Black Tusk is offering a free download of the track "Bring Me Darkness" exclusively at iTunes here. The download, available for one week only, comes from the new album "Set the Dial," which saw an October 24th release via Relapse Records.
Black Tusk has kicked off a string of regional shows, including two dates as direct support of Mastodon. Following these dates, the band will begin a headlining Eastern U.S. tour starting Nov. 2nd in Charlotte, NC and running through mid-November, including a stop as part of the Metal Suckfest in New York, NY. Phoenix, Arizona's Sargon has announced the addition of bassist Kelly Conlon (Ex-Death/Monstrosity) to its official recording and touring lineup. The band now features:

Sargon performed live in the U.S. for the first time on Sept 23rd, 2011 at The Goathead Saloon (in Arizona) on the date of its debut album's “In Contempt” official release by Old Cemetery Records. Footage of the release show is available here.
The band is currently working on new material for an EP scheduled to be released in early 2012, and will perform at this year's Goregrowler's Ball Fest in San Antonio, Texas on November 18th, 2011. More details on Sargon are available through the band's Facebook profile.
After releasing audio snippets, behind the scenes photos, and additional online teasers, Tesseract has finally revealed the new music video for the track "Eden." Though "Eden" was originally on the band's debut album "One," this rendition is a newly re-recorded version with vocalist Elliot Coleman. Check out the clip below.

At A Loss Recordings has confirmed the release date for the limited LP edition of Whitehorses's latest mammoth full-length, "Progression." Following an initial CD release via Sweat Lung early last year as the band stormed the U.S. alongside The Body, At A Loss officially released the album via digital download in July.
Now At A Loss will issue "Progression" on wax this November 8th, this time unleashing the record's massive tones in analog format for the diehards and collectors. Once again licensed from Sweat Lung, this pressing will be limited to 500 copies on black or black & blue swirled vinyl, and will include a digital download coupon to access high-quality MP3s as well. Preorders for the platter are being taken here.
Following the band's U.S. tour last year, Whitehorse will return next Summer on a full tour of the country. More info will be announced as the time draws near. In the meantime, the band continue to book shows throughout Australia and has the following upcoming shows:

German act Dying Humanity has posted a new song online titled "Addicted," which is from the band's upcoming album "Living on the Razor's Edge."

Metal Assault has posted footage online of Swedish act Opeth performing the song "Face Of Melinda" live at Fox Theatre in Pomona, CA on October 21st. You can check out the footage below.

The Soulless (formerly Ignominious Incarceration) has confirmed a new U.K. tour with Bury Tomorrow. The tour is due to kick off on Thursday, December 8th in Bristol, just a few weeks after the band wraps up a tour with Against the Glood.
The Soulless frontman Andy Wardle comments:
"Everyone here in The Soulless is super excited for this tour. We cannot wait to finally showcase the tracks from our latest album, 'Isolated'. German post black metal band Agrypnie posted a preview sampler from the forthcoming EP "Asche," scheduled for release on November 11, 2011 through Supreme Chaos Records. The EP is a teaser of a full length release due sometime in the spring of 2012, but also contains various exclusive songs, one of which features abmient artist Mathias Grassow. "Asche" will be available in limited first edition digipak and strictly limited vinyl version (100 transparent red, 400 clear).

As if celebrating the 20th anniversary of their existence this year weren’t enough, progressive black metallers Enslaved will be the first metal group to receive the Norwegian Artist & Songwriters Association’s Honorary Award. Norwegian Minister of Culture Anniken Huitfeldt – who is responsible for cultural policy, film, and the media - will present the 10th installment of this award to the band members on Monday, October 31st in Oslo, Norway.
In addition to winning four Spellemann awards (Norwegian equivalents of American Grammys), Enslaved’s interest, dedication, and contribution to the Norwegian music industry and general debate was a significant reason for the band receiving the award.
The Honorary Award is appointed by a jury consisting of the board at the Norwegian Artist & Songwriters Association. The award prize is a glass microphone made by glass artist Camilla Prytz and the inscription reads as follows: “The prize is presented to a person or group that has done a significant effort to promote Norwegian music within the genres of which the Norwegian Artist & Songwriters Association represent; Pop / Rock / Related.”
The nine previous winners of the Honorary Award include: 2010 - Hellbillies; 2009 - Marit Larsen; 2008 - Henning Kvitnes; 2007 - Anne Grete Preus; 2006 - Bjørn Eidsvåg; 2005 - Jan Eggum; 2004 - Åge Aleksandersen; 2003- Jahn Teigen; 2001 - Nora Brockstedt.

