Boson Details Debut Release, Streams New Single

Minneapolis bred sludge-metal band Boson will release the debut full-length album "Domain of Ember" on November 3rd via Anxious & Angry Records. Today, the band has partnered with DecibelMagazine.com to premiere the album’s first new track, “Mass of the Phoenix,” which you can check out at this location, or simply follow the article down to its climax and explode to the new song in the player there.

Guitarist/Vocalist, Jim Adolphson talks about the new song: "This song was one of the last tracks that we worked on before entering into the studio and by far had some of the most intense energy when writing it. It took a few months to come to what became the final draft of “Mass of the Phoenix” because we kept running into roadblocks in matching the vibe of the main riff. Once the final version came to be, it seemed like the lyrical content just kind of presented itself in a weird way to me. I have always been pulled in by occultism, especially occult rituals that required death and mutilation.

"I was reading 'The Book of Lies' at the time and came across this ritual that involved the participant eating what was called 'The Cake of Light.' The cake included bodily fluids and required the participant to cut their chest and use their own blood as one of the ingredients. From a lyrical standpoint, I used the ritual as sort of a meditation of releasing negative emotions in the darkest and most vile way possible. This particular ritual seemed to be the most appropriate vessel. More...

Inspired by Iron Maiden, Metallica, Motorhead, Dissection and Slayer, WarCall’s music is fast, aggressive, melodic and dramatic. Unleashing three well-received albums under its bullet-belt ("Demonarchy," "Blood, Guts and Dirt," and "III"), this Montreal, QC power-trio's fourth assault "Invaders" hits the mosh pit on October 13th via Plan B Music.

Featuring 10 tracks, the album is concept release based on humans fighting back an alien invasion with a message of fighting oppression, resisting, reconquering, but without knowing if it is really over.

Teaming up with Decibel Magazine, WarCall premiered the album's full stream over here. However, why go? You can just check it out right below in the player provided.

Vocalist/guitarists Mathieu Simard comments: "Everybody who has followed WarCall since our beginnings will be extremely satisfied with 'Invaders'. It is our best sound, best production, best song writing and best musical performances. The new album is a return to the style on the first two albums. Lucifer's Hammer Set To Declare "Victory Is Mine"

Shadow Kingdom Records is proud to present Lucifer's Hammer's brand new EP "Victory is Mine" on December 15th.

Aptly titled, "Victory is Mine" follows soon after the widespread critical acclaim afforded last year's "Beyond the Omens" debut full-length, further proving that this Chilean heavy metal force simply cannot be stopped! But here, on "Victory is Mine," Lucifer's Hammer shows more sides to the enviable arsenal and go down a darker path.

Where "Beyond the Omens" burst forth with a brightness that could've come from radio metal circa 1984, "Victory is Mine" explodes with an immediacy that's moodier and more epic. Still well within the realm of classic, post-NWoBHM heavy metal, here Lucifer's Hammer delivers four winding epics that alternately pulse with steely passion and drift like lingering fog.

The track listing is:

1. The Valley of the Shadow of Death
2. Thousand Nights (O.O.T.S.)
3. Warriors of the Storm
4. The Destroyer More...

Infected Dead Set To Unleash "Archaic Malevolence"

From the rotten shores of the River Medway in Kent, Infected Dead has emerged to reveal details of the debut record "Archaic Malevolence," which set for release December 8th via Hostile Media.

Six tracks of visceral death metal, brutal, catchy, influenced by subgenre leaders Aborted and The Black Dahlia Murder, as well as a love of the occult and Lovecraftian cosmic horror. The 5-piece has honed a razor-sharp sound, underlined by a trademark breakneck speed and intense live shows, which has been quickly turning heads in the U.K. underground. Pre-orders are available at this location.

Guitarist Alex Brown comments, “We are delighted to announce our union with Hostile Media for the release of our first offering. This year has been great for us and we’d like to thank them for their faith in what we do and for helping us step up to the next level. From the start of the writing process for 'Archaic Malevolence' it was always our intention to push ourselves. We wanted to enter uncharted territory and push the boundaries of what we could do technically and creatively. Inspired by modern day juggernauts such as Aborted, The Faceless, Nile and countless others we feel this release is the perfect balance of unrestrained brutality, infectious hooks and sinister melody from the grandiose title track to the crushing weight of ‘Invocation Of Unspeakable Gods’ this release was designed to grab you.” More...

Asphodelos Signs With Black Sunset For Debut Album

Thuringian death metal act Asphodelos signed with Black Sunset Records and will release the debut full length album this fall.

Originating in 2010 from its predecessor band Hatred Within, the quintet has dedicated itself to classical death metal with a Scandinavian touch. In 2010, the band issued its debut EP "And Death Shall Reign..." followed up by a second EP in 2013 entitled "To the Grounds of Everwhite." With the long-awaited, yet still untitled, debut album, the guys plan to show that they are ready to take the next step.

Musically, you can expected a lot of hammering riffs and a steamroller-like pace, in which the thematic spectrum of the abysses of the human soul and a characteristic impact of Greek mythology with a touch of melancholy litters the lyrical landscape.

More information is expected soon. A preview clip for the new record can be heard in the player here: More...
