Norwegian black metal act 1349 has partnered with Sick Drummer Magazine to post a new drum cam and performance footage clip online. The clip features the song "Nathicana" being performed during an early October tour stop. You can view the video below:
When I was first approached about doing an interview with Stephan Lill, Guitarist of one of my favorite Prog/Metal bands, “Vanden Plas”, I was stoked to say the least. Not only am I a big fan of the band who possesses every studio album they have put out (with the exception of colour temple), I am also a huge fan of their lead guitarist. Now although personally I felt all their recordings had been nothing less than phenomenal, I was nevertheless skeptical to there ability to follow up their previous release “Christ O”, a very adventurous and epic album, and one of my personal favorites. A lot of bands when faced with the challenge of creating a follow up to a great album, buckle under the pressure, releasing lack lustered efforts at best. Upon hearing the new album “The Seraphic Clockwork” I knew that this was not the case for these guys. More...
Canada's Agassiz, which was formerly known as Kuldakaust, has issued the following update about the band's activity and an upcoming live show:
"Hello all. We haven't really given an update on the band in the past little while. For the ones who read our blogs, sorry. This Saturday, October 30th we will be playing a Halloween show at the North Hill Inn with our friends Arctic Circle as well as PornoDeathGrind, Free Radical and our Winnipeg brothers Laika! It'll be a great night of metal so, if you are in the Brandon area or Winnipeg, or the surrounding areas and want to come out to the show, you should! It's going to be a great night."
You can also check out Agassiz's music via the band's MySpace profile.
Episode 2 begins with Bret four months out of the hospital. Kristi is off to meet her girlfriend Kate and express her concern over Bret not taking it easy while Michaels is out on the road living it up in Joliet, IL. I’m not sure if it’s this particular town (probably not), the venue (maybe), or the fact that it is a Bret Michaels show (probably) but there is a high percentage of white trash on hand for the meet and greet after his performance. Fans that may or may not be pregnant are drinking and giving Bret dating advice. This is the scene when we are introduced to Grammy Gypsy. More...

Chicago, Illinois progressive doom metal act Novembers Doom has revealed details regarding the re-release of its album "The Knowing," which was originally released in 2000. The new 2-disc version is set for release on November 23, 2010 through The End Records.
Vocalist and fouding member Paul Kuhr commented by saying:
"To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the release of 'The Knowing,' The End Records is re-issuing this long out of print album which is one of the most sought after in the Novembers Doom collection. We wanted to make the reissue something special, so we decided to completely re-mix and re-master it in order to enhance the overall sound. Being able to revisit these recordings in a studio setting also allowed us to fix a few mistakes which have stood out in our ears for 10 years. Songs such as "In Faith" and "Silent Tomorrow" are now as originally intended. We realize many people are fond of the original recording and hate when bands "fix" old material, so for the fans of the original, we're including the original release as a bonus disc. It is an exact clone of the 2000 pressing, allowing you to hear both versions back to back. An expanded 24 page booklet accompanies this reissue with original photography by Tony Myles of Cage XXI, who we've worked with on the "Autumn Reflection" and "A Eulogy For the Living Lost" videos."
Here is "The Knowing" tracklisting:
2010 Edition - CD1

Jason Peppiatt, vocalist of the technical death metal act Psycroptic, has announced plans to skip the band's forthcoming U.S. tour with Nile. Zdenek Simecek of Godless Truth will replace Peppiatt on the tour.
Jason Peppiatt commented by saying:
"A month or so after we confirmed the U.S. tour, I was greeted with the excellent news that I would be a new father, halfway through the tour no less. Since I could not miss the birth, and I couldn't exactly drive from the U.S. to Tasmania, I talked it through with the rest of the guys and decided to ask Zdenek in to fill for the last tour of the 'Ob(servant)' album for me.
"Zdenek has been a longtime friend of the band and is a super-talented vocalist, so I'm happy to have him in my shoes for this run. I'll be working hard demoing the new material while at home (as well as changing nappy's), and I'll see you all in 2011!"

"Have no fear! We are still coming to rule the night and burn your city! In fact we are already working on the future and booking more shows! Standing in on harsh vocals will be our long time friend Christoffer Andersson, he's well rehearsed, more than qualified and ready to kick ass with us every night!"

Autumns Eyes has issued and update on the progress of upcoming album "Please Deceive Me" as well as announcing a new music video and first DVD release:
"In an attempt to distract myself from infusing apples with poison/candies with razors, I have decided its time for another update. Its no secret that October is indeed a month of inspiration and creation for Autumns Eyes. With the completion of 'Please Deceive Me' slowly creeping up on the ears of its unfortunate listeners, a new breed of visual abominations approaches to coincide with the release. In other words, new music videos.
"The first video scheduled is for the track 'Haunting Your Daughter,' which has a very '80s Horror Movie/Nightmare on Elm Street' sound to it. It will also contain an intro track titled 'Red Wine and Resin,' a creepy 'Goblin' inspired instrumental song which sets the stage for the story.
"While keeping on the video subject, I suppose its a good time to announce the very first DVD release from Autumns Eyes. A date has yet to be scheduled, but the DVD will contain several music videos, documentaries, interviews, and a few surprises to be announced at a later date."
Autumns Eyes is also holding a Halloween Costume Contest. All you need to enter is a photo of yourself in your Halloween Costume before the deadline of November 5th. Winners will be announced one week after Halloween. Here are the prizes:

Reunited Swedish death metallers Desultory will reissue deluxe editions of their "Into Eternity" and "Bitterness" full-lengths via Singapore's Pulverised Records. The albums were initially released via Metal Blade Records in 1993 and 1994 respectively. To commemorate these two offerings, both discs will be released together with bonus tracks from three "Desultory" demos circa '90 - '91. In addition, each record, originally produced by Sunlight Studio owner/producer Tomas Skogsberg, will be remastered by multi-instrumentalist/producer Dan Swanö at Unisound Studio in Sweden.
Said Swanö of the undertaking: "I've been remastering Desultory's demos and first two full lengths. The play time is more than 80 minutes! All the material has been restored to fit nicely together in the same playlist, and it's amazing how much a few small tweaks can change the overall sound from 'demo' to 'album.' A funny anecdote is that I 'forced' the band to go to the home of Tomas Skogsberg in the middle of nowhere and pick up the original DAT tapes of the demos. Maximum quality achieved!"
The front covers and inside booklets have all bean tweaked with a subtle redesign by Greek graphic artist Anestis Goudas of Derz Design (Rotting Christ, I.C.S Vortex, Shagrath etc.) and come with detailed liner notes by Terrorizer Magazine writer Olivier "Zoltar" Badin, with special assistance from Desultory frontman/guitarist Klas Morberg. Every week we talk to bands from all over the world and hear some of their favourite stories from the mosh pit. This week, Dean Miller of New York hardcore veterans No Redeeming Social Value shares his story about getting into the spirit of another culture:
"Every NRSV show is a free for all fun extravaganza of ill behavior! So on our recent Japan tour, in Osaka our naked tour manager and crew Sumo wrestle other members of the other bands in the pit and they are covered in sweat and mud and bee. The matches lasted a good half hour and then NRSV played, then after our set a bachelor party free for all drum and bass party broke out. We partied until after the sun came up... then played another show!"
No Redeeming Social Value recently released a new live album entitled, "High In Holland." You can read all about it, along with a history of the band and much more, by checking out our recent interview with vocalist Dean Miller.

For 8 nights Jeff pulled double-duty and performed on stage for both SOR and Resurrection, doing a fine job for both bands.
