Firewind Releases New Music Video

"New Found Power", the title of their new single and music video, perfectly describes the current spirit of Greek power metal masters, Firewind.

The band’s latest incarnation, since 2019, of course led by former Ozzy Osbourne axeman Gus G. is fronted by singer Herbie Langhans (Avantasia), a powerhouse vocalist par excellence. Langhans‘ addition to the group’s ranks gave a new kind of energy to Firewind and after the release of the band’s latest (self-titled) album in May 2020, now the new single, "New Found Power", continues the Firewind legacy with a heavy, uplifting power metal track of highest quality.

"New Found Power" will also be part of the AFM Records label compilation, 25 Years Metal Addiction, which includes 30 rare or previously unreleased tracks and comes as 2CD digipak (out October 29).

"We recently met in our rehearsal room in Thessaloniki, Greece, to film what we all missed so much: playing together. That’s why the 'New Found Power' music video comes without fancy effects or anything: it’s just the four of us playing this cool new song and embracing it", Gus G. comments. "We really hope to see all our fans on the upcoming 20th anniversary tour. It’s been way too long and we can’t wait to celebrate 20 years of Firewind with a wild ride through our history." More...

Aephanemer Posts New Music Video Online

Toulouse-based symphonic melodic death metal powerhouse Aephanemer is currently gearing up for the release of their third and thunderous full-length studio album, entitled "A Dream Of Wilderness." The record will be out on November 19, 2021 via Napalm Records.

Starting out as an unbelievably successful DIY ride that suddenly turned towards international acclaim, the indisputable Aephanemer is one of the most exciting melodic death metal sensations of the modern age. Fast-paced metal fronted by the guttural growls and fierce screams of extraordinary vocalist Marion Bascoul meet flickering twin leads, elements of Scandinavian death metal, Slavic traditional music and epic synths. If their latest, much-acclaimed "Prokopton" was a noteworthy, impressive sophomore album from one of Europe‘s best up and coming melodic death metal bands yet, "A Dream Of Wilderness" sees the French four-piece doubling down on its songwriting skills: Faster, tighter and heavier, Aephanemer‘s upcoming album unleashes an anthemic adventure of brutally fast riffage and epic melodies!

After the French four-piece just recently shared a first appetizer and single, the rousing track "Panta Rhei," today they've unleashed another killer song alongside a video clip! "Antigone" represents a dark and gloomier yet no less powerful side of the band – adding to the diverse blend that is "A Dream Of Wilderness." Watch Aephanemer perform in the breathtaking setting of "Les Lapidiales," an abandoned quarry in France transformed into a magical place by talented sculptors, via their new video now streaming below. Be'lakor Uploads New Music Video

Be'lakor display an unmatched feel for heavy, grand compositions, rightfully earning them their spot at the forefront of Progressive Death Metal with more than 20 million streams on Spotify alone! With their latest singles "Hidden Window" and "Foothold" getting praise from new and old fans, the Australian Progressive Death powerhouse ignites the final audiovisual inferno from the new album "Coherence" (out this Friday, Oct 29 via Napalm Records) with their third single "Valence."

With "Valence," the Australians share one of their most ambitious songs yet. With deep swinging bass, flowing verses, epic harmonized leads and cold, deep growls, Be'lakor drag their listeners down into the airless depths. From ambient piano passages to relentless severity up to warm acoustic interjections, the track unravels as a dynamic, multi-faceted opus with multiple twists and turns throughout its runtime.

Be’lakor about "Valence":
"'Valence' is a song which brings together elements of all our previous albums - perhaps especially the sounds and moods of Stone's Reach and Of Breath and Bone - and then combines them with some of our newer ideas. The studio footage, filmed in Melbourne by Oli Sansom, was captured in the tracking and recording spaces where Coherence was created - and so it's is a fitting song to accompany the release of the album. Enjoy!" More...

Thulcandra Shares New Single "Scarred Grandeur"

Death/black metal veterans Thulcandra have frozen this autumn with their ice-cold riffing! Their brand new single "Scarred Grandeur," out today, is a versatile tour de force that kicks off the final lap towards the release of "A Dying Wish!"

“Scarred Grandeur” worships the glory of putrefying death as it promises clashing guitar play, epic mid-tempo moments, rapid outbursts and discreet acoustics in honor of traditional death metal defined by Unanimated, Dissection or Dismember. With this track, Thulcandra head directly into the eye of the storm, clearing the path for their upcoming, bone-chilling full-length, "A Dying Wish."

