to where you want to be, you sometimes need to try certain things before you reach the perfect balance on the scale. It's a natural progression and evolution of any collective outlet that does not work at a 100 percent of its capacity. It can be due to different priorities, logistics, creative differences etc. But whatever it is, you take what you have and slowly tune, turn and twist it into a clear minded exotic beast that will offer expressive music in various forms for years to come.
"Sometimes that means departing with someone that has brought a lot to the band in the past. So, even though it has amounted to much extra work, it was all necessary in relation to bringing the band out of auto-pilot mode and to reconnect with the passion, the hunger, and the ambition to create music with no inhibitions. More news is coming soon."
Allegaeon checked in through its new management company, Blkheart Group, with the following update:

With an armament of new songs and a live show that is as engaging as any, and a furious vocal delivery from enigmatic front man Ezra Haynes, they are sure to win over many more fans in the coming months.
"The band had this to say about joining with BlkHeart Group: “We here in the Allegaeon camp are happy to announce that we have joined with BlkHeart Group. This is a perfect fit for us; Two up and coming groups working together to help each other continue in the paths of success that we have already established thus far in our short careers. 2012 should prove to be the most exciting and rewarding year in Allegaeon’s short history and with BlkHeart Group on board will no doubt, make for great year and an even greater future'. ”

This week is our fourth exploration of the metal scene in Perth, Western Australia. You can also check out Part 1 (death metal), Part 2, and Part 3 (thrash metal).
The number of good bands that come out of such a small, remote place is quite staggering - it's just a shame that most of them don't get the opportunity to take their music to a wider audience. Today's highlighted bands have, to their credit, made some inroads into the international market.
With two full length albums under its belt, numerous local and national awards, and an appearance at Australia’s largest festival The Big Day Out, progressive metal outfit Chaos Divine has started to get some recognition in their home country. Not content with that, in 2009 the band played at the Progpower Europe Festival in The Netherlands as well as some club dates in Belgium.
March 2011 saw the release of Chaos Divine's second album, The Human Connection. While recorded in Perth, for the mixing and mastering the band managed to score the talents of Swedish producer Jens Bogren, known for his work with Opeth and Katatonia. The album is also available internationally on iTunes. The sound combines progressive elements and melodic death metal with particularly outstanding guitar work and great clean vocals, and will appeal to fans of Opeth and Dream Theater as well as fans of European-style melodic death metal.

"Myself, Andy, Paul, Rich and Gav have been auditioning potential replacements for the past couple of months and we have now decided on who will be the man to take up the frontman role in the band. We would like to thank everyone who has submitted recordings and traveled to auditions as well.
