If you haven’t heard of Bowel Regurgitation please check out his sick ass music and throw him a friend request!"
Gales of Avalon has officially released the music video for “Cold Dark Valleys” one of 12 tracks from the band’s full-length debut Black Island.
Directed and edited by Ryan Leininger in the group’s hometown of Calgary, Alta., the new video tells part of the story illustrated through the upcoming concept album.
“It follows two survivors of a boat crash as they make there way across a deserted island. They are both broken and beaten, yet they keep forging on. There may be light at the end of the cold dark valley, there may not be; regardless, on they march,” describes Mark Dillon, guitarist and lead vocalist for the Celtic-influenced, blackened death metal quintet.
The video was originally intended to promote the album, which is being self-funded by the independent band and is still currently in production.
“Because of unexpected set backs, the recording ended up taking longer than we expected,” Dillon explains. “We also added a new member to the band (in September), so we decided that there was no reason to sit on a video that didn't feature the entire band that recorded the new album. We also thought that releasing it now was a good way to show our friends and fans that we are still alive, even through its taking us a long, long time to record a new album.”
Leininger, the visionary behind the video, was a media arts student at Mount Royal College when first approached Gales of Avalon with idea of making a short form video as part of his final project.
“He had access to professional equipment (cameras, lighting, and a sound stage) so it was a no-brainer for a broke band to say ‘yes’ to the opportunity to shoot a video for free,” Dillon laughs.
Shot over two days, filming was split between sound stage recording and on location at Calgary’s Bowness Park, with Sacred Ally guitarist Tyler Gregg, and Calgary drummer Russel Trout filling the lead character roles.
“These scenes were shot in early March, and we made Russ and Tyler wander around in the woods without shoes and wearing torn up clothes. For all there hard work they got paid a dozen beer each!”
The video can be viewed below, or at the band’s official MySpace, where you can stay tuned for the official release date of Black Island.
Chuck Biscuits, who was perhaps best known as the former drummer of Danzig,

Blackened death metallers Acheron have signed with Ibex Moon Records for the U.S. release of their latest album "The Final Conflict: Last Days Of God." Commented bassist/vocalist Vincent Crowley: "We have really been wanting to have someone license our new album, 'The Final Conflict: Last Days of God', in the United States to help give us more of a push in our own country. When Ibex Moon stepped up and signed a deal with Displeased Records, we were very excited. John McEntee from Ibex Moon has really put his label/company on the map. Ibex Moon has great distribution and has been releasing excellent albums from killer bands. Our goals are to start promoting the new album as much as possible and get this new musical creation to all the American metal fans! And as we do this, we hope for all the fans to show their support and actually go out and buy a copy of the new CD. Don't let downloading replace the option of buying CD's! We promise those who get the new album won't be disappointed in their purchase."
The album, the band's first in six years, is out now in Europe and will be released on November 24 in the U.S. "The Final Conflict: Last Days of God" was once again recorded at Mars Recording Compound with Bill Korecky and was mastered at West West Side Music in New Windsor, New York. The follow-up to 2003's "Rebirth: Metamorphosing into Godhood" is a concept album based on the fall of the three major religions, Christianity, Islam and Judaism. You can check out audio samples on the band's MySpace page.
Utah metallers Deathead have issued the following statement about writing a new album:
"Greeting fiends, Since we are still looking for a drummer we can't really get out and play live anywhere anytime soon. However, on the good side we can still write new songs. At the moment I would say that prolly bout half of the follow up to An Offering to the Gods is written. There is some songs that are complete musically and there are a few that the germs of creation are there. I'm really liking the stuff so far. It's showing some growth without forgetting who and what we are. There is some good variety so far. Some real super fast songs and some stuff in the middle. I will start putting lyrics together and giving these new tunes titles real soon. Thats when the fun begins. Then we'll have to decide if we get a drummer before recording these if we should play any of em live. Maybe we'll just keep em hiding til it's time for a new record. That way everyone will be excited to hear em. Anyway. I will keep you all as up to date as possible. Once again..."
Gallows has issued the following announcement about canceling their New Zealand tour dates:
"We have to announce with massive regret that we won't be able to play our two shows in New Zealand that we had scheduled for March next year. We were really looking forward to coming to Wellington & Auckland after Soundwave and giving you guys an amazing show with Comeback Kid, but we have been offered something for the same time which we simply cannot turn down.
"We understand this is the second time this has happened now and we can only apologize to all our fans who have bought tickets already. We loved New Zealand on Taste of Chaos in 2007, the fans there are awesome and we will be back soon to give you some shows that will be worth waiting for!"
Hell Within has issued the following update about signing to Thorp Records:
"Hell Within is proud to announce that we have signed a multi album worldwide deal with Thorp Records. After completing the final tour for our last album 'Shadows Of Vanity' on Thanksgiving of 2008, we began shopping to new record labels. We talked to many people and after looking at all the factors Hell Within decided that Thorp Records was the best new home for the band.
"Hell Within has been busy in the rehearsal room writing the still untitled Thorp Record debut. The band will be entering the studio in January 2010 under the direction of Pete Rutcho of Damaged Studios (Bury Your Dead, Seamless and Unearth). The recording will go through the entire month of January 2010. The band's new effort will be released world wide in May 2010. Upon the album's release Hell Within plans to hit the road non-stop in support of the new record.
"We'd like to thank Andy and Duane of Thorp Records for believing in us and for releasing our upcoming records. We'd also like to thank all of our fans, friends and family that have stood behind us over the years. You never stopped believing, supporting and giving us the drive to move forward with our passion. We can't wait to hit the road again and see all of you at our shows. Keep checking back with Hell Within and Thorp Records for updates on the band. We'll see you all soon."

