Sweden's Hostile Cell has posted the following MySpace blog regarding getting radio play in Nicaragua and responding to a negative review by Sweden Rock magazine:
"Hey everyone, Hostile Cell has been getting airplay on national radio in Nicaragua! Very exciting indeed. In other news I just want to bash the idiot who reviewed the Deafening in Sweden Rock magazine. Look, if you don't like the genre, give the CD to someone who cares about it or why don't you just go fuck yourself.
"You gave the album 3 out of 10 and compared us with, in your own words, 'such uninteresting bands as Sonic Syndicate and Dead by April.' They may be uninteresting to your cave dwelling, underground shit taste, but that's what a lot of people like right now. That just proves how fucking stupid and unprofessional you are. I can take a bad review, if it's got some real content. You're writing that you can't stand pop with growl and metal riffs. Well don't review the album then you fucking idiot.
"They should ban you from reviewing another band, especially a small band that unfortunately is dependent on the reviews of such magazines. So, Simon Lundh, my review of your opinions is zip out of 100. Go fuck yourself."
You can check out the band's music on the Hostile Cell MySpace page and decide for yourself how the music sounds.

"We're still around. We have been hard at work the last few months completing what's to become our third album which as promised will be a double album. Get ready for a lethal dose. We don't have a title for it yet but some of the songs that will appear on it are: Delusional, Malice, Decay and Distant Exit. The latter being a track similar to Transcending.......let's not say more for now. Studio time is booked with Chris Donaldson (Cryptopsy, The Last Felony, Neuraxis) starting on November 15th. He will once again be recording the drum tracks this time performed by Phil (Truesdell) who is definitely prepared to deliver the goods and put the record straight on being our real drummer. If everything goes according to plan (that rarely happens) we intend to be done with the album in March and then we start looking for a label to help distribute it as soon as possible.
"On the performing front, our last concert of the year will be our annual 'headlining show.' It will take place at Il Motore on saturday November 13th. We'll be sharing the stage with the youngsters in Salvation and Towards Darkness who will close the hostilities. Come prepared... all bands on the bill intend to take no prisoners and we (Vengeful) have a few surprises in store for you. On the global metal front, our thoughts are with Nergal (Behemoth). It would be terrible to lose 'yet another' influential musician this year. More...

Chris Howorth of In This Moment has written an article about how to tour for two months with a metal band. An excerpt from the article follows:
1. Packing – Clothes/Toiletries/Shoes
Most people have no idea how to pack for a 2 month tour. When touring in a van you have to pack guerrilla style because the first thing you realize when everyone in your band shows up with a huge suitcase is that you have no place to put everything (on our first tour at every venue we had to spend 10min unloading all the suitcases before we could even start loading gear) For a van tour I recommend a medium sized suitcase and a backpack. Pack a couple pairs of pants and as many socks, underwear and t-shirts as you can cram in your bag. Socks and underwear are key here. Put your computer, iPod and other related items in your backpack. Get one of those little toiletries bags (with a hook for hanging) for all your bathroom stuff. This way you can run in and out of truck stop, hotel and venue bathrooms without dragging your whole suitcase everywhere you go. On our last tour I brought my big suitcase (we were on a bus) and I counted to make sure I had at least 30 pairs of socks, 30 pairs of undies, and 30 t-shirts. That way I am not always concerned about when and where to do laundry (Sometimes doing laundry on tour can be a huge pain in the a**).
SHOES: Bring a pair of show shoes, a pair of everyday shoes and a pair of flip flops, and use gold bond foot powder every time you put them on. Shoes have a way of taking over bus hallways or van floors so a cheap shoe rack is a worthwhile.
Obviously you need to bring whatever gear is necessary for your band to put on the best show possible but first timers always bring too much stuff. WARNING: anything you bring that you aren’t using onstage will become a problem. You will be loading and unloading things you don’t even need. Just think about what you are bringing and make sure you really need it because you will be dragging it all over the country for the duration of your tour.More...

"Jason was a dear friend and a true brother to all of us. He was an amazing talent, a loving personality, and a true gentleman with a heart of gold. The remaining members of ABACINATE are deeply, deeply saddened by his loss.
"Before his untimely demise, Jay was immortalized on our most recent recording. It is the first and only recording that will actually be released with Jay performing the vocal duties for ABACINATE. The album, set to be released in late 2010, is dedicated to Jay and all of his loved ones.
"Although Jay was only a member of the ABACINATE roster for about one year, we soared to new heights together, and experienced much success and prosperity that we had yet to achieve in the prior years of our existence as a band. Jay had the pleasure of doing two U.S. tours, many festivals, and an LP with us during his short run. We are very proud and honored that we were such a huge part of his life.
"As of right now, ABACINATE plans on taking a short hiatus in order to collect our thoughts and get through this terrible time in a healthy way. We will having a benefit show for Jay somewhere in NJ in the upcoming months in order to raise funds for his family, and to say goodbye to him with the rest of the music community in a proper way. Details for this benefit show will be provided as we solidify the plans.
"Jay's family and all of us here at the ABACINATE camp would like to express our appreciation to anyone and everyone who reached out to us during this difficult time to extend their sympathy. All the friends we have made on the road, the bands, and the fans have been so kind and loving. For that, we cannot thank you enough.
"Our thoughts, wishes, and deepest sympathy go out to Jay's family every moment of every day.
"Rest in peace, Jay. You will NEVER be forgotten. Thank you for letting us be a part of your life.
