Imagika posted a brief statement online indicating the band was breaking up back in October, but later removed the message and appeared to be moving forward. Lead guitarist/songwriter Steve Rice has now issued the following statement about the band officially calling it quits:
"All things must come to an end and for Imagika the time is now. After 17 years, 7 worldwide releases, 2 vocalist, 5 guitarist, 3 bassist, 2 drummers, countless performances and tour dates I’ve decided to put the band to rest. The reasons are many, but the truth is that it’s time for something new and to move forward without being bound to the past. I’m not mourning the end because I’m grateful the band lasted as long as it did. I look forward to building upon the music and legacy of a band I spearheaded for close to 2 decades with my new project.
"I would personally like to thank all the fans, press, labels, booking agents, promoters, venues, studios, engineers, artist, instrument manufactures and everyone else that had a helping hand in Imagika’s career. It could not have happened without you! I will personally still handle and oversea everything Imagika post mortem for the foreseeable future.
"Moving forward, drummer Wayne Devecchi, former Eldritch guitarist Roberto Proietti and I have formed a new Metal/ Thrash project that will take our collective musical ideas to the next level. Fans of our past bands music will not be disappointed as we’ve put together some great catchy material that is melodic, complex and heavy. A five song instrumental demo has already been recorded and we are presently seeking a Pro Vocalist and Bassists to complete the project. Interested parties can contact us at email@example.com Please have reviewable audio or video media."
Bodies in Barbwire has checked in with the following update about writing new material for an upcoming release:
"Yes its that time! I've began to write new material for Bodies in Barbwire! Some bands will write a ton of stuff in a very short period of time which is very admirable, but just isn't BiB's style. I try to piece my recording time over periods so BiB keeps that edge to the music and not fade itself, kinda like Tool for instance with time between albums.
"Right now I have tracked guitars for a new song and the guitars are complete for that song. I will be working on lyrics and drums next. So far I have 10 song titles that are very comforting to those who enjoy sheer violence and Brutality to extreme lengths and the lyrics will be no different. Just straight gore! I will be posting the complete lyrics for my currently released tracks on BiB's Official Website to give you an idea of the content, detail, complexity, and things that I happily write about for BiB.
"As progress continues, I will keep you updated min to min on the Official Website and BiB's Facebook! Check out the sites and feel free to get at me anytime! Thank You to ALL of my supporters, Bands and Bros alike! It doesn't go unappreciated! Many Hails!"
After eighteen years of marriage Sebastian Bach (ex-Skid Row) and his wife are getting a divorce. Not shocking considering the two have been separated since April, but the real question: what are the odds Bach left a red wine stain on the divorce papers? Fifty percent? Eighty percent?... More...
Unveil The Strength guitarist Dave Delacruz, formerly of Silent Civilian, has posted the following update online:
"[Unveil The Strength] is something that I have been working on with my best friends for quite some time and now we are officially taking it from the studio to the stage!
"In regards to Silent Civilian, I personally made the decision to leave the band because I did not agree with how things were being ran by individuals involved. I wish them the best of luck and success on all of their endeavors but that band wasn't for me anymore.
"Creating music has always been a passion of mine and now I am able to create music with best friends the right way where there is no room for ego.

"They have been called a combination of the 'time signatures in the noise tech vein of the new Dillinger Escape Plan, with the subtlety of Neurosis coupled with the extreme controlled aggression of Slipknot.' Others cited “'Sepultura’s raw heaviness, Meshuggah’s technical prowess, and Strapping Young Lad’s ornate song structuring.' Despite the schizophrenic descriptions, the reviews have been overwhelming. The spring of 2011 will see the release of their fourth album and Insense will demonstrate how innovative metal should sound in 2011."

God Dethroned is a death metal act that is just as impressive at being brutal as it is at being melodic. The band's popularity soared after 2009’s “Passiondale.” It was a hard-hitting spectacle that was based around one of the most important wars in history, World War I. The band returned to that concept with it's latest scorcher, “Under the Sign of the Iron Cross.” Released a year after “Passiondale,” there is no signs of the band rehashing old material or traversing previously-soiled musical ground.
Metalunderground.com had the opportunity to conduct an e-mail interview with vocalist/guitarist Henri Sattler about the World War I concept on the past two albums, the line-up changes, and his thoughts on the band’s first few under-appreciated albums. More...
Motorhead and Loudtrax.com are giving away over $750 in prizes for their latest contest featuring you cooking Lemmy's “Krakatoa Surprise” recipe out of Steve Seabury's heavy metal cook book "Mosh Potatoes."
The idea for the contest came about when author Steve Seabury and LoudTrax.com founder Antonio Marsillo were hanging out in Times Square, smoking a couple of Cuban cigars. Steve handed Antonio a copy of the book and they were making jokes about the many recipes. Many beers later, the idea to dare metal heads around the world to cook up Lemmy's recipe was born.
Lemmy himself liked the idea so much, he offered up an autographed, framed photograph and as well as a signed CD. In addition to Lemmy’s prizes, the winner of this contest receives a boat load of prizes including Lemmy shirts, Harley-Davidson (R) boots, and more. Participants must send a video of them cooking up this monster, upload it to YouTube and then submit it on the Lemmy Contest section of LoudTrax.com.
Check out the video below and get the full details here.
