Behemoth has wrapped up the band's first string of shows following Nergal's recovery from leukemia, which he was diagnose with last year. Nergal comments:
"The word became flesh. We are back and we're back for good. Seven shows across Poland was a much needed morale boost for our camp. We have proven to ourselves that we can come back in an even more splendorous way than ever before! All the concerts turned out better than expected, most of venues were sold out and, despite my throat infection, we managed to pulled off the last three shows in Warsaw, Torun and Lodz. I'm back home and I'm recovering now…and I'm happy. Simple as that.
"Behemoth would love to hail all the fans that made this tour so great! Our friends: Mystic Production, Witching Hour Prod., Przemek, Kapral, Piotr, Adam, Mr. Groszek, Lubawa, Bartek Was, Piro…your dedication and professionalism can't be underrated! I'd like to thank Blindead and Morowe for keeping the variety and quality on the bill. Great people, great bands!
"Also, we'd like to show our utmost respect to the rectors of Universities (who own few of the venues we played) who decided to let the shows happen under the strong pressure from religious groups that were trying to ban and cancel the tour. We always love to see when intelligence wins over superstition and stagnation. Hail Freedom!
"Now we are taking some time off before striking back on the stages of Poland (Krakow, Rzeszow and Szczecin) in January and Europe (co-headlining tour with Cannibal Corpse) early next year! Soon we're gonna reveal super exciting news about Spring American tour! We are taking the world by storm again! Just watch!"

The album consists of 10 songs, among which you will find a song name 'Tequila', which is especially written for (and inspired by) our South American fans, with whom we celebrated such hard times, and who welcomed us so warmly, when we were touring in South America."

Sweden's In Flames will unleash a 2nd digital single "Where The Dead Ships Dwell," off the new album "Sounds Of A Playground Fading," on November 15th.
In Flames was not shy of taking a new approach to the song "Where The Dead Ships Dwell" and went to extremes with the diverse partners that turned in three completely different remixes with versions by German rapper Casper, drum and bass act The Qemists, and Kristof Bathory, vocalist of the black metal band Dawn of Ashes.
"The songs have already been made and the originals are as good as they can be, but what if I give them to an artist from a whole different genre, what would be there take on it?" Says In Flames vocalist Anders Fridén. "I love collaborations like this and all the artists we worked with have done an awesome job. It's not meant to be taken dead serious and it's not how In Flames is gonna sound next, but I love it and I hope you'll enjoy a twist to the formula."
The track listing for the single is as follows:
1. Where The Dead Ships Dwell
2. Where The Dead Ships Dwell (Casper Remix)
3. Where The Dead Ships Dwell (The Qemists Remix)
4. Where The Dead Ships Dwell (Kristof Bathory - Dawn of Ashes Remix) (iTunes exclusive track)
Re-mixer Casper commented, "Since I have been a huge In Flames fan since I was a teenager, I was honored to even be considered for a remix of one of their songs from their new chart-topping album. When I used to play in metal bands, it was all about having riffs comparable to these guys and to now, as a rapper (!!!), be a part of the new single is mindblowing. We didn't really know how to approach the material, since it is my first remix job ever, so we went the dancy French house route. I really deeply do hope that people enjoy it. Feeling blessed." American melodic thrash metallers Crown The Lost have announced that they have decided to lay the band to rest after six years together. A message from guitarist and founding member David E. Gehlke reads as follows:
"With great consideration and thought, I have decided to put Crown The Lost to rest. The straw that ultimately broke the camel's back was Leon’s [Mallah, vocals] decision to devote his full attention to his new band, Collide. Taking into account the dearth of singers of his caliber in our region, it is now time for us to call it a day and focus on new projects. However, I don't think it's a reach to say that the band would have folded a lot sooner if it weren't for Leon's contributions upon his arrival in January of 2010. I deeply regret not being able to find him at an earlier stage in our career, as his professionalism and immense talent would have been the cure for what ailed the band during our formative years.
“That being said, we accomplished quite a bit during our six-year run, and I am proud of the three albums we released, specifically our debut [Reverence Dies Within] and our most recent album, Cold Pestilent Hope. I am forever indebted to our current lineup of Leon, Tim Boyle (bass) and Argel Marchelletta (drums), each of whom have become some of my closest friends. Additional thanks to our recently-added lead guitarist Todd Seitz, whose tenure in the band is unfortunately too short to accurately measure. You'll be hearing plenty from him in his most-excellent STYGIA project.
“The nostalgic lot we are not, but our ‘farewell show’ is scheduled for Saturday, December 3rd at the Smiling Moose in our hometown of Pittsburgh. Our good friends Hollowpoint will be opening the show, and joining us for the entire set will be our long-time (or rather, “returning”) lead guitarist Joe Bonaddio. This is a fitting way to go out, and is a great way to put a cap on our career. Be there or be square!”
Ola Lindgren of Swedish act Grave has issued the following announcement about splitting with guitarist Magnus Martinsson and beginning work on a new album:
"So back in dark, cold and rainy Sweden again after a successful North American tour. We had a great time and many great shows. Since we haven't headlined the US since 1996 we didn't know what to expect but i must say that we were pleasantly overwhelmed by the response from our fans. This gave us the kick in the nuts and the motivation to get back over there again in a near future. A huge special thanks to our kickass roadcrew: T-Wayne, T-Bone and The Colonel.
"Right now we're preparing for an epic night of oldschool madness. November 12:th we will play a very special anniversary gig at Club Distortion/Kulturhuset here in Stockholm. The classic Into the Grave album will be run through from 'Deformed' to 'Banished to Live' plus another handful classic tunes. Support acts are the mighty Vicious Art and General Surgery Be there or be square... Link to the event on FB here. More...

