Compressorhead, the world's first all 'heavy metal' band made with robotics, has posted a practice version of its cover of "Ace of Spades" during band practice at the Robocross headquarters in Berlin. In the band's biography, this is how they are described:
"Did you ever wonder what Danny Carey would sound like if he had 4 arms? How about if Angus Young had 78 fingers? Imagine what Robert Trujillo would sound like if he was actually made of metal? Well, wonder no more, meatbags. Compressorhead is the worlds heaviest metal band."
"Stickboy (drums) was created to exacting specifications. 4 arms, 2 legs, 1 head, no brain. He plays a Pearl 14 piece kit with double kick. Stickboy Junior, the bastard child of an unknown mother, takes control of the hihat shuffle. Inception date 2007. Fingers (guitar) joined Stickboy in 2009 and brings 78 purpose built fingers, enough to play the entire fret board and pluck. Bones (bass) is the highest precision bass player in known existence, and the youngest member of the band. Inception date 2012. Stand aside meatbags. Oil is thicker than blood."
Germany's December Flower has checked in with the following announcement about parting ways with guitarist Michael Tybussek:
"Bad news at the end of the year. Michael has unfortunately decided to leave the band. Because of that we are also forced to cancel our performance at the release party of our friends from Fragments Of Unbecoming. We're very sorry for all those who have been looking forward to that, but nevertheless it will surely become a night to remember.
"We are therefore looking for a dedicated guitarist who can bring himself into songwriting and is anything but a beginner. What else do you need to bring? You should more than just identify with our style and be able to put the necessary passion into the band.
"Preferably you should come from the Ruhr Area / Germany. Furthermore you should be flexible and motivated to play live gigs. Are you interested? Send an email to email@example.com or contact us on Facebook here. Nevertheless we wish everybody all the best for the new year. Thanks for your support."

Razorback Recordings has issued the following announcement about an upcoming release from Ohio act FaithXtractor:
"Razorback Recordings is proud to be releasing the 2nd full-length album from FaithXtractor! They recorded one of the best debut death metal albums in 2008, and have now returned with their long-awaited 2nd album. We are thrilled to be releasing this masterpiece!"
Here are some words from the band itself: "FaithXtractor was spawned by Ash Thomas with the sole intention of playing savage Death Metal as an assault on the pathetic meat puppet human race. Now, nearly 7 years later, with the "old school death metal" tag being consumed, shat out, & spewed about repeatedly like every other tired labeling scheme, the FaithXtractor would like to tell you to 'CAST YOUR ASSUMPTIONS ASIDE...SHUT THE FUCK UP & HEAD BANG!' This musical entity was created as an outlet to voice thoughts & feelings on this ever crumbling existence, to channel our life-philosophy, & to praise the Metal essence that is inherently in our veins. Plain & simple...
"This new 11 song monster holds true to the vibe set forth on the previous releases while plunging ever further into heavily darkened territory. With a strong focus on real life horrors, infectious riffs, & haunting arrangements, 'The Great Shadow Infiltrator' will crush the weak as the FaithXtractor poisons the soul for the better. 'The Great Shadow Infiltrator' will be released in 2013 through the Cult Horror Label Razorback Recordings."
Further details on the release will be announced soon.

In 2012, Hellbastard are now very much back in action, tighter, more powerful and still as bitter and pissed off as they were from the start. Hellbastard bring socially aware lyrics and an unclassifiable form of punk/thrash metal music to the international stage." More...

Swiss melodic death metal act Dreamshade posted a preview of the upcoming music video for the track "Consumed Future." The song will appear on the band's sophomore effort entitled "Gift of Life," which is scheduled for release on January 25, 2013 through Spinefarm Records.
Vocalist Kevin commented on the song: ""Consumed Future is about the bullshit we see in TV everyday and how it may condition the life of some people, even taking them to desperation. The idea came to my mind one day while sitting on my sofa and zapping. Switching from a channel to the other, I was disgusted of what I heard and saw. Too many dirtbag-programs with no sense, pathetic reality shows, and so much advertising. I found it all so disrespectful! Just a constant load of fake shit thrown in people's face!
"TV has lost his entertainment and amusement side it used to have in the old days and seems to have become an instrument used to wash the brain of the weak ones. In the video we can see a girl addicted to this "world", slave of these TV shows leading her to live a life which, day after day further from reality, is not her own anymore. This is the main message of the song: Be yourself and never try to be somebody else!"
The track listing for "Gift of Life" is as follows:

Sometimes this reminds you a bit of PRIEST’s “Painkiller”. The straight songs (track 4 & 6) are probably the ones that are ideal for metal-heads: concise riffs, a tight grooving rhythm and a simply structured but effective songwriting."
The track listing for "Regeneration" is as follows:
1. Cyber Laser
4. Magic Circle
5. Wings of the Abyss
6. Metal Maniac
7. Love is unfair
