Swiss post-metal band Kruger started the recordings for the follow up to their highly praised "Redemption through Looseness" in September.

Swedish metallers Iron Lamb have signed to Pulverized Records for the release of their debut full-length album. Pulverized Records issued the following statement about the record deal:
"One of Sweden’s newest, scruffiest and back-to-the-roots Punk rock band IRON LAMB, consisting of some of Extreme Metal’s most prominent figures in the scene, is now officially a part of the Pulverised Records family! Fronted by singer Grga Lindström (ex-Repugnant), this all-star line-up also consists of Johan Wallin of General Surgery on guitars, Thomas Daun of Dismember on drums and 'Swedish Death Metal Book' author Daniel Ekeroth, also of Tyrant and ex-Insision fame on bass. IRON LAMB is slated to record their debut untitled full-length and should see the light of day in the first quarter of 2010. IRON LAMB is probably one of the most unlikely kind of band to be on our roster, but their infectious brand of filthrock and the straight-up Motorhead-esque riffs is absolutely something that we missed and loved from the old days. So naturally, there was definitely no question about it when the band approached us to work with them on the debut full-length album!”
Iron Lamb guitarist Johan Wallin also issued the following statement: "Iron Lamb are stoked on doing our first full-length on Pulverised Records! We are currently working on the songs and preparing for the first shows, and will be ready to record during the first few months of 2010. Expect a whole lot of dubious preaching scumbag rock n roll!

He is currently getting proper medical care and hopes to be on his feet and in less pain by the end of the week, at which time we will determine how soon we can reschedule these South America dates. Killswitch would like to apologize to their fans in South America for this set back and want to assure them that the band has every intention to make up these dates in the near future.
"Killswitch would also like to thank Marcos Suarez from Liberation Music Company as well as all the other South America promoters who helped to put this tour together: El Cambio Music / Volumen 4 (Argentina), BTS Producciones / The Knife (Chile), Alarma Producciones (Ecuador), Inmigrant Music (Colombia). We definitely appreciate all of your hard work and we will be sure to let Marcos know as soon as we have new dates to come to South America with his help. Thanks, KsE"

Belphegor has posted a new music video online for the song "Der Geistertreiber," which can be viewed below.
Belphegor's Helmuth made this statement about the track: “The song is about the celebration on the 30th of April, better known as the Walpurgis Nacht, the occult celebrations on the mountain. It’s the first time that we hired a professional camera team for a BELPHEGOR video, so the result is beyond amazing. We rented a cottage three days high in the mountains in middle of nowhere in the woods. There was nothing around. Just a lot of excess, alcohol, substances etc. Was a great intense time!”
The song was taken from the band's upcoming album "Walpurgis Rites - Hexenwahn," which is to be released via Nuclear Blast Records on October 9th (Europe) and 20th (North America).
Former Killswitch Engage singer Jesse Leach (also Seemless) has resurfaced in a new band called The Empire Shall Fall. The band's debut album, "Awaken," will be released on November 17, 2009. Until then, the band has posted a promotional video for the album, which you can watch below.
Los Angeles, California based heavy metal veterans Armored Saint has announced that they will shortly be entering Tranzformer Studios in Burbank, CA to begin recording their sixth studio album. Tranzformer Studios is owned by Dave Jerdan, who previously worked with the band on their 1991 effort, "Symbol Of Salvation." Some of the song titles set to appear on the next record include, "Blues," "Black Feet," "Left Hook From The Right Field," "La Raza," "Chilled," "Loose Cannon" and "Get Off The Fence."
Vocalist John Bush says about the record, "About a year and a half or so ago Joey asked me if I'd be interested in writing some songs. I was in the right mind finally, so I said send me something. To be quite honest, I wasn't thinking in terms of Armored Saint but more like just writing rock music. I felt pretty free with that mentality and the ideas felt very organic. With every passing song things improved and next thing we knew we had about eight songs demoed. Although the idea of sparking something completely new was appealing it became clear that if it was Joey and I the reality was, let's not kid ourselves; this is Armored Saint.
"So here it comes. Embracing my inner R&B singer and coupling that with our influence of the great seventy's hard rock band's we grew up on.?" More...
Given my obsession with Bret Michaels' Rock of Love television reality show, I was excited to hear VH1 had brought back their Behind the Music show and that Michaels would be one of the features. Would the show be more Poison or solo? After three seasons of the show, is there anything new to learn about Bret Michaels? Will Big John make an appearance? These are all questions I was hoping for answers to. As always, the Bret Michaels “AWESOME” shot rules are in play. Each time you hear the word, you take a shot. Tonight my drink is Patron tequila. Let the fiesta begin… More...

