Italian technical death metal band Natron has postponed the January 13, 2012 Pre-release party at the Target Club in Bari, Italy for two weeks and will now be held on January 27, 2012. The cause for the postponement was that the printing of the band's new LP "Grindermeister" by Southern Brigade Records was delayed and would not be available for fans at the show.
"Grindermesiter" is the band's sixth LP and the first since the 2009 release "Rot Among Us." The album is not scheduled for official release until March of 2012.

"After 10 years and 5 releases, Little Rock, AR-based American Christian death metal band Soul Embraced parted ways amicably with Solid State Records. Rottweiler Records is to release their new record "Mythos" next year.
"Soul Embraced is comprised of band members Chad Moore - Lead Vocals, Ed Collins - Guitar, Jeff Bowie - Bass Guitar, and Rocky Gray (also of Living Sacrifice, Ex-Evanesence, We Are The Fallen, and Machina) - Drums
"This particular Soul Embraced release sees the band in 100% artistic control over art, music, and production. Rocky Gray has stated that "Mythos" WILL BE Soul Embraced's MOST BRUTAL ALBUM YET!!
"Rottweiler Records is excited to be a part of this monumental project and is excited to be able to have you, the fans, be such an integral part of this becoming a reality! We hope we've been able to offer some nice incentives for helping this thing out!
"Thanx a million!!"

Macabre has revealed through it's Facebook page that the Army of Darkness Tour 2012 with Massacre and Master has been cancelled. Band members and legal representatives for the groups have stated that the agent never got back to the bands regarding contracts and deposits, which put all parties at unease. Massacre still hopes to go over to Europe in the summertime to play a few shows that will not conflict with Terry Butler's Obituary schedule. Master issued the following statement on it's Facebook page: "I am sorry to say that the Massacre, Macabre and Master tour is cancelled. A big apology goes out for sure to all the fans and promoters, but unfortunately in today's world of business it is hard to find a reputable booking agent and the days are gone to take such risks with guys like Marcus Schreiber. After 10 days of no answers, contracts or final confirmation of the dates we are forced to cancel the tour." - (Paul Speckmann and Master) Rick Rozz DeLillo (Massacre) had the following succinct thing to say: "We saved ourselves a 100% nightmare, and the year has just begun." U.S. act I Am Heresy has posted a two song demo online, which can be streamed or downloaded through the player below. The band also commented on its history:
"What happens when your band falls apart and everything you worked toward is abruptly thrown away? You start a new one! That is exactly what Nathan Gray (Boysetsfire, Casting Out) decided to do once his last musical effort The Casting Out ceased to exist. Not one to sit around and cry about the situation, he decided to move forward and form something completely new.
"He didn't have to look far though, realizing that his son Simon Gray and fellow band mate Jonah Latshaw (May 4th Massacre) both were very talented musicians in their own right, he recruited them to start a new band. Going back to the roots of what made Boysetsfire such a powerful force in the punk/hardcore scene, mixed in with the younger metal influence of Simon and Jonah..... I AM HERESY was formed.
"To help complete the band and take it to the next level, brothers Jay and Crumbs Konieko (The Dead and Gone) were added on Bass and Drums respectively. The last piece to the puzzle to help reinforce such and imposing sound was former (Chambers) guitarist Gregg Kautz. As a whole each band member brings their own unique musical style to form an imposing wall of sound that has and will continue to grow and evolve. I AM HERESY." More...

Besides drumming for Obituary, Donald Tardy has other interests of a more altruistic nature. He and his wife Heather established the "Metal Meowlisha" as a way of aiding over 130 feral cats a day. Metal Meowlisha has the following mission statement, and you may go to it's website to learn more.
"Donald and Heather are committed to caring for feral cats in more than 20 spots or ‘colonies’ each day, 365 days a year. This also involves continually practicing Trap-Neuter-Return and using spay/neuter to control the population of free roaming cats in our area. The ASPCA endorses Trap-Neuter-Return as the ONLY Humane and Effective manner of managing free roaming cat populations, and so do we! In caring for so many cats on the streets, we find many abandoned cats, especially in the current economy and college area that we are working in. Often they are in need of health care, some need extensive treatment. The MM works with our vet and local clinics to the sick and injured cats we find, and networks with the wonderful rescues and shelters in our city to help find homes for friendly, adoptable cats and kittens. We strive to provide medical care as needed to sick or injured feral cats so they can be returned to their outdoor homes to live happily and comfortably. The MM embraces a no-kill ideology and strives to treat sick and injured cats without euthanizing cats based on financial considerations or testing positive for infectious diseases. We also believe that any cat or kitten whose life will be impacted by the results of a "positive" test deserves to be retested as these results are not always correct the first time, and sometimes with time a cat will clear the antibodies or virus. They don't euthanize MLB players for testing positive! We believe all cats deserve a second chance as much as it is possible, keeping the cats quality of life & prognosis of course in primary consideration."

"To promote the release, we decided to live stream a short set we played at the Belly of the Whale studio in Gothenburg. It was a very cool event and nothing any of us had ever done before. It turned out to be more successful than we’d ever thought it could be. Hopefully we will be able to release this live recording in some way during 2012.
"We also played a lot of cool shows during the year, including a mini-tour in Germany. We ended the year by playing at the Scorched Tundra Festival at Sticky Fingers in Gothenburg together with As You Drown, Zombiekrig, Marionette and Eldrimner. It was a great night and a lot of people attended this newborn festival.
"During the second part of 2011 we started to work on the next big project, which will be our first full length album. It culminated in a trip to a cottage in the woods, where we isolated ourselves for a week to work more intensely on the album. The recording of this album are planned for April/May, and so far it looks very promising.
"We know that this year will be even more productive and intense for Age of Woe. For starters, we have a European tour coming up in April and even more shows to be confirmed during the first part of 2012. We are also working on some other cool stuff that we hope can be revealed soon, so stay alert and keep your eyes open."

"The transfiguration is of radical nature while preserving, actually enhancing, the original spirit. It is something to experience and not to describe but let's make a vain attempt and write that it's Janus like, as ancient as it is contemporary, as TRADITIONAL as it is groundbreaking. In other words, Black Metal in all its glory."
