Female-fronted prog act To-Mera has issued the following announcement about recording a new album:
"Well, it's been a long time coming, but we can finally announce that we will hit the studio to begin recording our new album on January 21st. Watch this space for video updates. If you have a Youtube user account, subscribe to us at this location.
"We'd like to thank each and every one of you for your patience and for sticking with us through the highs and lows over the years. It's been a long, occasionally painful and definitely emotional, road to reach this point, but we can assure you that this album is going to be 'THE ONE' you've been waiting for ;)
"Oh, and Happy New Year, by the way."
Buffalo NY's Polygraphist has posted the band's entire "Nighterror" album online for streaming and free download. You can check out the release through the player below, or download all the tracks for free by clicking here.
Norwegian prog metal act Leprous has checked in with the following new tour blog:
"Allright. Two days off before our show in Saarbrücken. New city, lots of time…everything could happen, right!? Well, everything didn't happen. Actually, most of our time in Saarbrücken was spent relaxing in the hotel room.
"Day 1. The first day we only got out of our rooms to get some food late in the evening. Probably sounds boring, but being the 1. Jan, the city was basically closed anyway. Nevertheless we found a really, really good Italian place to eat. It was one of those places where they make your food right in front of you when you make the order. Cool place! Not much else to write about the first day in Saarbrücken I'm afraid. After our meal we went back to the hotel for the rest of the night.
"Day 2. Most of us hadn't been to Luxemburg before, and being just about an hour away from Saarbrücken by bus, we decided to go check it out. So we did. Turned out it was just an ordinary european city (not that we expected anything else). We spent some hours walking around, eating, and complaining about the weather. So nothing special about the place, except the cool valley in the middle of the city, but now we have been there. After the bus trip back to Saarbrücken, and a couple of hours in the hotel, we ended up eating at the same place as the day before. Talk about being creative! I even ate the same thing as I did the day before…still really, really good food!
"Day 3. - Showtime. We got up a little late for the check-out at the hotel (as usual). And decided to go the venue right away. The place was within walking distance, so we packed our bags and set out. Not much more interesting to tell about before the show, but the venue was cool, and the show was fun." More...
Norway's Ribozyme has announced the band's new album will be titled "Presenting the Problem," and the release will have the following track listing:
1. Presenting the Problem
2. Lending a Fever
4. Over The Galvanized
6. Downside Advantage
7. Scale of Values
9. Paid in Graves
10. The Bricks Went Flying
"Presenting the Problem" will see release via Indie Recordings on February 10th in Europe and February 14th in North America. The label commented on the release:
"A continuous effort to evolve and congeal true identity has led Ribozyme to be compared to numerous giants of their genre; from Tool to Filter, from Nine Inch Nails to Sigur Rôs, although the distance to the above has never been greater. Ribozyme is truly a nation of its own, as evident by their fifth album: Presenting the Problem.
"Presenting the Problem is a modern rock/metal crossover featuring top of the line songwriting, all in a massive sonic experience, featuring guest appearances by world-renowned artists like Jørgen Munkeby of Shining and Fredrik Saroea of Datarock, in a 40 minute long standard-defining example of explosive intensity and musical macro vision with surgical precision." Poland's J.D. Overdrive, cancelled several live shows toward the end of last year due to the band's guitarist suffering an injury. The group has now checked in with the following update about activity in the new year:
"Ahoy! New Year has begun so we'd like to wish all of you (and ourselves for that matter) all the best! Unfortunately we start off with a rather unpleasant piece of info. As of 2012 our manager Andrzej Cedzynski will no longer be working with our band. Andrzej, thanks for all the time and effort you put into JDO, may our paths cross again many times in future. We hope to find a worthy replacement soon.
"Jah bless! Funny story – we're kinda one of the candidates for NetFan.pl's Artist of the Year award. And yup, we would very much like to win this. But we can't do it alone (believe us, we tried) and need YOUR help! You can vote for our merry bunch at this location. And guess what, you can vote every day, so be sure to do that ;)"
You can also check out J.D. Overdrive's music via the band's MySpace music profile here.

Sweden's Feral has issued the following 2011 recap and announcement about working on new material:
"For those wondering what Feral have been up to during the second half of 2011 and what our plans for 2012 are.
"After returning from the very successful tour with Demonical, Arroganz and Gloria Morti and playing a killer show at Trästockfestivalen in Skellefteå last summer we have started to polish on our new material.
"A couple of pre-production recordings have been made and have given us a chance to get the feel of what the new material brings to the table, so far we can tell you that this is some of the most intense and groove-ridden death metal we have ever conjured. At this date we have recorded six tracks and our vault is far from empty, stretching from ominously slow, blistering fast and everything in between this is as well some of our most varied and dynamic songs yet.
"We cannot tell when any new recordings will be revealed, but the new material has slowly started to make it's way into our live-set. Which is a great way for us to try the songs out.
"We are searching for labels interested in handling our future releases and as always we are looking for gigs where ever possible in order to spread the putrid gospel of death."
