With some hot new Billboard chart positions for their latest record, "A New Era of Corruption," and a five-band headlining tour, Metal Blade deathcore act Whitechapel is riding a wave of success. On October 22nd, that wave brought them back to Nashville in their home state of Tennessee for their largest headlining show. Lyraka has posted the artwork for their new album, "Lyraka.Volume 1," online. View the artwork and listen to some of their songs on their official website. The CD will be released on November 27th, 2010.
Sri Lankan black metal band Funeral In Heaven recently announced their upcoming split release with Plecto Aliquem Capite. The split is entitled "Astral Mantras of Dyslexia." The track listing, artwork and release details will be revealed shortly.
Plecto Aliquem Capite recently released a free two-track EP entitled "As The Sane Crumbles."

Throne of Malediction has posted a music video online for the song "Season of Death," which is off the band's upcoming album "Ceremonial Blood." The video clip can be viewed below.
The progressive metal force from the north, Netherlands-based guitar-player and songwriter Arjen Lucassen, has just finished up the second album for his project, Star One, which is set for the release date of October 26th for the US and November 1st for Europe. Arjen's been a busy man in the eight years between "Space Metal" and "Victims of the Modern Age." He's written, recorded, and put out several albums with Ayreon, Guilt Machine, Ambeon, and Stream of Passion -- Each one of them a banquet of musical styles, involving a lot of instrumentalists, vocalists, and musical talent. The man behind the helm of these projects took some time out for an interview to discuss these things, as well as the tragic death of Gotthard's Steve Lee, who had been a guest vocalist on the latest Ayreon album, "01011001." Dead By April has issued the following brief announcement about parting ways with guitarist Johan Olsson: "We are sad to see Johan leave and wish him all luck in the future. Johan leaving will not affect the UK tour we're on right now and it will not affect the upcoming album recordings."
Johan also posted the following statement about the split:
"We have had some differences and been going in different directions for a while and there's always a certain point you reach when you need to really decide if you can go forward together or not. So I have decided to leave Dead by April to focus mainly on my own music and bands. Also give time to my other projects like my clothing company 'Suckerpunch Clothing' as well as of course my family and friends. It is every kids dream to be a 'rockstar' and you always have to balance the good against the bad. More...
Germany's Abstinenz has issued the following update about working on a new album:
"The working on the new Abstinenz album is still going on! Unfortunately it will take more time as we thought because of different private incidents. The releasing date is unknown yet, but we will do all possible to present you the finished and new Abstinenz album in 2011!
"To keep you up-to-date, we will publish shortly one song of the new album on myspace! Who can't wait til then, has the chance to get a little taste of the new album at the 10th anniversary of Knüppelnacht in Speyer on October 30th. We will present a new song it, the actual songs and a completely new show! Don't miss it!"
Swiss act Amagortis has issued the following update about canceling the band's previously scheduled appearance at the Mosh Insanity Festival:
"Hey freax! We feel so sorry to announce that we cant play this years MOSH INSANITY Festival today because our drummer had to 'visit' the hospital due to an emergency reason! We hope that he'll get well soon and hope to hit your country as soon as possible again! Sorry and stay brutal!"

Crionics recently released the new EP entitled "N.O.I.R." The band has now issued the following statement about the release and streaming a new song online:
"We are proud to inform that long-awaited Crionics EP 'N.O.I.R.' had been finally released on the 17th of October this year on MSR Productions. The material will first get to fans in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Moldova. The 'N.O.I.R.' EP - recorded with the brand new line-up, consisting of musicians of Vader, Devilish Impressions and Asgaard among others - comes out as a digipack with all the graphics and layout done by Michal ‘Xaay’ Loranc (Nile, Behemoth etc.) and Piotr Szafraniec.
"Besides three of the author tracks the band had prepared its own version of such metal world’s well-known songs as Immortal’s ‘Blashyrkh’ and Rammstein’s ‘Moskau’ (featuring special guest appearance of Peter / Vader and Vogg / Decapitated). The material comes with two bonuses, namely – The making of N.O.I.R. video report and Crionics’ first demo, originally recorded in 1997. New Hampshire black metal act Vintage Flesh is currently streaming the title track online from the band's new album "Hour of the Night Gaunts." The track can be heard via the Vintage Flesh MySpace profile. Vintage Flesh also commented on the new song:
"Blackest Howls, the time of final frost and final harvest is upon us. It is time for a sacrifice, and we offer our new song Hour of the Night Gaunts. You shall all bear witness to this horror that has terrorized us in one shape or another during the conception/recording process of our new album. May we lay to rest this demon on tonight's Blood Moon, through our song we banish you on this full moon."
Georgia metallers Hallows Eve have issued the following statement about bringing on a new drummer:
"Hello people, Hallows Eve would like to welcome Scooch as our new drummer. Scooch brings many years of experience to the band and will prove to be a core member. Cheers to you, Scooch! Thanks for the on going support everyone. We'll be out soon."

Norway's Dødheimsgard has issued the following announcement about the band's next upcoming live show, which will occur in March 2011:

Peruvian death metal band Raped By Pigs has issued the following announcement about writing songs for the band's debut full-length album:
"Hey dudes, writing new songs for our debut album. It will be a great album and very heavy, more news soon. Much power with new songs, but we need your support, we offer a t-shirt and the money is for the recording (not for our pockets)."

The Iniquity Descent, the new project featuring Finntroll's Vreth, has checked in with the following update about working on new material:
"First day off mixing is over! The basic sound has been found and the first two songs of the EP are very near their final state, only some minor changes to do tomorrow. The overall sound is really great and powerful!
"The mixing session will will continue throughout the weekend and next Tuesday is scheduled for mastering. The mastering will take place at Nordic Audio Labs by Sami 'Hannu' Koivisto and us. Stay tuned for more news!"
Update: The streaming period for this release is now over and "Finis Origine Pendet" is out now.
Metalunderground.com is proud to premiere the exclusive stream of Greek symphonic black metal band Unholy Ritual's upcoming EP, "Finis Origine Pendet" (reviewed here). The four track EP was mixed and mastered by Andy Classen at the renowned Stage One Studios (Belphegor, Krisiun, Dew Sented, Naglefar, Rotting Christ, Asphyx, Graveworm, etc.) in Germany. Cover art was done by the Andreas Marschall (Blind Guardian, Dimmu Borgir, The Kovenant, King Diamond, etc.).
"Finis Origine Pendet," which is due out October 30th and translates as "The beginning shapes the end," will be the band's self-financed follow up to "Rex Mundi." "Rex Mundi" was issued in 2008 by Emotion Art Music following the band's three-year hiatus.

German power metal act Helloween is streaming its upcoming studio album "7 Sinners" in its entirety through its official Myspace page. Planned to be released sometime in October through SPV/Steamhammer Records, "7 Sinners" was recorded at Mi Sueno Studios belonging to singer Andi Deris in Tenerife, Spain and was produced by Charlie Bauerfeind.
