Self-described "unconventional doom/grindcore" band The Way Of Purity has signed to Worm Hole Death for the release of their debut album titled "Crosscore." The album is currently being mixed by Chris Donaldson (The Agonist, Cryptopsy) right now.
The band stated: "The Way Of Purity doesn't show off with smart or cool band members. No names, no fancy photos, no effigy, no trendy musical influences and no nationality. No compromise, no way to talk or get to know us - we are the fucking NOTHING.
"Most militant bands in the past reached a superior level of strength through their message and faith. The Way Of Purity is different. The message about God intended as nature (animals and the perfection of their creation) is our faith, but the power for The Way Of Purity is a high level of inspiration, self control, and correction of human errors through the inspiration of the animal perfection.
"We are the hand of God, we're here to bring the animals' message to liars, weak individuals, prostitutes, drug addicts, nymphomaniacs and many more. We are not an organisation, we are just a potential event in every animal's life. The Way Of Purity is inspired by a blind and extremely dark dimension where Christ and Satan, evil and good, are the same. This ultraviolent dimension takes shape in the music. The voices we hear everyday are our nightmares and dreams. These voices asked us to change things, giving us the chance of salvation by becoming the hand of God and finding the real way of purity.
"Welcome to the precarious balance and the ancient code of the Way of Purity, that might hold the key to salvation..."

Front man Mikael Akerfeldt of Opeth has issued the following update about recording the song "The Throat of Winter" for the video game:
"I just finished and approved the mastering of a new song I wrote called ‘The throat of Winter’. I wrote it for that game, ‘God of war’ that we're supposed to be included in, or however that works. Is it a digital album? I don't know how that shit works, but it's done anyways. Hell, I'm still with my turntables (got 3 of them) and right now I'm playing a Aussie original of ‘High voltage’ by AC/DC.
"Song is very odd, it's good I think, or for my taste it is, but even I can understand it's very....odd! Produced and recorded it from scratch and I'm happy with the sound if I may say so myself. Fred laid down a killer acoustic solo and Per laid down an amazing twiddly tweet moog solo. It's not a very metal song, I'm saving up for that..later.....yet it's got a metal ‘mentality’, or what I remember metal used to do to me. I can feel it, even though it's not a ‘metal’ song per definition. Anyways, if you hear it I hope you like it. More...

These tours will consist of a circular pattern stretching as far south as Salt Lake City. Our hometown continues to be a struggle for local shows, so we have our focus set on shows anywhere but here! While continuing to break out of Kalispell for exposure, we are continuing to write new material with plans of a 4th album due out in early 2011.
"A big thank you goes out to all who continue support Vengeance! If everything works out as planned this year, we will be able to purchase an RV to be able to travel more often and play more out of town shows. Any assistance/donations towards this purchase is much appreciated and will be compensated from yours truly. We have just begun to break out and it's only gonna get more frequent! HORNS HIGH!"

For the first time in almost two years, Arch Enemy made their way to the United States to cause devastation using blistering melodic death metal. Touring in support of “The Root Of All Evil,” which included re-recorded Arch Enemy songs from the band’s first three albums, the band made their presence known at the Theatre Of Living Arts in Philadelphia on January 21st.
