Nightwish is showing respect for Finnish singer/songwriter veteran Jaakko Teppo by recording his song “Hilma ja Onni” in Finnish. Out of Norway's biggest and darkest metal bands rises Ov Hell. This group of Satan’s all-stars has been sharpening their teeth in some of black metal's most influential bands for many years. Known as key figures in bands such as Dimmu Borgir and Gorgoroth, Shagrath and King have come together to bring forward a new chapter in Norwegian black metal history. Ov Hell will carry on in the same tradition for which King and Shagrath are known, but the collaboration between the two will mark a new era for them both.
Frost (Satyricon, 1349), Ice Dale (Enslaved, I) and Teloch (Nidingr, God Seed, 1349) have been recruited for the first full-length release. The album will contain all of the power and blast beats worthy of their evil pedigrees.
King comments: "The first Ov Hell release will contain music I've worked on in my Gorgoroth and God Seed years. It's been a little hell to actually see this music form into a band, so the name of the band is quite suitable. Through the first song I got from Shagrath I knew that he would be the perfect man to join forces with. He has strong individual qualities and a strong will to power. I am very positive that when we finish up this album it will be an album that won't sound like anything we have done before, and with a quality that won't stand back from anything presented in black metal earlier!"
Shagrath comments: “With both of our demanding music careers and other projects, timing was not on our side. After last years inferno festival, King and I yet again joined forces to brainstorm our need to collaborate our passion for dark art. Over the course of the past year, King sent me demo ideas that were so inspiring it made me put my skeptic feelings aside. I wasn't sure if I wanted to have another Black Metal project but my unquenchable thirst to explore my darkest beast, launched the birth Ov Hell. The majestic Ov Hell has become a band that reflects our roots, raw, ugly, arrogantly blasphemous with uncompromising truth from two influential Norwegian musicians needing to express our primitive side, straight out Ov Hell.”
Two new tracks, "Devil's Harlot" and "Ghosting" from the yet untitled upcoming album, have been uploaded to the band's MySpace.
Shagrath (Dimmu Borgir, Chrome Division) - vocals
King (God Seed, Gorgoroth, Jotunspor, I, Sahg, Audrey Horne) - bass
Ice Dale (Enslaved, I, Audrey Horne, Trinacria, Demonaz) - guitar
Frost (Satyricon, 1349) - drums
Teloch (Nidingr, God Seed, 1349, Umoral) – guitar.

Hail!, the band comprised of Andreas Kisser from Sepultura, Ripper Owens from Judas Priest, David Ellefson formerly of Megadeth, and newly announced sticks man Paul Bostaph from Slayer, will be the first metal band to play live in Lebanon. On November 20th, Hail! will play the historic concert at Hektic Hall in the capitol city of Beirut.
“Breaking ground on an international level is what HAIL! is all about,” explained manager Mark “Abba” Abbattista, “when we first started discussing the idea of HAIL! we wondered how far we could actually push the reality of a dream. Anybody can come up with a good idea, but to create a model that no one else has ever before conceived and then to execute that plan to the level that we have makes our chests swell with pride.”
David Ellefson added “This truly is a monumental occasion - to do something for the first time ever is a rare and special opportunity. I can’t believe that it was 25 years ago, but remember how astounding it was when Iron Maiden went behind the iron curtain and played in the eastern bloc? I relate it to that and I am thrilled to be a part of something that has this kind of historic significance.” More...

"Hell-o y'all metalheadz out there!
"I thought it would be a great idea to introduce myself in this way, as it's been a lot of questions lately about who I am... Well, my name is Martin and I'm the new bass-dude in the Swarm of Death, a.k.a. Daemonicus! I'm glad as hell and very proud to be a member in this unholy assemble, and I hope I will provide a lot of death, rotten stench, slimy worms, poisonous mushrooms, and dark influences to Daemonicus future tunes...haha! I'm a kind of crazy with a lot of stupid ideas, and I often go berzerk live... So I hope you'll enjoy the upcoming shows! I am endorsed by Woodo Guitars and my present main axe is a brutally good-looking and awesome Woodo B6 Black Walnut.
"I am(/was?) the growlmeister in the band Mesolimbic (techdeath-band formerly known as Knife In Christ) but as there's been no action at all in there for a time, I have decided to give all my energy into the evilness of playing bass in the greatest deathmetal-band of them all; Daemonicus! - DIEmonicus, haha... I've also appeared in a bunch of unknown crap-bands earlier, but enough about that for now. I'm really excited to amuse, abuse, meet and greet you all metalheads out there on the road! Stay tuned in this blog for more info and news, upcoming tour dates, new merch, etc... I can say foh sure, it's a lot going on right now in the Daemonicus camp! So again, stay tuned and remember: Keep it BRUTAL!