Deadlock has already recruited a new vocalist, who will be revealed shortly. The band will also start the writing process soon for a new full-length album.
Former Deadlock vocalist Johannes Prem commented on leaving the band:
"After over 15 years of heavy music and being one of the founding members of Deadlock it is time to start a new chapter in my life. It was not an easy decision for me to split ways with my longtime friends but as life goes on everybody has to learn where to set his priorities. Having a great job and a perfect little family there is simply not enough time to give Deadlock the attention and time it deserves.
"So it is time to say a big thank you to all the people I met during that time and to all those friends that will always be part of my life. Deadlock to me always was so much more than just music, it was all about a strong message, a lifestyle and being on the road and party with friends, but times are changing and so I will search for new ways to give my thoughts and emotions a voice.
"It was a great time to be on the road with best friends, sharing so many funny moments we will laugh about for the rest of our lives (Tobi and Gert know what I talk about), having a musical genius that gave my lyrics the base (thanks for that Sebastian), having a beautiful voice on my side, that became more and more to the Deadlock trademark (Thanks Sabine). And thanks to all the people that worked for or with us throughout those years. All the best to the new Deadlock team. I will never forget those years."

Guitarist Max Lussier of Canadian death metal act Derelict has posted the following blog online discussing the Montreal metal scene:
"Very often in life we ask ourselves or others how we are influenced by our surroundings. This is true in many walks of life. Our surroundings affect how we dress, what music we listen to and many other things too numerous to list properly right now. As someone who writes music, in this case death metal music, I have to say that my surroundings have had a great impact on my playing and songwriting.
"We in Derelict are very fortunate to call Montreal home. Montreal is a very lively and artistic city where you can attend some sort of artistic performance or live a nightlife experience pretty much any night of the week. It’s also a fairly unique city in that the French and English languages live in relative harmony. What is also true about Montreal is that it has a world-class metal scene.
"When I was a young teenager and discovering the heavier arts, some of the bands I stumbled upon after the Big 4 were Iced Earth, Opeth, Death, Arch Enemy and Deicide. I was off to a good start when I saw someone mention Cryptopsy in a magazine (that’s right, metal sites were not as common back then). My friend Pat and I first listened to the song 'White Worms.' I couldn’t believe that this type of brutal music even existed, let alone that the band was from my hometown! After that life-changing event it didn’t take long for me to realize just how much of a brutal bastion of metal this city really was. More...

In a recent interview with Tabloid!, Robert Trujillo, the bass player of American heavy metal legends Metallica, revealed that the band has begun work on the next studio album. An excerpt from the interview in which he discusses new material reads as follows:
Tabloid!: In terms of new music, your last album, Death Magnetic, was out in 2008, and you have been touring heavily with that. Are you currently working on new material?
Trujillo: "We've been busy writing and recording. We've got a couple of new songs we have been working on the past couple of weeks. The writing process for the new Metallica album has begun. We've been in the studio with Rick Rubin, working on a couple of things, and we're going to be recording during the most of next year. We've got a lot of work ahead of us. But the great thing is that we have sort of already jumped off the launch pad and we're swimming. It's happening. It's reality. It's a lot of fun, there are a lot of ideas, and we're really excited about the new record. For me, personally, Death Magnetic was the launch pad for the next record. This is the beginning of something very, very cool."

Speaking recently with their webmaster of their official website, Kreator frontman Mille Petrozza revealed that the group are currently working on ten new songs for their next album, which he said they will begin recording in January. An excerpt reads as follows:
Kreator-Terrorzone: How is the new album is coming along?
Petrozza: "The songs are coming along great and I think it's o.k. to say that this will be our most epic album so far. There's some classical, a lot of traditional metal and of course a huge dose of thrash metal influences in the new stuff. Everyone in the band is very excited at this point. The demos sound killer so far. We have about ten songs we're working on so far."
Kreator-Terrorzone: Do you guys have a studio date yet?
Petrozza: "Yeah, we're going to Sweden in January. Our producer Jens Bogren will come to Germany in December for pre-production."
Kreator-Terrorzone: Can you tell us anything about the lyrical or visual concept yet?
Petrozza: "It's too early to talk about the lyrics yet, many are written but they keep changing all the time. Visually we have tapped Wes Benscotter for the cover art. I can tell you this much: The artwork will be insane!"
