"We are very pleased with the outcome of our new album, 'Ancestral Romance'. We have been working for months on this new work and recording with our usual producer, Luigi Stefanini, has been the culmination of all that effort.
"This new album is explores deeper and gets further in our own style, which became more consolidated in our last releases. In this way, the whole orchestra and choir work has been developed and is in perfect symbiosis with rock instruments. As a result the album has passages of great drama and all the expressiveness we wanted to start the work with.
"The theme of 'Ancestral Romance' revolves around Spain's culture and history, as is well established in pieces like 'Oh, Wretched Me!', based on the 'Life Is A Dream' by Calderon de la Barca , 'Tilt At Windmills' based on Don Quixote, 'Mio Cid' inspired by the legend of the Spanish hero El Cid, 'Alaric de Marnac', an adaptation of Paul Naschy's latest book of the same title, 'Love From Stone' which tells of the legend of the lovers of Teruel, 'Gadir' inspired by the first city founded in Europe: Cádiz, or 'Ritual Fire Dance', adaptation of 'Danza del Fuego' by Manuel de Falla, Spanish composer.
"All lyrics have been written by the Spanish poet Francisco José García, our usual collaborator. Thanks to his great work, Alfred was able to connect very well with the spirit of each song and do a great job of interpretation, emphasizing and increasing his natural baritone timbre. This album also features Dark Moor's first song in Spanish, 'La Canción del Pirata', where the band has put music to the famous poem by Espronceda."

Tickets sold out in only thirty minutes for the legendary German band RAMMSTEIN‘s December 11th performance at the world’s most famous arena, Madison Square Garden in New York City. This will be the only US show by the Berlin-based six-piece band, who have not performed in the United States since 2001. The show was announced September 27th, tickets went on sale for the show Friday, October 8th at Noon Eastern and before an hour passed, tickets were officially sold out. This makes RAMMSTEIN the first German band in history to accomplish such a feat.
The band’s appearance at the Quebec City Summer Festival in July 2010 already lured thousands of US fans to cross the border into Canada and since last fall, RAMMSTEIN’s formidable live show traversed Europe in twenty 18-wheelers packed with pyrotechnics, flame-throwers, bazookas and enough ordnance to level a small country.
The band’s most recent album, Liebe ist für alle da (“Love is there for all”), was released in November 2009 and hit #1 on many charts across Europe, and entered on the Billboard Charts at #13 – the highest chart entry for Rammstein in the United States ever – and boosted their worldwide catalog to over 16 million albums sold.

Vocalist Jesse Barnett of STICK TO YOUR GUNS has issued the following update from the road:
“The positive reactions each and every night of this tour have blown away any expectations we had regarding the turn outs at the shows, and our band in general. The kids that have made it out to the shows have given us everything they have, which has made these dates so memorable already. We are looking forward to the remainder of the tour and hope that we will be fortunate enough to have everyone continue to give us their best.”
“The Hope Division is more than a new record. Every day our world is defeated by carelessness, ignorance, and selfishness. We can't look away from our television set that allows us all to look into the problems facing the world as a whole, yet we are still just looking. Our leaders wage war on things like drugs, terror, and poverty, yet they fail to see that these are all products of a pre-existing condition. The problem starts with the heart and magnifies into injustice from there. People all over the world suffer as a result. These songs are their stories. When the world around us crumbles, provide the hope needed to rebuild.”

We've been talking to bands and fans everywhere to get their favorite mosh pit stories. This week Ben Falgoust of Goatwhore discusses small bars and "The Four Corners of the Apocalypse." (That is not a Goatwhore song title.):
Here's a transcription of that video segment:
Ben Falgoust: “We’ve had some pretty rowdy pits, you know. A recent one, we played Wisconsin and it got pretty rowdy. It wasn’t crazy…well, the pit was sort of crazy. But the people at the front seemed even more crazy and they were just throwing alcohol all night. Basically, the whole stage, it’s the stage and then monitors, it was just liquor all on it. Beer, drinks, everything. Even to, we have points where we played this place that’s up near Albany, New York, a place called Popeye’s Pub. It’s a small little place. It’s the smallest place you can imagine seeing a band. This place is small. But the show was fun. Actually, the stage was bigger than the floor space the people were on. And the back wall of that was about to give way into this yard. So at any given moment these people could have been shoved if the whole back wall fell out. But in this little tight area, it just broke out on the floor and it was so crazy cause the area was so fucking small and these people were like…It was like all the sudden you step two feet, and turned around, and someone was plowing into you. It was almost like you didn’t have time to maneuver what you wanted to do on the floor. So that was great too. And sometimes when we get a really good rowdy crowd, we do this called the Four Corners of the Apocalypse. They have this big thing called the Wall of Death where two lines come and they clash. We took it a step further and made it the four corners of the room, and everybody goes toward the center and just…it’s chaos.
Buick: I bet that makes a great noise.
Ben: Yeah, bones cracking and things like that. It’s always pretty exciting. Um, let’s see. Anything else fairly exciting? Every show is a different experience, you know? So after this I’ll think of something. I’ll say, “Oh, damn! That situation was fucking crazy.” Yeah, there’s a lot of different ones, man. We’ve played from big places to small places, but I really like the aggression of the small places because you’re locked into so much area. So when it breaks out, there’s nowhere to really go. It’s like you’re trapped, so everybody in that area is sucked into it and has to partake in it unless they just leave the room because the area is so small. But then again the big places, if the whole place is ready to roll and do something crazy and you can ignite them to go off, that’s pretty fucking intense as well. Like an entire floor.
Don't miss the show report from Goatwhore's return to New Orleans.
Check back every Tuesday for more pit stories.
Tim Lambesis, lead vocalist of the popular San Diego, California metal band As I Lay Dying has formed a new clothing company called Modern Rebellion. The company has launched an official website and merch store through 3rd Degree Merch.
The mission of the clothing line is to spread a positive message of charity and to often put one’s personal needs second to those of others. With that mindset Modern Rebellion will be giving profits to Trees Of Glory, a non-profit dedicated to providing clean water for Children in Duber, Ethiopia.
"For many of us growing up, rebellion was a way to fight against what we felt were pointless and oppressive rules. Times have changed. Today we often submit to popular thinking without notice and believe that our greatest purpose is to serve ourselves. The truest form of rebellion left is to reject this mindset and live for something more.
"That is why I have partnered in starting Modern Rebellion. What I profit from this endeavor goes to support orphanages that I have personally visited and benefits a group of people much more deserving than myself. Beyond that, I think the apparel and designs themselves create a style that well represents my personal taste."
Norwegian doom metal band Syrach has announced the departure of their drummer Adam Suleiman.
The band issues the following message on his departure, "A couple of days ago, we got an e-mail from our drummer Adam telling us he is leaving us. We have been seeing this coming for some time, since he's only been in Bergen twice in one year for rehearsals. Fair enough, since he got a great job in Oslo he have our understanding and the best of luck in the future. Hopefully he will not quit drumming, as he is FAR too good to leave his sticks on the shelf, especially since he is only 25 years old...(joke!)"
"We have had several great years together with Adam, and a lot of fun. He have taught us about time travels and solved many math mysteries for us."
