Vastator's vocalist Rob 'Senor' Diaz has revealed the new track "Midnight Train" from his new collaborative band Diaz Pilnik Meridian. Diaz started this namesake band with guitarist Richard Pilnik (ex Entrance, Australis), bassist Jaime Ahumada (Cygnus) and drummer Eduardo Lascar (ex Panzer - Bismarck), all from the Chilean scene. The four track EP will be titled "Meridian" and released in March on Digmetalworld, three of the tracks already titled. Commented Sr. Diaz:
"(The) project will be more thrash than all my work previously done with Vastator in the past, and all the art work will be done by Chaotic Kismit in USA. We are thinking on having the full length album ready by the end of the second half of 2013". Stream the new track "Midnight Train" from the upcoming "Meridian" EP below. Sannhet and Sacrament Music today post another brand new mantra from the instrumental post-metal trio’s pending debut album, "Known Flood." Experience the slow-building tension of “Still Breathing” via Cvlt Nation now. The following press release was issued about the track:
"Clocking in just under eight minutes long, 'Still Breathing' -- the expansive next-to-last track on 'Known Flood' and the longest song on Sannhet’s maiden LP -- surges with the band’s mesh of static-filled textures and organic/natural ebb-and-flow the band so expertly executes.
"A record release gala for Known Flood will take place February 22nd at Sacrament Music headquarters, Saint Vitus Bar. In addition to Sannhet, the lineup features Theologian and brethren Cleanteeth, in addition to headliners Deafhaven for an exclusive East Coast show. More...

The brainchild of guitarist/songwriter Steve Smyth (Nevermore, Forbidden, Dragonlord, Vicious Rumors), One Machine, is alive and kicking. One Machine boasts classic and modern influences, featuring a collection of international members carefully selected by Smyth: Mikkel Sandager (Mercenary) on vocals, Jamie Hunt (Biomechanical) sharing guitar duties, rounded out by a powerhouse rhythm section with Tomas “O’Beast” Koefoed (Mnemic) on bass guitar and Raphael Saini (Chaoswave) on drums.
One Machine just finished the recording process on a debut album, which is currently in the mixing stages. The band has already been offered European festival dates and expects to make a live debut this summer. Fans can check out a clip of the track "One Machine" right now through the player below.
Smyth had often given thought to leading his own band throughout his distinguished career as a member of bands including Testament, Nevermore, and Forbidden, amongst others. Smyth had written a number of songs, but the challenge of finding the right members to bring them to life remained.
He found a more than capable shredding second guitarist in Jamie Hunt, and the two began collaborating on the material Smyth had. “Jamie’s playing complements mine extremely well, and we hit it off perfectly when we got together to work on the songs,” says Smyth. More...

Legion of the Damned, which recently signed to Napalm Records, will record next full-length album "Ravenous Plague" with producer Andy Classen at the Stage One Studio.
Andy Classen previously produced Legion of the Damned's albums "Malevolent Rapture," "Sons of the Jackal," "Feel the Blade," and "Cult of the Dead." Only the last recorded album "Descent into Chaos" was produced by Peter Tägtgren in Sweden at the Abyss studio. Vocalist Maurice Swinkels explains:
"Peter was a super experience to us and it was a hell of a great time, for me it was a personal thing, I was curious to hear the result with a different producer other than Andy Classen, but the beating heart of Legion of the damned lies in Bühne, the home town of Stage One Studio in Germany."
The band has been composing new songs for more than a year now and will enter the studio in March, 2013. "Many of the successful albums of Legion of the damned were produced by Andy Classen and therefore we build such a strong team with him," drummer Erik Fleuren continues. "He can truly push us to our limits, and that's what we need." More...

"A huge thank you all of our families, friends, everyone at century media, our management & booking, all the bands we've toured with, but most of all, thank you to every single person that cared about The Devastated in some way shape or form.... it truly means the world to us!"