Plans are also in the works for the band to film another video for the bands debut "Romulus." The video will be shot once again by director Ivan Colic and producer Stanimir Lucik in Belgrade, Serbia. The filming will take place in early January 2010 and will be released in the month of Mars (March) to celebrate Mars, the ancient Roman god of war.
Commented vocalist Maurizio Iacono: "The first video clip we did was for the title track Romulus. It was an epic venture into the beginning of Romes birth and mythology and served as more of an introduction to the story. This time we’re going to do a video that will turn everyone on their heads. ‘In Her Dark Embrace’ will depict a Roman battle scene. Were not going for airplay here, were going for what Rome was: the most brutal and efficient war machine that ever walked the earth. If it’s blood the people want it’s blood they will get. I can’t wait to get this done.”
Ex Deo's upcoming tour dates are as follows: More...

Danish metallers Mnemic are currently set to release their new album "Sons of the System" on January 18th via Nuclear Blast Records. Mnemic has issued the following statement about the recording of the album:
"Finally we are done tracking all of our instruments, except for vocals, samples and keys. Since we all are into ProTools, we are all contributing more or less with ideas. Guillaume started tracking vocals today, he is a bit rusty since he didn’t scream for the last couple of months, but I quite like it. His screaming vocals sound, and I am not sure if it’s a good idea to say it, but I will say it, like Michaels at some passages. That’s exactly the first thing that came out of Rune’s mouth when we heard the first tracked song. Kind of weird if I may add, but as long as it sounds good to us, it doesn’t really matter in the end.
"The main point of this recording is basically 'two brains are better than one' – it has been a more collaborative process, actually it’s been the most collaborative process we have ever undertaken. I guess that is how you learn over the years how to cooperate with your friends, you learn to respect other ideas and everyone takes the constructive criticism, if there is any – no hard feelings, we are all contributing for a greater cause, so to say. I can’t wait for all of you to hear what’s coming out of this monster!"
The currently confirmed song titles are as follows:
Climbing Towards Stars
March Of The Tripods

Solstafir has issued the following recap of their recent tour dates:
"Nürnberg – Hirsch – Monday 05. October We arrived in Nürnberg with a massive Pálinka hangover, imported straight from Budapest. I was too wasted to help out with the load in and just tried to sleep the hangover away. The gig was not one of our best, but again the audience seemed to like it.
78 Days in the Desert
Ritual of Fire
"Pratteln – Z7 – Tuesday 06. October: The Z7 club in Pratteln is without doubt the biggest venue of this tour (except for Turbinehalle in Oberhousen – but that was a festival). With the biggest indoor stage and PA system I had ever seen, I knew we would at least have a good time playing, even if the hall would be empty. Sure thing the hall was not really packed, but ca 200 people paid in, which is good enough considering it was a Tuesday night and Pentagram and Trouble played there the night before, and Cannibal Corpse two night before that. And with a schedule like that almost every night, Z7 is almost over saturated with good concerts. More...
Arch Enemy just recently released "The Root Of All Evil," a collection of re-recorded material from the band’s first three albums, revitalized and reenergized by their current line-up. Right now, the band is touring through Asia and mastermind Michael Amott has posted the following report:
"We're on a tour of Asia, just about to hit the stage here in Manila, Philippines! A couple of days ago we played the LOUD PARK 09 festival at the giant Makahuri Messe Hall in Tokyo, Japan! I had a great time on stage at the LOUD PARK Festival as usual, the conditions are extremely professional and there is really nothing you can complain about – which is of course the level of greatness we have come to expect when we play in Japan!
"We played a special setlist consisting of quite a few songs from our recently released “The Root Of All Evil” CD. Thank you to everyone who made noise for us, screamed, shouted, fistbanged, moshed – whatever you did, it was great and we felt your energy up there on the stage!" More...

Hate Gallery, which features current Warrior Soul members Rille Lundell and Janne Jarvis, will release their new six track E.P "Dead Celebrities" on 11/23.
Vocalist/bassist Janne Jarvis issued the following statement about the EP: "The title track is a modern day fairytale about a 'fictional' amoral British celebrity who epitomizes the Cult of Celebrity and who earns the disgust of a nation and it's media yet is considered a saint at the time of their untimely death. Were not pulling any punches with the title track and it's pretty easy to figure out who and what it's about. We're sick of the cult of celebrity and appalled at the media saturation and Mooney-esque brainwashing that goes with it. Live like a pig, die like a saint?"
The single "Dead Celebrity (Queen of the Damned)" will be available as a free download on Monday 26th October exclusively from this location. Two new tracks from the EP are now streaming at the band's MySpace page. Hate Gallery will release their second album "Viva La Resistance!' in February 2010.
