Disparager Issues Remixed, A Capella "Pictures"

Disparager will kick off the "Sayonara Summer Tour" beginning tomorrow October 3rd in Brooklyn, NY with a special show alongside 36 Crazyfists. In conjunction with the tour starting, Disparager has teamed up with Metal Sucks for an exclusive premiere of the remixed, acapella version of their song "Pictures (REMIX)." Check out the exclusive premiere over at this location, or simply stay right here and check it out at the bottom of this article.

On releasing "Pictures (REMIX)," AhKao says, "The EP version of 'Pictures' is pretty much a blaster with loud drums, heavy bass and guitar distortion, odd time signatures, and screams. So it was crazy fun to do a stripped down, nearly-entirely a cappella version. I think like it really brings out the chord qualities and gives the lyrics new emotional depth. Also, we're hoping the track will draw attention to our upcoming tour. The bookers, clubs, and other bands have been working hard to make this happen for us, and the Disparager boys and I are truly grateful."

Following tomorrow's show, Disparager will play shows alongside Genosha, Your Chance to Die, and Set and Setting. The tour runs through October 19th in Atlanta, GA. The full itinerary can be seen below.

After a line up change and nearly three years of blood, sweat, and tears, Disparager is as brutal and hypnotic as metal can be. The band has always been an extension of frontman Chris AhKao regaining his life from personal demons, but the guys' live set has become unreal. Witness some of the darkest, most soul crushing, punishing vortex of anguish humankind is capable of... when you catch Desparager on tour... if you dare.

Recorded with producer Jay Maas (Defeater, Bane, H2O, American Nightmare, Polar Bear Club), Timeless, Ageless is bursting with dense rawness and precision while pushing the boundaries of metal with tracks like "At Least I Still Have Bon Iver" - half folk song, half crushing mix of Isis and Slayer - and "Pictures" - a time signature mindfuck the band is proud NOT to call prog rock.

Talv To Release "Entering A Timeless Winter"

Italian atmospheric black metal act Tav is set to release the new album "Entering A Timeless Winter" on November 3rd through A Sad Sadness Song Records. The album is the third full length release from the band.

Hailing from Italy, Talv started in early 2012 under the name of Trees In The Fog. The purpose has always been to merge dissonant and melancholic black metal with a touch of ambient music. Like painting a dismal scenario, Talv’s new effort is drowned into the darkest north-Italian naturalistic black metal inspiration. The cold and freezing guitar sound reminds of Tenebrae in Perpetuum and Beatrik’s classics, while the prevailing desperate feelings position the band within the groove of depressive black metal.

What makes of Talv a personal and unique project is the wise equilibrium between a hateful, cold hunger and a fragile background soundscape. The ColdWorld cover further emphasizes the strong visionary ambient perspective and inspiration of this raising underground project.

The band commented: "'Entering a Timeless Winter' is going to reveal the artistic direction of this new cold journey.”

The track listing is:

1. Dreaming a Funeral in Another Life
2. A Sad Moon Concealed by Pines
3. An Eternal Snowfall Will Come
4. Sidereal Hypothermia
5. Winterreise (Coldworld cover) More...

The Modern Age Of Slavery Announced "Stygian"

Italian death metal/deathcore act The Modern Age Of Slavery is streaming the new song "The Reprisal Within" via MetalSucks at this location, or even easier right in the player at the bottom. The song is taken from the new album "Stygian," which is set to drop on November 24th via Innerstrength Records.

Pre-orders are available at this location.

Coming almost four years since the release of critically acclaimed 2013 release "Requiem for Us All" (Pavement), the level-jumping blast of intensity on the band's Innerstrength debut is the result of miles logged and the already dynamic songwriting honed to a fine point.

The band has released the following statement about the new album: "With this new album we tried to make another step forward in the evolution of our sound: what you'll hear it's a quite obscure atmosphere delivering a sullen and evil experience, yet keeping the heaviness of the death metal matrix that marked our music in the previous albums. The lyrics are all inspired by a common theme, from which the name "Stygian" and the correlated artwork come from, discussing the questionable matter of the human evolution leading men to a slow but inevitable mutation into a being that lost his mind and compassion devoured by greediness and will to power. All the pieces of the puzzle are perfectly pondered to create an album made of passion, of anger, and real emotions. This is the The Modern Age's album!"

The track listing is:

1. A Stygian Tide
2. Miles Apart
3. Prelude To An Evolution
4. Regression Through Unlearning
5. Sandblasted Skin (Pantera Cover)
6. The Hollow Men
7. The Place We Call Home

Agusa Streams New Song "Bortom Hemom"

With the eponymous third LP from Sweden's psychedelic prog rock alchemists Agusa confirmed for late October release through Laser's Edge, the album's closing movement "Bortom Hemom" has been made available for streaming in the player below.