SEE YOU IN THE PIT!!!"
Evile has also just been confirmed for two festivals this summer - Belgium's SkullFest in June and the UK's Scarfest in August, where Evile will be headlining the Ashdown Stage. Evile bassist Joel Graham comments:

Multinational melodic metal act Eden's Curse is currently in the studio working on an as-yet-untitled fourth album, which is scheduled for worldwide release via AFM Records in late Summer 2013.
English drummer Pete Newdeck entered the studio in mid January and has now completed recordings on all fourteen tracks at Higher Studios in Tewkesbury. German virtuoso guitarist Thorsten Koehne began guitar recordings this weekend at COP Studio in Bielefeld, Germany.
Among the fourteen songs selected for recording are "Evil & Divine," "Break The Silence," "Unbreakable," "Great Unknown," and "Devil In Disguise."
Mixing duties will once be performed by the bands long time engineer, Pink Cream 69 and Unisonic bassist, Dennis Ward, whilst German graphic designer Thomas Ewerhard (Edguy, Avantasia, Jorn) completes the same winning team who worked on the bands previous album, 2011's "Trinity."
The fourth album will be the first to feature the band's new vocalist, who at this point has yet to be named. “The plan was never to rush this appointment,” states bassist Paul Logue, who further adds “Our aim is to find the best possible voice and personality for Eden's Curse. Getting to know these guys is a fun but slow process and we are extremely excited about the quality on show."

Spider Rockets has officially announced a new addition to the close-knit arachnoid family. Greg Manning has filled a permanent position with the group as bassist and back-up vocalist.
"Greg has been a long time friend of ours and was always a big fan of the band. He's also a seasoned vocalist, so he's able to blend nicely with my voice in harmonies, or pull off grittier leads like the male vocal parts in tracks like 'Gasoline.' And his hair speaks for itself," states lead singer, Helena Cos.
Spider Rockets will show off the new goods when the group debuts Greg (The Mane) Manning supporting Trapt at Monirae's in Pennellville, PA on Friday, February 8th at 8:00 pm. The band supports Trapt again February 10th in Clifton Park, New York, while breaking away Saturday, February 9th for a performance at Downtown Quarterback in Endicott, NY.
The latest Spider Rockets release, "Bitten," was named "Top 10 Hard Rock Album of 2012" by Metal Odyssey. For more details and show information, head over to the band's official website.
Switzerland’s maniacal grindcore death outfit Mumakil has completed the recording for a new LP, now bearing the confirmed title "Flies Will Starve," and set for release later in the year via Relapse Records. The following press release was issued about the album:
"Self-recorded at Terrier 5 Studio in Geneva, the Mumakil faction’s first album in four years will devastate grinders worldwide with twenty-four brand new tracks of wicked, precision grindcore with even more death metal persuasion than their previous full-length, Behold The Failure. Fans of Birdflesh, Misery Index, Antigama, Kill The Client and the like, get ready!"
Stated the band, upon entering the studio in September: “This will be our best album in terms of production, riff quality, variation and songwriting. It is going to be a great mix between everything we love in grindcore and death-metal with subjects like war, anger, pain, personal experiences and deceptions, and an overall theme about mankind's permanent will to destroy itself.”
Following an arsenal of releases since the band’s 2004 foundation, "Flies Will Starve" will be Mumakil’s third full-length and second for Relapse, not including a split with Inhume on the label’s cult Slimewave 7” series. The album’s street date and other new info will be made available in the coming weeks, including tours of Europe, Canada, and beyond in support of the album.
In the meantime, Europe is already doomed for a blastbeating this March, as Mumakil will rampage across the continent alongside Swedish grind allies Afgrund for over three weeks. Dates are as follows: More...
With less than two weeks remaining until the release of debut album "Fall to the Sun," Psychothermia is giving the public the chance to check out a new single from the upcoming album.
The San Diego based metallers have teamed up with Noisecreep for an exclusive world premiere of the track "Slash & Burn." Get a first listen to the song right here. The following press release was also issued about the album:
"No strangers to persistence and long hours in the studio, the guys in Psychothermia know what it means to take matters into their own hands. Fall To The Rising Sun was self-produced and recorded in the band's home studio (Control Volume Studios) as well as engineered by the band members themselves. With the exception of 'Anarchy', which was mixed by the notorious Fred Archambault (producer/engineer, Avenged Sevenfold), all the songs were mixed by guitarist Jon Russo. 'I'd wake up after 15 hours in the studio, with my ears hurting, and have to go in and do it again... all while working around my jobs,' says Jon. One cannot question their dedication.
"Prior to April, 2012, all four members performed together in a previous group (Canobliss). Together in this group they achieved such accolades as three nominations for San Diego Music Awards; opening performances for legends Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, Stone Sour, HellYeah, Biohazard, & more; as well as song placements on nearly 10 extreme sports and motorsports DVDs. They have already toured across much of the United States; with a fresh project and new album 'Fall To The Rising Sun' in their hands, Psychothermia is ready to catch the wind. The fire is real..." Absu today announces details on an upcoming tour, titled the "North American Connexus Conjuration." The 26-city tour will see the band perform two full sets with music spanning its entire 20-year recording career.
This is the first full tour by the Texas-based mythological occult trio since the release of "Abzu" (reviewed here), the second of a planned trilogy of recordings. Vocalist/drummer Proscriptor shares:
“Since the release of our latest recording, Abzu, the response has been extremely vehement and now is the perfect moment to commemorate the album’s essence throughout North America. We purposely waited until the timing was ideal to embark on this journey, as we shall contaminate the communities with our craft of Mythological Occult Metal. We’re attempting to divide the concerts into two sections: the first act will showcase songs spanning from our entire discography, as the second act will focus on Phase Two from the album Tara: The Cythrául Klan’s Scrutiny. For the past couple of years, many of ABSU’s followers have requested specified songs from this chapter of Tara, so it is our aspiration to give the people what they want.” More...
Massachusetts act Within the Ruins will be shooting two music videos for new tracks "Feeding Frenzy" and "New Holy War" this weekend to support a new record coming out next month. The band has tapped director Kevin J. Custer to take the helm. Guitarist Joe Cocchi adds his own comments:
"These two songs are the best representation of the new album as a whole. We chose a very melodic/groove oriented song (Feeding Frenzy) which is something this album has a lot more of. The other (New Holy War) displays our more familiar fast paced and to-the-point sound and lyrically focusing on religion.
"With Kevin's help we've come up with two pretty kick ass ideas. Two back to back days of shooting will require tremendous amounts of alcohol, so we are looking for a beer sponsor as well. Just kidding, but not really."
"Elite" will be released on February 26th, 2013 via eOne / Good Fight Music. The track listing is as follows:
3. Feeding Frenzy
4. New Holy War
5. The Charm
6. Ataxia II
8. I, Blashpheme
9. Absolute Hell