Ireland's Gama Bomb has issued the following recording update:
"We're two weeks into our four week recording session for Tales from the Grave in Space in rural Suffolk, a place which is comparable to the surface of Mars in terms of things to do and see, and all is going well. Drums for the album are now complete and sound wicked, and our barn house is ringing day and night with the sound of Domo's solos and my attempts at vocal exercises. Scott Atkins is working his butt off at the mixing desk and we've been drinking Mojitos.
"One night we walked to a pub in the middle of nowhere and walked back down the country road in the dark, and nearly got killed by a few cars on the way. Imagine how famous we'd have been then. Damn."

Polish metallers Crionics has issued the following statement about finishing the recording of their new EP:
"Crionics has just completed works on the production of its new EP entitled 'N.O.I.R'. The recording session took place at Cracow's 'Shindler Factory Studio' and the material was then mixed and mastered by Wieslawscy Bros. at 'Hertz Studio' in Bialystok. Considering many changes within the band over the last year - both in the line-up and the music itself - with 'N.O.I.R' Crionics begins a new chapter in its history...
"After the departure of War-A.N. and Darkside their vacancies were filled by Quazarre (guitar/vocals) known from DEVILISH IMPRESSIONS and ASGAARD while the drums were taken over by Paul of VADER and SOUL SNATCHER. The new bass player for Crionics is Brovar, who had recently worked with BLINDEAD.
"As far as the music itself is concerned - the band didn't change much its direction but decided to take advantage on Quazarre's impressive vocal skills to expand Crionics' creation with clean vocal parts. There are also special guest appearances on the album by Vogg of DECAPITATED and Peter of VADER. Both took part in the recording of RAMMSTEIN's 'Moskau' cover. Vogg recorded parts of accordion while Peter did the German vocal parts of the song. Second cover song is 'Blashyrk (Mighty Ravendark)' by IMMORTAL where Vogg laid down tracks of acoustic guitar."
The track listing for "N.O.I.R." is as follows:
2. Scapegoat (Welcome to Necropolis)
4. Blashyrk (Mighty Ravendark) [Immortal Cover]
5. Moskau [Rammstein Cover]

A good solution has been found to fill up this bass-space so the concert can continue. Daniël regrets he can not be at Progpower, but he will be there at our other gigs."
Drummer Patrick Grün of German metallers Caliban have issued the following tour diary:
"Hey you, out there!
"After one week 'Night of the living shred' US Tour I just wanted to say hello. As usual when touring, you first have to acclimate to the circumstances and all the technical stuff.
"We left to LA from Frankfurt on September, 2nd, and we had a nice offday in the hotel over there. We tried to get used to the local climate by hanging out at the hotel pool. Later Ray, our A&R from Century Media, arrived to bring us to a restaurant. We had a nice dinner in that restaurant, even if it happened to be vegetarian food ;-). Afterwards Ray announced that they got us tickets for the Dodger’s baseball game that evening! How awesome is that?!!!!
"This way we went to the game with a couple of people, which was totally cool. We have never been to a stadium in America to watch a game! A wicked experience! And if that hasn’t been enough, the Dodger’s, that are also leading the League, won the game. GO DODGER’S GO!!!! More...

AC/DC has announced that they will be canceling the next six shows of their Black Ice world tour. Vocalist Brian Johnson issued the following statement about the cancellations:
"It’s an inside job that forced me to reschedule those upcoming 6 shows! Inside being the operative word here. My insides were giving me lots of trouble, ulcers and such. They were really uncomfortable and painful, which required me to seek immediate medical attention. The doctor's looked me over, pocked, scanned and prodded all possible areas. In the end they gave me a clean bill of health, but insisted that I take a bit of time to recuperate and rest up. We've been touring non stop since this time last year and have a lot more touring to do. Thanks for all of the get well wishes and i hope to see you all again very soon."