I honestly thought the day would never come when I would see the legendary AC/DC in person. They haven’t been my way in years. But, like a message from God (or Satan), I received the news that indeed the duck-walking schoolboy would be visiting my town. My worn-out copy of AC/DC Live at Donington gave me high hopes of an incredible show that I prayed (to Satan) the aging men could still pull off. They not only equaled the spectacle, but far exceeded it, and it was one of the most energetic, loud and stunning shows I’ve ever seen. More...

Hoarfrost has issued the following announcement about an EP release show in Winnipeg, Manitoba:
"Mark your calendars, for on Saturday, November 21st, Hoarfrost is going to be releasing our debut EP! Joining us will be our good friends in Grand Master and Armoured Assault! After what will have amounted to two years as a band, fifteen (!!) shows since January of this year and six songs which we have worked tirelessly on perfecting, we are really proud of this album. Bill Gillis from CFR Church has again graciously agreed to host us at CFR Church for this show.
"I suppose a moment show be taken to qualify that: a church? Yes, but in Bill's words, when it's after hours and the doors open to the metal crowd, this is a venue like any other - the musicians can say, sing or scream whatever they wish to, and the venue itself is just that: a venue, a place to play a show and be there with friends and fans alike. And, while Hoarfrost isn't a 'necro kvlt christ-raping' black metal band, we still play music which has roots in bands that were in opposition of Christendom, so maybe it all balances out in the end? Bill likes to have his cake and eat it too though: he's one of our biggest fans and supporters.
"This show is also about endings as well as beginnings though - as artists we need to keep moving forward with our art and upping the ante of what exactly our definition of 'perfection' is. Thus, after this show, you won't be hearing from Hoarfrost for a good while - until April or May in the spring of next year, likely. This period is going to be a time of intensive work for us, forging new songs which are going to build off of what we've accomplished thus far and clear new paths in our musical Odyssey. When we emerge from this hibernation next year, expect to hear all new material (we debuted the first of these new songs, 'Tenebrous Entombment' last night), and a full line of merchandise at our shows - tshirts, hoodies, patches, buttons, stickers, our EP, etc! Los Angeles metallers Abysmal Dawn have posted a demo track of a new song they are working on via their MySpace page. The band is currently writing for the follow-up to their Relapse debut "Programmed To Consume" while searching for a new drummer.
Abysmal Dawn's vocalist/guitarist Charles Elliott commented on the decision to preview new material so early: “We're really excited about this new track along with the other material we've been working on. It doesn’t have any vocals or leads put to it yet though, just guitars with a drum machine for people to get the basic idea. We thought we’d give everyone a small taste of what’s to come and show people what we’re currently looking for in a drummer. Plenty of capable drummers have shown interest in auditioning but we’re looking for someone that can take us a step further and play these new songs. Until we find the right person we’ll keep writing the most brutal and misanthropic metal imaginable.”

