I The Breather Reveals Debut Album Details

Baltimore based Christian metalcore act I The Breather has revealed the title and release date for its forthcoming debut full length album. The album, titled "These Are My Sins," is set for release in mid December, 2010 through new label home Sumerian Records.

I The Breather drummer Morgan Wright commented by saying:

"Now that the CD is completed I feel as though a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. I feel anxious and so excited to let everyone hear the work we’ve put into these 11 songs. I’m very proud of this album and I’m just as proud of the guys in this band. This album took a lot of hard work and determination from each of us. We spent long hours in the studio perfecting our sound and structuring the songs just the way they needed to be. Durv (the producer) absolutely killed it and made recording not work, but just us hanging out and playing our instruments, having fun.

"People can expect a very dynamic record. It is full of energy from beginning to end and the recording captures every aspect of each instrument so well. The lyrical content reflects the music in every aspect; the music behind the lyrics has a very angry but melodic at times tone, as do the vocals. The vocals are very raw and in your face, we didn’t hold anything back. The lyrical content comes mainly from a theme of being lost but found, and standing up for what you believe in, taking on the battles that life has to offer. This album sounds huge and really captures everything envisioned at the start of our writing process.

"I would like this CD to be an inspiration to people; if you’re struggling with your faith or need answers, this can help you find what you’ve been looking for. Also seeing kids come to our shows singing along, moving around and having a great time is an inspiration to us. I feel this record definitely fits in with the current scene today. The quality of the recording stands up to any professionally recorded record out there; it’s very loud and holds its own. When making this record we definitely paid attention to how kids received certain things a band does. We made sure our songs were capable of making you move, think, sing or make you want to play along with us at one of our shows.

"Our live show is very energetic, heavy and tight! We all put everything we have into the show. Shawn is known for climbing things on stage and jumping into the audience. None of us like to stand still. We are constantly moving and in your face. We make sure everyone is having fun and moving with us. Interaction between the crowd and us is very important. The main thing we like to accomplish playing is just having fun. There’s always a good vibe when we play. We encourage kids to move and lift their voices to sing along. We are constantly perfecting our live show, so it only gets better as we grow. We hope to see you all soon."

Syrach Seeking New Drummer

Norwegian metallers Syrach, who recently announced the departure of Adam Suleiman, have now issued the following update about seeking a new drummer:

"We are now looking for a new drummer for the phenomenon Syrach. The one we are looking for must be interested in playing and rehearsing with us, and also spend some time and effort to achieve the mutual goal of spreading true Norwegian doom out in the world. The timing for joining the band could not be any better, since we have practically a new album written, and therefore you will have the chance to put your own feel and signature to the songs.

"Also there is good chances for touring around Europe in the 'near' future (we gotta remember that we're talking about doom...). We rehearse in Bergen, so get in touch if you are interested in the gig."

Pantheon I Issues Band Update

Norway's Pantheon I has checked in with the following update about the band's recent and upcoming activity:

"If Pantheon I has seemed uncharacteristically quiet recently it’s because the band has been very, very busy working on things behind the scenes. However, we thought we’d take a few minutes breather and update you on what has been going on.

"First of all, as you all know, we’ve been looking to increase the band by one more person with the addition of a vocalist. With the band expanding so much musically, this will allow Kvebek to put all his energies into the guitar, and give the band a front man who is free to roam the stage and interact more closely with the audience. Seems that there are a lot of very skilled vocalists out there who are interested in joining Pantheon I and we are spending a lot of time listening to demos and doing live auditions. As a band we put 101% into what we do, so the right person for us will not only be good at what they do, which includes singing in both Norwegian and English, and being able to perform both clean and extreme vocals, but also be willing and able to rehearse in Oslo regularly and definitely have a good sense of humour to fit in with the rest of us.

"Secondly, we have been working our asses off recording the preproduction for the next album. We already have 13 new songs ready and whilst we would really like you to hear what you can expect, you’ll just have to wait! We are ready to throw a few surprises your way, and the wait will be worth it. More...

De Profundis Announces Replacement Chennai Show

De Profundis has issued the following announcement about scheduling a replacement Chennai show after the cancellation of a previous gig:

"To our friends in Chennai, following on from last night’s statement, here’s the update. As you may have heard the Open Air gig we were schedule to appear at in your city was pulled due to permission issues. However, De Profundis was very keen on maintaining its commitment to play in front of our fans in Chennai. Following a lot of hard work from all of De Profundis’ entourage, we have secured a last gasp gig in Chennai!

"We will now be playing on Thursday 21st October 9pm at Dublin inside the Sheraton Park Hotel. We realize this isn’t the ideal place to have a metal gig, but with one week to go there weren’t many options available. We tried hard to maintain the date of the 22nd, but again it couldn’t be done. So Thursday 21st OCTOBER 9PM it is!

"Now, regarding getting into the venue here’s the deal. Dublin normally charges 750 rupees cover charge for couples (which would include drinks). Our management has explained that metal heads won’t pay that kind of money, and coming as a couple again isn’t really always practical. So we have negotiated an Exclusive Guest List which will give you free access to Dublin for the night, you pay for individual drinks. The catch is you have to email us your full name so we can include it on the guest list. Please email to management@deprofundistheband.com no later than 11am on 21st October otherwise you will end up paying 750 rupees on the door! Dress Code (for men): CLOSED SHOES and FULL PANTS. The results were pretty killer and so the thought was to share a few of the cuts with you. Currently uploaded are performances of two new songs off the Amethyst EP that we just released along with an oldie but a goodie from When the Dust Settles."

Gwar frontman Oderus added: "Me and the guys are as pleased as pig-shit to accept this near-meaningless accolade from a bunch of booze-sodden degenerates. To walk in the shoes that tread in the footsteps that tied the shoelaces that were Elijah Wood's big ass hairy hobbit feet fills me with a feeling not unlike lust but nothing like nausea. To mumble the words that were the drool that became the Jell-o that fell out of Bill Cosby's butt is the third most important thing to happen to me today. And finally, to lap at the glistening shores that is the toilet that Sarah Silverman left a dookie in is akin to having sex with Jesus's wife. We are honored, pleased, and gassy as hell as we accept this mantle-crushing award and the considerable attached cash prize…there is a cash prize, right?"

The band's new album, "Bloody Pit Of Horror" will be released on November 9th through Metal Blade Records.

U.D.O. Pushes Back Release Date Of New Album

German heavy metallers U.D.O. have announced that its forthcoming studio album, titled "Rev-Raptor," has had its release date pushed back from the original January 14, 2011 date to March 18, 2011. The band released the following statement concerning the album's delay.

"The release of the new album, 'Rev-Raptor', which was initially planned for January 14, 2011 [via AFM Records] was unfortunately postponed to March 18, 2011! The reason therefor is the sadly reappearance of Stefan's strong back suffering which forced him to quit playing drums in ACCEPT back in the days. This setback hit Stefan in the middle of the recording session for the new album and forced everybody to make a longer pause now. Stefan is under medical treatment at a specialist and we all hope that he will recover soon. The show on November 6, 2010 in Augsburg where U.D.O. will be headliner in front of 9,000 expected fans at the Masters of Rock Antenne festival in the Schwabenhalle is not compromised."
