U.S. traditional heavy metal band, Christian Mistress has completed recording its sophomore release and first for Relapse Records. The full-length is entitled "Possession" and currently set for a February 28, 2012 release. The LP and was recorded at Louder Studios (Melvins, Saviours, Red Sparowes, Unwound) and mastered at Golden Mastering.

Italian act White Skull has issued the following brief announcement about gearing up to enter the recording studio and begin work on a new full-length album:
"The band will enter the studio on 3 November to begin work on new album, the title will be 'Under This Flag.' In the near future other news."

Bangladesh based metal act Optic Perception has posted the "Nocturnal Dawn" single online for streaming, which can be heard in the player below. Nardwuar has posted a bizarre video interview online with Mikael Akerfeldt of Opeth in Vancouver, BC. You can check out the clip below. Opeth is currently touring in support of the new album "Heritage" (reviewed here) in North America alongside Katatonia.
The closing track "Incense and Myrrh" off the new Arch/Matheos album "Sympathetic Resonance" has been posted online and is available for streaming in the player below. "Sympathetic Resonance" saw its release this September, and you can check out Metalunderground.com's review of the album here.

Denison, Texas based act Texas Hippie Coalition has checked in with the following brief announcement about canceling the band's previously scheduled show tonight in Lafayette:
"Because of problems with our RV, we are forced to cancel tonight's show in Layfayette, IN. We're sincerely apologize and we'll see yall soon!"

U.K. melodic metal act Lost Effect has posted a teaser track online from the band's upcoming new EP. You can check out the teaser through the player available at the official Lost Effect website here. The band also previously commented on the EP's progress:

Thrash old-schooler Katon W. De Pena and his current line-up of Hirax have released a video shoot promo for the official video the band is filming for "Broken Neck." That track came from the band's last full-length, "El Rostro de la Muerte." Hirax is also currently writing new material as well as gearing up for two 2012 tour dates in Peru - the 29th of March in Lima and the 31st in Arequipa. More...
Vallenfyre has teamed up with Decibel Magazine to release a music video for the track "Cathedrals of Dread," which is off the band's new album "A Fragile King." Spain's Non Essential has checked in with the following update about recruiting a new vocalist to front the band:
"It's official! Alberto Andrade (Etérea, InMute) is the new Non Essential singer. It's a pleasure to have someone with the level, the qualities, and willingness of Alberto.
"During the first rehearsal things have been flowing and we all found ourselves very comfortable. It is hard work ahead, but this is definitely our man. Awaken the creature!"

Sweden's Valkyrja has issued the following announcement about the live guitarists to perform with the band on upcoming tour dates:
"The first assault of the 'Under the Sign of Hell Tour 2011' is only a few days and the knives has been sharpened to carve deep! As we won't participate each night - the 4th of December at Atheens being our last contribute, the Valkyrja part of the tour has been titled 'The Final Contamination' to, for the last time, highlight the 'Contamination' album and later put all focus on the future.
"We are proud to announce the live guitarists for this tour: D.G. (Frostmoon Eclipse, ex-Glorior Belli / 1st - 16th of November) and Thelberg (Spazmosity, 17th of November - 4th of December).
"New items from Ketzer Records are added to the web store. However, the store will be closed until mid-December. We refer to responsible labels and official distributors in the meantime.

Digmetalworld has announded the release of "Against Their Will - Volume Three," a compilation album for collectors that contains fifteen of the pioneers of metal music in Chile. The beginnings of the Chilean metal culture are showcased here, featuring tracks from the 1986-1991 era by artists like Vastator, Totten Korps and Atomic Aggressor. U.K. black metal act Deuteronomy has issued the following update about the recording progress for the band's new album:
"BASS: We started recording the bass,the sound is really heavy and dirty and will fit perfectly in the mix.
"GUITARS: The guitar recording was completed few months ago, at the end of november we will enter MILOCO studios here in london in order to reamp them.
"DRUMS: We planned to record the drums before The Demonical tour (that drummer Volac is taking part )but due to equipment problems the drums will start when he returns from.
"So All the instruments will be ready 100% in November. Prepare yourself for brutal black metal against Judaism and Christianity..."
