Oathbreaker Parting Ways With Drummer

Oathbreaker just issued the following announcement about parting ways with the band's drummer:

"It is with a heavy heart that we announce that our drummer Ivo Debrabandere is leaving the band. His decision has not been an easy one, because for the past eight years, Ivo has not only been a great drummer and band member to us, but also someone who lifted Oathbreaker to a higher level and above all, a friend, who we dearly love and respect. We wish him all the best with his band Partisan and any other future endeavors.

"We welcome Wim Coppers to the band as our new drummer. Wim has been a close friend of ours since Oathbreaker toured with his old band Rise And Fall years ago, and he also plays with Gilles in Wiegedood. We're currently on tour with this line-up and you can catch us somewhere in the US or Europe in the coming months."

Ivo states himself: "Because of both personal and health related reasons, I have decided to leave Oathbreaker. There is no animosity whatsoever. I want the band to reach its full potential and I feel this is the right decision for all involved, as difficult as it may be. I have nothing but love for both the band and its members, who I hold very dear." More...

"In 2006 Hells Headbangers Records contacted members of Dead Conspiracy with the idea of releasing a compilation of the band’s demos. The result was the 19-track 'Gore Drenched Legacy,' complete with a booklet full of liner notes, photos, lyrics and concert fliers. The deal with Hells Headbangers awakened the beast and Dead Conspiracy returned with a new lineup at 2012's Goregon Massacre Festival III.

We will be debuting a handful of new songs on this tour that we've never toured with before, all of them going in a new direction for Theories; still grindy and brutal but more mature musically, focused more on intricate and driving riffs, devastating beats, and more well-rounded, all over the place vocal attack. Thought Vomit Posts "Sync The Skies"

The metal punks from Thought Vomit are today streaming their new track "Sync the Skies." The song is taken from the upcoming full-length "Punk’s Brutal Retaliation/Sync The Skies," due out later this month.

The track itself is a grand one at almost 12 minutes long, but almost akin to a soundtrack-type presentation with different swells and dynamics. Again, the DIY production of the guys gives this a very live feel, calling to mind traces of early Cro-Mags and even The Accused at points, but with proper breakdowns and thrashing to satisfy. Devin Townsend Project Releases New Video

Devin Townsend Project dropped new album "Transcendence" last month (reviewed here), and the band is just finishing up a North American tour in support of the release.

Now the band is pleased to reveal an epic new video for track "Stormbending," which can be viewed at Vevo here. Townsend also comments on the video:

“Stormbending was a song that meant a lot to me while writing and when asked to do a video, I really pushed for it. I think the idea of it was based around turning the tide of your own perspectives on things.

"It's very easy to get caught up in the negativity and fear that kind of pervades most things lately, and finding ways to fight that away and keep a strong outlook on your own life can be challenging. It's really easy to give in to it all as opposed to consciously working to better your situation.

"The video was done by a team of fantastic people in Serbia, and although it's a challenge to be included in ones own videos, we decided to do one that was more performance based and I think it turned out really quite well. Thanks to everyone involved for making this happen and thanks to you for listening and supporting if you do :)” More...