Steffen Kummerer on "Scarred Grandeur":
"'Scarred Grandeur' shows a rather pure and unpolished side of the band. You hear a real band performing relentless from front to end without any compromises. Filthy guitars, scruffy bass and nasty drums – listen to our new single and catch Thulcandra at a show near you!" More...

Municipal Waste Re-Signs With Nuclear Blast

Waste and Nuclear Blast have officially re-signed a worldwide deal that will extend the Nuclear-Waste union for years to come. To date, the co-conspirators' partnership has spawned some of the best crossover thrash of the last 20 years with 2 studio records, 2012's "The Fatal Feast" and 2017's "Slime And Punishment," and an EP, 2019's "The Last Rager," and they're only getting started! The band recently wrapped work on their eagerly awaited, 7th full-length album that's scheduled to be unleashed in 2022. Further details to be unveiled in the coming months.

The band comments on the re-signing:

"When we were asked about re-signing to Nuclear Blast only 2 words came to mind… no brainer! Having such a long history with an amazing label that’s been nothing but supportive made it an easy decision on our part. Looking forward to many records and even more years with The Blast!!! And an extra special thanks to everyone in the warehouse and offices all over for agreeing to stick it out with us for the years to come. Cheers NB and the Waste!" Tony Foresta (vocals)

They’ve always given us complete creative freedom and challenged us to push it to the limit with our deranged ideas. As the music business changes with the times, we trust that our vision remains unfazed by trends and our label backs us up with full force." Ryan Waste (guitarist) More...

W.E.B. Releases New Music Video

Athens-based metal collective W.E.B. is pleased to present their latest video for “Dark Web,” the harrowing opening track from their forthcoming full-length, Colosseum, set for release on November 19th via Metal Blade Records.

Comments guitarist/vocalist Sakis Prekas, “’Dark Web‘ is both a play on the band's name and music style, and the concept of the so-called hidden layer of the world wide web, and all the rumors about it: that you can purchase drugs, weapons, hitmen, or even kill people yourself there. This horrifying concept of such a reality combined with our understanding that the ones who rule this world look down on us as if we are slaves, or even ants, is what this song is about." More...

Orange Goblin Signs With Peaceville Records

Orange Goblin have, over the last 25 years, more than earned the right to be considered among the greats of British heavy music, revered and respected by their legion of fans worldwide, the media and their musical peers, they are a band with the future firmly in their sights and Orange Goblin are now, ushering in a new era of heavy metal chaos. Following the departure of bassist Martyn Millard, the Londoners have regrouped, recruiting old comrade Harry Armstrong (ex-Hangnail/Earls Of Mars/End Of Level Boss) for their new studio opus and impending live shows, and have signed a new deal with Peaceville Records.

Orange Goblin’s singer Ben Ward comments: "When we first started the band back in 1995, Peaceville was a label we admired so much due to the number of amazing bands they were releasing and building careers for at the time. To join a roster that released albums by the likes of Autopsy, Darkthrone, Paradise Lost, Anathema, My Dying Bride, Pentagram, At The Gates, Aura Noir and many more is an absolute honour and we look forward to continuing that amazing bloodline of talent, alongside the killer bands that they currently have on their books. We spoke to a few labels when our last deal ended and the enthusiasm, vision and passion for the music that Peaceville showed made this a really easy decision for all of us. We can't wait to start work on what will be the 10th Orange Goblin studio album. With a new bass player in place we are now writing new material and expect to have this released sometime in 2022. Cheers!"

Paul Groundwell Peaceville’ label manager says: "As trailblazers of the UK heavy metal scene for well over two decades now, and a band which has remained consistent in their attitude and with unwavering integrity towards their art, we're delighted to now welcome Orange Goblin to the Peaceville family for more top class doom-fuelled shenanigans to come."

Unearthing the Metal Underground: Caestus

You’ve probably seen a meme or two about Scandinavian and Nordic black metal bands getting lost in the woods while venturing out to take promo shots, striking the point that black metal is so ubiquitous in the region. Finland, specifically, is home to numerous and noticeably divergent high quality acts ranging from Beherit and Impaled Nazarene to Archgoat, Barathrum and Horna. Recently, new demonic blood has coagulated to form Caestus, a band that isn’t entirely original but one that stands out due to the fact that the members have clearly paid attention to good songwriting. Purity Through Fire is poised to release the act’s debut album, “The Undoer’s Key,” on December 12. More...