"With songs that range from relentless mid-tempo churns to subterranean crawls, Batillus cohere the extremes of heavy music into a surge of massive riffing, rolling over and descending on the listener with the force and intensity of a sudden storm. Concrete Sustain delivers six unforgettable tracks of chilling industrial doom."
The track listing is as follows:

Heaven Shall Burn, which hilariously lit up the Twitterverse a few years back when conservative Christians discovered the band existed, has just finished recording upcoming album "Veto." The album is scheduled to be released on the following dates:
Germany/Austria/Switzerland/Norway: April 19th, 2013
Rest of Europe: April 22nd, 2013
Australia / New Zealand / Finland: April 26th, 2013
USA/Canada: April 30th, 2013
Maik Weichert (guitar) comments on the album: "We cannot wait to play the album to people! It turned out very diverse, it's melodic, emotional and brutal at the same time. Several guests visited us in the studio for additional performances, so you can look forward to some interesting twists!"
Due to a recent event, Maik would like to share a first song title: "Just while finalizing the very last bits and pieces for 'VETO' we received the sad news that Walter Schilling passed away in Saalfeld on January 29th. Walter Schilling was a Protestant pastor and civil rights activist in the GDR (former East Germany). We have a new song called 'Antagonized' that is about him, his life and his work in Thuringia.
"It might seem odd that a band called Heaven Shall Burn is dedicating a song to a man of the church. Still, Schilling was never into clerical dogmas. Instead he encouraged and helped teenagers to pursue new and alternative cultural ideas under the protective shield of his church and youth centre in Braunsdorf near Saalfeld. Without Walter Schilling a huge part of the youth culture and music in Thuringia wouldn't have happened - this probably goes for the GDR in general. No matter if you liked Blues, played Punk or Metal, every single person was welcome in Braunsdorf, Saalfeld, Rudolstadt or Jena. Schilling helped establishing what enabled HSB to play music, because most of the clubs and musicians that supported us in our very early days were directly or indirectly involved with Schilling's work. You will not find many theologians of Walter's kind." More...
