"Norwegian brutal Death Metallers THE SICKENING have inked a 2-album deal with XTREEM MUSIC. The band, featuring ex-BLOOD RED THRONE's drummer Beist, is heralding the flag of new wave of Norwegian brutal Death with a style that's heavily influenced by bands like SUFFOCATION, PYREXIA & CANNIBAL CORPSE with more modern touches in the vein of KATAPLEXIA, DISAVOWED, INVERACITY... no groovy slamming stuff, just straight forward brutal Death!!
"Their debut album, tentatively named "Death, Devastation, Decay!" is already recorded and currently being mastered in Sweden by the infamous Deathmaster Dan Swäno. 11 songs of relentless and brutal-as-fuck Death Metal including a cover of CANNIBAL CORPSE's "Hammer Smashed Face" in a way more brutal and bizarre style will be included on this debut opus that will undoubtely put THE SICKENING in the map of the current brutal Death Metal scene.

Lotsa geeky post-midnite obscure bands talk coming up...
"We've got a nice setlist cooking so I hope you'll come and see us once again. We'll "rokk youuuu like a hurrikkkanne"!! NP: Funkadelic debut Lp (on repeat)

Anything else??.....noooo....that's it for now!"

Rolling Stone has previewed Lamb of God's upcoming full-length album, "Wrath," going in depth and talking to the band about some of the songs in particular. Here's an excerpt:
“We were learning more about what we would do differently next time than about what we could do with that record,” [Chris] Adler said. “The goal for me this time was to make a straight-up, heavy metal, thrash record that doesn’t rely on any studio magic.”
Regarding the album’s closing track and the longest in the band’s career, “Reclamation,” Rolling Stone calls it "progressive and downright apocalyptic." The song, which Blythe cites as his favorite on the album, was originally slated to be an instrumental.
“It’s about how we’re destroying ourselves and the world around us, and that sooner or later, the tipping point will be reached,” Adler said. “The message in that song is just so great that it was really important to have that on the record.”
Wrath is due out on February 24th on Epic Records.

Finnish metallers CHILDREN OF BODOM will team up with Florida death metal legends CANNIBAL CORPSE for a European tour that is scheduled to kick off tonight (Friday, January 30) in Berlin, Germany.
CHILDREN OF BODOM bassist Henkka Seppälä (a.k.a. Henkka T. Blacksmith) has posted the following update on his band's web site:
"The tour starts tomorrow. We will play Berlin first and then do some German dates before we start going south. Switzerland, Hungary, Austria, Italy...
"We are excited about playing with CANNIBAL CORPSE. 'Eaten Back to Life' was one the first metal albums I bought. It impressed me. I saw them live in Helsinki couple of years ago and it was great. It feels weird playing after this legendary act. I admit it. And I m sure many people think it's wrong. I do hope that CANNIBAL fans will show up anyway to see the shows.
"We haven't headlined Europe since 'Are You Dead Yet?' tour, and it's been too long. Usually we've played also Spain, and especially Barcelona has been always awesome for us. This tour won't go to Spain, and I think it's sad, but I do hope we get to play in Spain in summer later on!! So we will play many places in Europe, and then end this thing in Finland, first Helsinki and then Seinäjoki."
Former NIGHTWISH singer Tarja Turunen has set "What Lies Beneath" as the working title of her new solo album, tentatively due before the end of the year. She says, "With [2007's] 'My Winter Storm', I chose the name of the album in the early stages and that helped me to create the concept for the album. With the new album, I decided to do it the same way, so I searched for an inspiring title and all the songs are one way or another related to it."
Regarding the songwriting process for the new CD, Turunen says, "In the last months I've been writing a lot of music for my new album. Songwriting is always an amazing learning experience, and it has been a pleasure to discuss music with different people.
"The album process is still going on and I have more songs that are in the working. It is sounding very promising. The songs are absolutely more mature, wild, and emotional and they sound more me, if I can say so.
"The biggest difference in preparing this new album is that I will be taking the time that I need until the songs are in a shape that I am happy with. No matter how long it takes. I want it to be perfect for me. No hurry; no pressure."
