Lee McKinney, guitarist of Born Of Osiris, has issued the following statement in regards to the band's current stint in the recording studio.
"As for the new album, I should start by saying it’s WAY heavier than anything the band ever released. There is definitely nothing we’ve done that’s anywhere near this heavy. We have moved onto seven strings and it couldn’t have complimented our sound any better. We brought back the ‘BOO-bounce’ on this one. It’s definitely a really fun and upbeat album. We’ve also been writing this album for a long time.
"We had 16 to 18 songs going into the studio and we are going to be leaving with 12 songs that we feel are the strongest. We all live in a house together and that has really upped the creativity level. We go from on tour to living at home together, so we are all focusing on the band constantly. Also, the addition of our new guitar player Jason Richardson has increased the amount of shred on this album.
"There are some really incredible guitar solos on this album from the both of us. It takes the band to a whole new level of musicality. This album contains an awesome mix of our most heavy, most technical, most atmospheric and most beautiful melodies ever. No matter what album you’ve liked better of ours so far, this one tops both easily. We are producing this album at Bota Studio outside of Chicago, IL. Brandon Paddock (John Feldman’s engineer) will be taking up mixing duties on this one.
"As for the tour, this will be the last time we are going to be playing so much of The New Reign and A Higher Place. Starting next year we are going to be playing as much of this new album as we can. We will definitely be playing a new song live on this tour. We just wish we would have had the chance to release it to everyone before we start playing it every night. Aside from us, All That Remains is a great band and label mates Asking Alexandria will be joining us on the tour, so come on out and hang with us. It’s going to be a night to remember, we promise."
Canada's End is Near has issued the following statement about entering the recording studio to record a debut full-length album:

To my knowledge there are still copies to be obtained from a handful of distros/labels that we have been in touch with.
"This might lead to the question 'Will there be a re-release?' The thought has been brewing in our minds and we have considered to re-release it, but since we are not the most wealthiest people the possibility for us to print yet another patch of cd's is not looking that well. More...

Triptykon frontman and former leader of Celtic Frost and Hellhammer, Tom G. Warrior has checked in with another update from Triptykon's first tour of North America. His message reads as follows:
"On tour again in North America. In April of 2008, when I departed Celtic Frost and began to lay the foundation for Triptykon, this was but a mere intention, the fulfillment of which was anything but certain. The utter dedication of the audiences we are playing to here, their loyalty, and their feedback thus means even more to me that it ordinarily would.
"On October 10, in Montreal, I was finally able to witness an entire concert by our esteemed special guests on this tour, Yakuza. I had previously only seen a couple of songs or so each night. In my eyes, they are truly extraordinary, both on a personal level as well as musically. Their songs are full of emotions, variety, energy, beauty, and agitation. Their performance requires perhaps a tad more open-mindedness than must ordinarily be mustered, but they are one of the rare contemporary heavy rock acts with the courage to pursue their own, very unique path. Even that fact alone commands respect and makes them as perfect for a tour with Triptykon as they would have been in a pairing with Celtic Frost. We in Triptykon have all become fans.
"The combination of the three bands on this tour, 1349, Yakuza, and Triptykon, could not be any more unique and, in my humble (and biased) opinion, effective. It is a tour unlike any other."
German punk rock influenced metal band President Evil has announced a new vocalist, Neal. Here's the band's complete update:
"As you surely noticed it was very calm around President Evil in the last months. Apart from a very serious illness of one bandmember (everything is ok now) the search for a new vocalist was more difficult than thought before.
"Rehearsals were made without vocalist, various options had been tried and then there seemed to be the solution with Chris / Motorjesus. However, two bands, 300km distance and time problems took their toll and the attempt with Chris went wrong - unfortunately. The band's future was very critical!
"Again rehearsals without vocalist, new songs were written and then Neal came into the rehearsal room. After several attempts it was clear - Neal will be the new singer and we start all over again.
"Currently we work on new tracks, we commonly practice and we will announce the first confirmed gigs within the next days."
Here's a rehearsal video to give you an idea of the band's sound with Neal on vocals:
You can check out more of their previous material on the band's MySpace player.
