Mork Streams New Single "Eremittens Dal"

Norweigian black metal act Mork is streaming the new single "Eremittens Dal." The song is the title track of the band's latest effort, which dropped as a digital release back on September 29th via Peaceville Records. The physical product was issued back on October 13th.

The song features a guest appearance from Dimmu Borgir frontman Silenoz. Check out the song in the player at the bottom.

Mork was created by Thomas Eriksen in 2004 and was primarily a side-project for Eriksen from inception until the debut album release in 2013. Since then, the band has rightly earned its accolade as one of the top Norwegian black metal acts of recent years, receiving strong endorsements from peers.

"Eremittens Dal" stands as a tribute to the spirit of old-school Norwegian black metal. The album is primarily inspired by the works of Darkthrone and Burzum, complete with raw production and ice-cold riffs, but with its own dynamic and atmospheric twist; stepping effortlessly between the ferocious and the melancholy, covering themes of hate, death, seclusion and misanthropy, both lyrically and in the way that a one-man-band makes music in solitude, perfectly fitting of the title, translated as "Valley of the hermit."

The suitably grim pencil cover art (shown in the background of the player below) comes courtesy of Jannicke Wiese-Hansen, who famously made artwork for early Burzum and Satyricon releases.

The track listing is:

1. Hedningens spisse brodder
2. Holdere av fortet
3. Forsteinet i hat
4. Eremittens Dal
5. I hornenes bilde
6. Likfølget
7. Et rike i nord
8. I enden av tauet
9. Mørkets alter
10. Gravøl

Oceans Of Slumber Reveals New Album

Houston-based progressive metal outfit Oceans of Slumber has just announced the release of the forthcoming full-length album "The Banished Heart," which will be issued on March 2, 2018 via Century Media Records.

Singer Cammie Gilbert comments, "Guided by our resolve to only make music that is real to us, we explored a new depth and crawled deep inside ourselves to uncover what had been hiding and bring it out into the light. Sometimes in life there are places where we are able to turn away, to get away with applying the utilities of denial, but not this time. This time we forced ourselves to stay in that uncomfortable and terrifying place. To explore its vast and dark void in hopes of uncovering a better path out of it, not only for ourselves, but for all those familiar with that same dark place within themselves."

Oceans Of Slumber mystifies listeners with atmospheric melodies over darkened dynamics that range from the perversely sinister to the adventurously progressive, creating an undeniably epic wall of sound that has become the Texans’ trademark.

More details on the album will be revealed soon. More...

Warrior Soul Reveals New Album "Back On The Lash"

Warrior Soul, the band fronted by legendary singer Kory Clarke, will release the new studio album entitled "Back On The Lash" on December 1st via Livewire/Cargo Records UK.

Warrior Soul is back with profane sermons delivered at high velocity and maximum volume and this is what the new album is all about! "Back On The Lash" is a powerful statement of intent from Kory and Warrior Soul. Kory Clarke is one of the last true rock n’ roll frontmen and since the classic "Last Decade Dead Century" in 1990, he has continued to swim against the tide of mediocrity and safe rebellion. This firebrand of political invective and rock n’ roll is back on the lash with a new album for 2017 and you won’t hear a more powerful or authentic album this year. It is everything you would expect aggressive, vile and wants to make you go to the bar and tell the planet to fuck off.

3. Back On The Lash
4. Further Decay

Hetman To Release New Album

Ukrainian ethnic black metal act Hetman has set December 1st as the release date for the upcoming new opus "Sewn From The Ashes Book," which will be released through Svarga Music.

Founded in 2006 by Oleksii “Cerberos” Bondarenko, the band's musical and ideological concept was based on worldwide classic ethnic literature, but of course with a good influence of local Ukrainian.

Hetman is an history ridden band, a one-man project to be more precise, crafting the musician's blend of folk and pagan-influenced black metal, which cannot easily be compared to any common categories. Some flute melodies here and there, some doom elements, acoustic guitars and a lot of epic heaviness add up to a heroic, glorifying magnum opus of Ukrainian heritage and culture. Hetman aims at a future for nature and living beings by reminding them of what is really worth it: people caring for each other, loving the homeland and developing it.

The translated track listing is as follows:

1. The Gateway
2. The Seventh Heaven
3. How Quite on Earth! How Quite!..
4. The Pile of Soil
5. Remember Who We Are
6. Touch the Stones in the Steppe
7. The Proud Word

Walter Fornication Streams Two New Singles

Walter Fornication - the one man, studio project of Wouter Fornara based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands - released two new singles - "History Misanthropy" (via a music video) and "The Dark Ages" (via a lyric video). Check them out in the players below.

The two songs appear on the debut full length release "On a Journey Through Time and Space," which was issued independently back on September 17th.

Fornara commented "History Misanthropy": "'History Misanthropy' appears as track #7 on the new album: ‘On A Journey Through Time And Space’. It is an Old School Death Metal/Morbid Angel kind of song, which follows the same kind of structure and tonal scales as ‘Politics Of Hate’ on the first demo album: ‘A Revolution’s Dawn’. The song deals with the hate indoctrination of the youth (Hitler and SS Jugend) by the Nazis during the Second World War and the shameful role of the Catholic Church during this period, which completely abandoned its values and chose to collaborate with the Nazis.

"In the end the song states: ‘Still mankind’s cruelty goes on and on…’, meaning: humanity has learned little from history as mass hate indoctrination by religion, the media, certain kinds of ideologies or whatever kind of form still goes on till today."

Morphesia Releases "I Forever End"

U.S. blackgaze metal act Morphesia released the new "I Forever End" today (October 24th) via Sliptrick Records.

Formed in 2005, Morphesia began as Zombie Thirteen’s one-man Black Metal project that later expanded into a full band. Following lineup changes and a few releases, Morphesia returned as a one-man band to showcase "I Forever End," an album which steps away from the black metal blueprint, focusing on a diverse, experimental sound and incorporating a post-metal/blackgaze style.

"I Forever End" follows the onslaught of extreme black metal releases and shows spanning more than a decade. Gone are the spikes, the props and all the paint, to reveal a more personal and even darker soundtrack that has been covered up for a large part of the last decade. This will be the 4th official release from Morphesia and continues a self-exploratory musical journey in stunning, idiosyncratic fashion.

For "I Forever End," Morphesia’s sole composer, Zombie Thirteen ventures further into his own secret abyss, delving into the inner core behind all the aggression and chaos. He digs deep into his mind and personal life with layers of atmospheric environments, blended with a psychedelia induced melancholy feel that will haunt and yet appeal your ears, only to crush every expectation with daydreaming inducing passages. These passages contain a sound that can be compared to viewing the most beautiful California beach with a thunderstorm approaching on the horizon, all through a kaleidoscope of color that floods the black and white canvas that was laid down before it.

The track listing is:

1. Through The Forest
2. Towards The Sea
3. Underneath
4. The Moon
5. Within
6. Shadows
7. I
8. Forever
9. End
10. At Last (Bonus Online Track) More...