Candlelight Records/Mnemosyne Productions today confirmed that Ihsahn's new album "After" will be released on January 25th in Europe and January 26th in the US. Recorded during the first half of 2009, "After" completes the musician’s planned trilogy of initial recordings. The album also includes appearances by drummer Asgeir Mickelson (Spiral Architect), bassist Lars K. Norberg (Spiral Architect), & saxophonist Jorgen Munkeby (Shining).
"This is my first album written with 8-string guitars as basis which has been both challenging and inspiring,” commented Ihsahn. “I also decided early on that I wanted to mix this album with Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia) and recorded the album with that in mind. Asgeir and Lars have again delivered superb performances. I've always wanted to implement the saxophone in my music; Jorgen’s contributions truly added a silver lining to the album."
"After" was recorded at Ihsahn's own Symphonique Studio, with additional work at Toproom Studio (co-engineered by Borge Finstad). “I have felt more confident and more at ease with the material,” relays Ihsahn. “In letting the songs themselves lead the way I just followed the natural impulses." Early discussions in regards to "After" are indicating more live activities but where and when currently remains a secret.
The track listing for "After" is as follows:
1. The Barren Lands
2. A Grave Inversed
4. Frozen Lakes on Mars
7. Heavens Black Sea
8. On the Shores

Vishal stated - "We are not going to make any complex music this time. Jim is an incredible musician and a much better drummer than me. I am going to learn lots of new things from him. It's going to be groove oriented with lots of ambient and percussion based supported by 7 string riffs. We are trying to put our spiritual mind in the music. We are working on our first song right now. Fans can expect the combination of a drummer and a percussionist in an ambiance of 7 string riff concept and spiritual ambient textures. That's all i can tell at the moment".
Vishal also mentioned that the new Amogh Symphony album will be out in the year 2010.

"On Halloween, from roughly 12pm - 12am EST, we will be streaming HALF of a new track from the upcoming album! The final mix production has been approved by the band and Patrick from Crypticus is putting his final touches on the material now. As you will soon see, the production on this album is much thicker and heavier than anything we've done before, and the sound is a lot better WITHOUT BEING TOO POLISHED by any means! Expect us to stay Primitive and Putrid until the grave calls.
"We have the cover art ready, as well as TONS of art from fans that contributed, so we thank you all for that! Ghoat from Father Befouled and Elektrokutioner are currently working on the CD layout as well. Lazarus A.D. has issued the following recap of the Loud Park Festival in Japan:
"Lazarus A.D. recently returned from their first ever trip overseas to Japan’s Loud Park festival in Tokyo. Needless to say, the band had an amazing experience. They were the third band to play on the Big Rock stage on October 18th. The stage was headlined by Slayer and also featured Children Of Bodom, Hatebreed and Papa Roach among others. Lazarus A.D. sampled some foreign cuisine, was surprised by eager fans waiting at their hotel room door to sign autographs and take photos, and played to over 10,000 people. Multiple circle pits tore through the crowd as Jeff Paulick, Dan Gapen, Alex Lackner and Ryan Shutler played their music overseas for the first time."
Lead guitarist Dan Gapen also added: “Loud Park was a blast! It was great sharing the stage with all those amazing bands. Not to mention having the chance to play in front of all the great people of Japan was a dream come true! We can’t wait to come back to Japan and get another chance to blow the roof off the motherfucker once again…”