Phil Langelier, vocalist for Montreal fantasy grind metal band Bookakee, has designed the artwork for the Trois Rivieres Metal Fest Compilation #11 CD, along with the t-shirts for the event. The Metal Fest took place on October 14th and 15th, and the compilation has 38 bands on it, ranging from Annihilator to Unbreakable Hatred. Old Corpse Road drummer The Dreamer has issued the following update about returning to active duty with the band:
"After a long battle with a herniated disc in my spine, I have returned to live duties with the Old Corpse Road. It's been a long hard 6 months of physio, spinal injections and scans and it is far from over but I’m in a position where I can handle drum duties well enough to gig.
"In our downtime we have wasted no time in writing and pre-demoing tracks for our forthcoming album. On Wednesday night I spent a couple of hours getting the drums down for The Crier of Claiffe and thankfully it went painlessly, now onto the next song.."

Polish melodic death metal band Serpentia posted a new track "Proclamation Of Tragedy" at this location. The song appears on the forthcoming LP "Day in the Year of Candles." The band is also shooting a music video for the track, the video teaser of which is posted below.
"Day in the Year of Candles" is the first Serpentia album since the 2004 release "Nails Enigma." The band briefly changed its name to Painfields in 2007 before returning to Sepentia and then splitting. In July of this year, the announced its return.

The Cleansing has issued the following statement about parting ways with bassist Mads Haarløv and announcement about upcoming tour dates:

Massive Assault, which is currently working on a new album, has announced an appearance at the upcoming Protzen Open Air 2012. The festival takes place from June 22nd - 24th and will also feature Malevolent Creation, Hatesphere, Illdisposed, and more. Further details are available through the festival's website here.

American heavy metal outfit Lamb Of God has announced that the band has finished work a new studio album, the title of which has not yet been announced. A message from drummer Chris Adler reads as follows:
"The album is done. Details coming soon. The first set of invitees have been brought in to listen (no press copies kids), and the response is fantastic. Press has begun for the release and the tours we have coming in 2012. We've made it this far."
More details will be revealed as soon as they become available.
Ceremonial Perfection had previously announced an upcoming tour of Poland with Arcane Grail and Trelleborg throughout November. The band has now issued the following brief announcement about canceling those shows:
"It's so sad, but our upcoming tour around Poland has been cancelled because our tour manager has to move to UK now! We do apologize to our Polish fans! We are trying to book a new tour around Poland in 2012!"

The deluxe re-issue of Death's "Individual Thought Patterns" album is streaming online now, and can be heard in the player available below or at this location.
The follow-up album to "Human," "Individual Thought Patterns" has been remixed by Alan Douches and re-packaged to include a second and third bonus disc worth of previously unreleased demos and a full live set recorded in Germany during a 1993 European tour. Also included on the third bonus disc exclusive to this re-issue are rare riff tracks from the Chuck Schuldiner archives.

As was previously announced, Threshold will be heading off on a string of pre-release shows in April for an as-yet-untitled album. The band has now announced Italian rockers Kingcrow will support Threshold for three of the dates.

As was previously announced, folk metal act Scythia will be headlining the Nerd Fest, which takes place in Vancouver on November 19th at the Rickshaw Theatre. Scythia has now posted a teaser trailer for the festival online, which can be viewed below.
Nerd Fest is a night of medieval fantasy that will showcase local folk metal clans Scythia, Eye Of Odin, and Celestial Ruin along with entertainment ranging from sword fighting, tattoo artistry, burlesque dancing (Tiffany Truth), fantasy multimedia (films), a costume contest, and a multitude of vendors who will showcase unique local-made crafts for medieval enthusiasts.