Agusa was recorded and mixed by Viktor Rinneby and mastered by Grammy-winning engineer Bob Katz, and sees the band delivering the singular brand of trance-inducing, folk-inspired, psychedelic rock through more traditional track lengths, offering five songs which range from five to ten-and-a-half minutes in length and are a bit heavier than the album's predecessors.

Agusa's Mikael Ödesjö offers of the song:"'Bortom Hemom' translates roughly as 'Beyond Homeward' and consists of two sections joined together by a bridge. The first part is in 7/4 and the second in 3/4. Perhaps our most 'progressive' effort this far. Enjoy!"

The follow-up to 2015's "Agusa 2" (Två ) sees the Agusa circleexpanding the kaleidoscopic output which conjures images of nature and the cosmos, the extensive passages again leading the listener into fantastic realms of a possibly supernatural or parallel existence. The record is completed with fantastic artwork by Danilo Stankovic and design by Peter Wallgren.

Laser's Edge will release Agusa on digital, CD, and LP on October 27th. The track list is:

1. Landet Längesen
2. Sorgenfri
3. Den Förtrollade skogen
4. Sagor från Saaris

Demonical To Enter Studio For Fifth Full Length LP

Next month, the Swedish death metal band Demonical will start recording what will become the fifth full-length album and first for Agonia Records. It is expected to be released in early 2018.

A new EP titled "Black Flesh Redemption" and a handful of festival appearances, tours, and one-off dates, carried Demonical through 2015 & 2016, yet it's about time to announce a successor to "Darkness Unbound," the band's last studio album from late 2013.

The twin, more melodic brother to Centinex, Demonical emerged on the latter's ashes in 2006, and little did expect to share the same frontman, Alexander Högbom (also of October Tide), since April this year. The new album will be the first to feature him on vocals, after the departure of the band's long-time signer, Sverker Widgren, and first to feature a strong, well bonded line-up.

Demonical issued the following statement: "We're off on the path towards the untrodden might once again. On the 8th of November, we will start to nail down our fifth full-length album, the first one to feature our new vocalist Alexander Högbom and the first recording in years featuring a permanent 5-piece line-up.

"The sessions will take place at various locations around Sweden and the recording will be mixed and mastered by the award winning producer Karl Daniel Lidén, know from his work with acts such as Terra Tenebrosa, Katatonia and Cult of Luna.

"The album will continue the traditional Demonical path with fierce HM-2 driven Swedish death metal, however, it will also feature some new elements and streaks we haven’t explored before as well as bringing forth traces from the past.

"Expect a spring 2018 release through Agonia Records followed by worldwide touring." More...

Cryptic Fog Streams New Song From Debut Album

Indiana death metal cult Cryptic Fog premiered the new track "The Grand Berator Walks Amongst the Hall of Misery" at NoCleanSinging over at this location. The track hails from the band's highly anticipated debut album "Staring Through the Veil," set for international release on October 27th via Blood Harvest Records.

Hailing from the American Midwest, Cryptic Fog is one of the death metal underground's true, as-yet-discovered gems. To date, the band have only a demo to its name, from the very beginnings in 2009, but the band has been patient and plying away at its trade to craft to twisted majesty of "Staring Through the Veil." Based around the songwriting duo of guitarist/bassist Dave Bennett and drummer Dan Klein, with Klein handling all vocals, together the band has delivered a work that ably balances aggression and atmosphere, performance and production.

While grounded firmly in the long-running traditions of death metal on both sides of the Atlantic - thus, Tampa as much as Stockholm - Cryptic Fog isn't afraid to blacken to a crisp the percolating compositions, which explode and retract and then twist further, only to explode into another angle, always offering the listener some new diabolical construct to warp the mind. And yet, for however serpentine the five songs comprising "Staring Through the Veil" may be, the band manages to skillfully revisit and reiterate motifs, making the 46-minute album truly a journey but, above all, a highly memorable one. And that's to say nothing of the gleaming-yet-grimy production - as clear and precise as the playing, but maintaining the same gnarliness that underpins the album's lyrical themes.

While the band seeks to eventually have a working live lineup, Cryptic Fog has at least managed to deliver a work that will stand the test of time, as a monument to the boundless power and imagination as the death metal art form. Begin "Staring Through the Veil" and take your first steps toward an unforgettable journey!

The track listing for the album is:

1. The Grand Berator Walks Amongst the Hall of Misery
2. Cast Into the Ghastly Pits of Execration
3. Cursed Oil Upon the Abhorrent Idols of Man
