"Wow! It looks like 2011 will be a great year for us! We already have a lot of shows confirmed and there will be more to follow. First we'll play a show in January together with our good friends Archaic Averno. It's been a while since we've had our last gig with them so we're looking forward to share the stage again.

"In February we team up with Lunarsphere and New World Depression to play three shows in Germany. Both Lunarsphere and New World Depression have become good friends of ours and we're very thankful for the opportunity they give us to play in Germany. The first show of that mini-tour will be in Neuenkirchen, a village close to Emsdetten where we played last December. We had a great time over there and we hope to see all those true metalpeople again! The next day we move on to Hamburg to play at the Bambi Galore. The last day of the mini-tour we'll play a show on a boat on the Weser river in Bremen.

"In April we'll support Bitch (US) and Anger As Art (US) on their tour in Holland. Three dates are already confirmed and some more will follow. We also have set one date in Oktober. We play at the Metal Against Child Cancer festival in Belgium.

"Besides all the gigs we're still working very hard on our next album. The songs are getting shape more and more and we hope to release an album which surpasses our debut album In blood And Heart. The album will be released by Deity Down Records again and for now it looks like the release date will be set somewhere at the end of the year."

Sunday Old School: Apollyon Sun

Often in the world of music, the most respected performers were the ones who were willing to take risks, whether they payed off or not. Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford will always be known as the Metal God, despite the negative reaction to his band, 2wo, John Lennon will forever be regarded as one of the finest songwriters of the 20th century, despite mind crushingly abysmal, "Two Virgins" album and Tom Fischer (aka Tom G. Warrior) is considered by thousands of metal fans to be one of the most artistic composers in the genre, regardless of Celtic Frost's, "Cold Lake" record. However, "Cold Lake" wasn't the only risk Fischer released throughout his career, following the first dissolution of Celtic Frost, he formed a new band named Apollyon Sun, which was named after the album Celtic Frost were working on before they broke up. The band differed from Celtic Frost greatly in that it was strongly influenced by electronic music, resulting in a sound which was as much trip hop as it was metal.

Following the recording of their debut EP, "Industry Demonstration," the group were noticed by Sanctuary Management and began a working relationship with Rod Smallwood, who is best known as the longtime manager of Iron Maiden and before long were signed to Mayan Records. Through the label, the band released another EP entitled, "God Leaves (And Dies)" which caught the attention of British television executives, resulting in the songs, "God Leaves" and "Relinquished Body" being used in the BBC show, "City Central." Apollyon Sun then began work on their first full length album, for which they worked with producer Roli Mosiman, who had previously produced a variety of artists from Faith No More to Bjork. It took two years but finally, in the year 2000, the group's debut album, "Sub" was released. The release of the album allowed the band to begin touring internationally and were considered by many to be the stand out performance at that year's Kerrang Awards in London.

"Sub" was by no means a commercial success but was well received by critics and fans alike. Apollyon Sun continued to work with the BBC after this, contributing more music to be used in television shows, as well as Fischer and guitarist Erol Unala taking part in Probot, the metal super album put together by Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl. Following these collaborations and contributions, the band began work on a new album, "Flesh," for which a number of songs were written and recorded, including a cover of the Celtic Frost classic, "Procreation Of The Wicked," but the album was never finished owing to the reformation of Celtic Frost. Once Frost reunited, Fischer invited Unala to become the band's new second guitarist, effectively ending Apollyon Sun. Since then, Celtic Frost have once again parted ways, with Fischer forming a completely new band called Triptykon instead, and has gone on record to say he has no intention of making music under the Apollyon Sun banner again. Although the band are largely forgotten by many metal fans and are overshadowed by the legacies of Celtic Frost and Hellhammer, they are a key part in the history of Fischer's career, music and artistic growth and a band which deserves alot more recognition than they receive. Times Of Grace Vocalist Comments On Leaked Album

Times of Grace frontman Jesse Leach has posted the following statement online in regards to the band's debut album, "The Hymn Of A Broken Man," being leaked online, two weeks prior to its release:

"So the inevitable has happened, the record of my career has been put out there without consideration for all of the hard work and promotion.

"I know this is the day and age we live in and this happens to everyone now. I still don't feel it is right regardless of the reasoning. To me, it is like if I were a painter and I worked for four years on a painting. Every single brush stroke was painstakingly conceived, every tone and texture worked and reworked until it was just right. I would sit for hours in my studio sipping on a drink and thinking: Is this good? Is it just right? I would go out and live my life outside of the studio and any chance I got I would go back and just stare at it making sure it was exactly how I wanted it. Then, after reworking it a dozen times, I put it under a tarp and spent months planning the revealing of it at my gallery opening. Then, one night, some clever fellow broke into my studio ripped of the tarp and took a quick Polaroid photo of the painting. This art thief then published the photo in a local magazine, so the painting is now a photo of a photo.

"I know what some of you are thinking, 'Dude, get over it. This happens all of the time,' and I know it does, but I am not going to front and pretend 'it is all good.' The least I can do is say something, so that's what I am doing. There is nothing I can physically do, so this is it.

"Don't get me wrong, folks — I am still excited for January 18th! I have been waiting a long time for this and no lo-fi Polaroid shoddy leak is going to take that away from me. I am confident you good people will still support us.

"For all those who already bought the record, many, many heartfelt thanks to you all your support has gotten me out of my day job and in preparation for the road once again! I get to have a second shot at making a living off of my music! To me, this is incredible and I count my blessings every day!

"All of your messages, comments and promotion is awesome. All of you give me hope and gracious words every day. Thanks for giving a damn about me and my art.

"I feel I do have a purpose with my music and it has nothing to do with fame and fortune. Just getting simple honest recognition and respect means a great deal to me.

"So again thank you all for your support and every time I see a comment pleading with people to buy the record regardless, it makes me smile.

"Well, off to train and get my but into shape for the upcoming tour! Cue the 'Rocky IV' training montage music... going for a run out in the snow!"
