As They Sleep is set to release the new album "Dynasty" on November 22nd, 2010. The band has now posted the following statement online explaining the concept of the album:
"Doing a concept album is something we have always talked about. I've always found it awesome to be able to tie everything together on a record and have it all revolve around the same subject. We wanted to make this album as brutal as possible as well as staying true to our roots; to raise the bar in all aspects of the music, but keep it colorful and fresh.
"Brutality aside, 'Dynasty' focuses mainly on the rise and fall of various kingdoms, empires and dynasties throughout history, both factual and mythological. It ties in the reasons for collapse with power and battle-lust, and intertwines it all with modern problems and politics that we are dealing with today. It pretty much outlines popular stories in history regarding false gods, struggle, famine, dictatorship, and why these things didn't work.
"The album starts off with 'Oracle of the Dead' - a balls to the wall look at Hades, the so-called 'God of the underworld.' It then ventures through history, examining ancient Egypt, the Mayan civilization, and even Attila the Hun (look him up kids) only to wrap it all up with 'The Unseen:' a kingdom we can only dream of, and exists only through faith. Oceano hasn't been around long, but has had their share of problems. Van crashes on tour and the resignation of both guitarists have made for plenty of headlines while they only had one album released. 2010 has been more kind to Oceano, though. Angela Gossow of Arch Enemy recently conducted a Romanian interview with Maximum Rock Magazine, in which she discusses issues such as atheism, veganism, and the use of satanic themes in metal music. Excerpts from the interview can be read below.
Maximum Rock: I read your biography and some of your answers to the fans and I can see that you are a really committed and determined person and really involved in political issues, with a strong and right attitude against racism, globalization and stuff like that. How do you think you can raise the awareness regarding these issues among youngsters?
Angela: I think people look for answers, I think that’s what’s great about the young generation, that’s why they’re most likely to make changes and start up little revolutions, you know… Because you’re more rebellious as a teenager, a lot of people get tired when they get older and I think it’s important to stay in the dialog with young kids. I tell as much as I can about me, about what I believe in and a lot of people pick up on that because they look actively for inspiration. Some have questions and I try to answer them and make them realize that we’re living in an age where we all know that our world is dying for one thing and we know that wars are not the answer to any political problem, yet environmental destruction is still ongoing and there’s still a lot of wars raging. It’s absurd. The war in Iraq is not over despite the fact that it’s out of the news. It’s a very confusing time people live in and it’s very frightening as well… It feels a bit like end time, doesn’t it? I don’t really preach about what I do, I only answer questions, like when people ask me why am I a vegan, I explain it to them, or why am I an atheist, I explain it to them. But I’m quite careful with these things because I definitely don’t want to be a preacher, there’s enough preachers out there and a lot end up in politics and religion and I mistrust preachers. I rather practice and set an example. I think it’s important to let people know what I believe in, because I feel responsible for my actions and I also feel responsible for telling young kids the right things.More...

"'Death or Dishonour' is another song about revenge. It's about those things that happen to you that you subconsciously bury, or drift from your memory as time passes, but are always there lying dormant.
"You only need to see a person, or visit a place or hear a song on the radio to bring it all flooding back. This is about taking things to the next level and making whoever truly pay for their wrong doings.......not that I condone such actions obviously, but it make great fuel for heavy angry music!"

Italy's Aborym had previously announced Davide Tiso (Ephel Duath) and Karyn Crisis (Karyn Crisis Band) are performing guest spots on the band's new album "Psychogrotesque," which is set to drop on November 8th, 2010. Davide Tiso commented on working with Aborym:
"I have nothing but respect for Aborym. I followed and supported the band since their '99 Kali Yuga Bizarre and I consider Aborym the boldest extreme metal act ever born in Italy. I find remarkable their ability in reinventing themselves album after album. Aborym is a lonely beast in the underground metal forest, and Fabban is a truly visionary leader: I'm proud of what he's reaching with his music. I'm sure Aborym will continue to surprise in the future, this is what they usually do. It has been a pleasure to do a guest appearance in their new album and I'm particularly touched by what Karyn did on those songs. I still have shivers thinking about that one vocal take she did on the album's closing song! I wish Aborym to receive the massive attention they deserve."
Karyn Crisis also added: "It's not often that I feel connected enough to someone else's music to want to sing on it. Music is a strange, foreign language to me, yet Aborym's new album was a language I identified with. It speaks a psychological dialect I understand, yet it's at the same time new and surprising. The concept and rhythmic ideas are great, and it's been a very real pleasure to be a part of it."
Guitarist/vocalist Nicolao Dos Santos of Germany's Hadean has issued the following statement about the release of the band's new album "Parasite:"
"The album Parasite is now available in all major online music stores like iTunes, Amazon, 7digital etc.! But for physical orders please shoot us an e-mail, as we highly recommend to get hold of the jewel case including the 12 pages strong booklet, for it is not only a musical and lyrical, but also a graphical concept, and simply killer looking!
"Stay tuned for concerts supporting this long player, the band is preparing for shows and some extremely special live events!"

Frontman Oderus Urungus has offered advice on how to survive a Gwar show, according to Calgary's Metro. Here are a few excerpts from the article:
“The best way to survive one of our shows is probably to just not go,” warns Oderus Urungus, front-thing for heavy metal space mutants Gwar, the self-proclaimed, “most titanic, apocalyptic, loudest, smelliest and disgusting rock 'n' roll band in history.”
What To Wear:
It all depends on your desired outcome. Want to be a target for mayhem? Stuck for a last-minute Halloween costume? Wear something crisply white and head for centre stage. With their endless dousing of carnage, you're sure to come out making Regan MacNeil from The Exorcist look like the “After” side of a detergent commercial.
What To Bring:
A healthy sense of humour (political incorrectness is a plus for reasons we can't divulge), a strong stomach and a change of clothes. And earplugs.
What Not To Say:
How many times you've seen them. At least not to the band, as Urungus takes it as an affront, thinking the band kills the entire crowd nightly. When fans claim attending multiple shows he cries, “How the hell did that happen? I thought we killed everybody.” Alternately, avoid comparing Gwar to other costumed rock bands (Lordi, Mushroomhead or even KISS) to fans. That might get you impaled for real.
What To Do:
Again, it hinges on your intended experience. Step up front for an interactive encounter including stage diving, moshing, curse-laden taunting from Urungus and refreshing gore sprayed constantly. For the voyeur, stay well back and enjoy the massacre of various puppets/papier-mâché creations.

The following update has been posted on the official MyGrain web site:
"The album that is released on 12th of January, carries the name MyGrain. The band feels that this is a new beginning: there has been line-up changes and steps have been taken into a more progressive style, not forgetting the familiar things that make the band what it is. The album was recorded and produced by Janne Joutsenniemi (Suburban Tribe, Stone), mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö.
"MyGrain released their first album, 'Orbit Dance,' in 2006 and the second album, 'Signs of Existence,' followed up two years later. Both the albums got positive feedback from the audience, not forgetting the critics. As the new album is released, the band will start an extensive tour in Finland - starting from Helsinki on 27th of January. The other tour dates will be released later."
