Minnesota-based metalcore heavyweights Martyr AD have completed work on their highly anticipated new album "On Earth As It Is In Hell". The album, which was recorded at Oarfin Studios in Minneapolis, is due out on April 20th through Victory Records. The band recently recruited ex-Holding On drummer Karl Hensel and vocalist Andrew Hart to solidify their lineup.

From Beyond Productions have signed Malaysian cult black metal warriors Bazzah and will release their second full length album "Kingdom of the dead" this summer. Both the ultra rare debut full length (only 300 CD copies locally released in the late nineties) as well as the later recorded second full length (locally only released on limited cassette) will be issued as a lengthy CD in the summer of 2004, with artwork by Ereshkigal (see also Thornspawn, Inquisition and Surrender of Divinity).
BLACK-SABBATH.com reports that TONY IOMMI intends to release what's commonly known as the "Eighth Star Bootleg" - this material was recorded back in 1996 for what was then to be Tony Iommi's first official solo album - the recording features performances by vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Black Sabbath), keyboardist Don Airey (Ozzy, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple) and drummer Dave Holland (Judas Priest).
SOLITUDE AETURNUS have been confirmed for the Classic Metal Fest 4, set to be held May 13-15 at JJ Kelley's in Bernice Lansing, Illinois.

Death, Slipknot and Hypocrisy members take part in C. Schuldiner tribute album. James Murphy (Death) is currently working on a project album entitled 'Within The Mind: an homage to the musical legacy of Chuck Schuldiner'. Set for release on MASCOT RECORDS in June 2004 'Within The Mind' is a tribute to one of the most influential bands ever in the history of Metal and it will feature members of Death, Slipknot, Testament, Hypocrisy, Malevolent Creation and more. So far this is the confirmed list of musicians involved in the project: James Murphy (ex Death), Darren Miller (CKY), Paul Gray (Slipknot), Mikael Thomson (Slipknot), Bret Hoffmann (Malevolent Creation), Dave Culross (Malevolent Creation/Suffocation), Ross Dolan (Immolation), Peter Tagtren (Hypocrisy), Mike Chlasciak (Halford), Terry Butler (Death, Massacre, Six Feet Under), Chuck Billy and Eric Peterson (Testament), Ryan and Chad (Mudvayne).

According to a segment aired on MTV during their "news" segment today, DAMAGEPLAN are in talks with DROWNING POOL about hitting the road together later this year. No dates or other confirmations have been made yet.

The tracks can only be listened to through the Flash popup, and can't be downloaded. Walls Of Jericho's new album, "All Hail The Dead", is due out on February 24 through Trustkill Records. The band will be heading out on tour with God Forbid and Blood Has Been Shed in late February
The week is almost over, but what the hell. I forgot to mention that I saw Helmet's latest 'Unsung: The Best Of Helmet 1991-1997' CD is on sale at Best Buy (online and in-store) for a low $7.99. It's not a bad deal for twenty something tracks on it. Just the first few old ones sound...well really old and thin. The rest are good though. The sale lasts through Saturday.
DREAM THEATER have added late March dates in Washington and Hartford to their previously announced US tour schedule.

According to DESTRUCTION’s official website, the band will hold a DVD release party on February 12th at the Atlantis House Of Rock (www.atlantishouseofrock.de) in Herboldsheim, Germany (near Freiburg).
Destruction will perform a full “Best Of Twenty Years” live set including all of the band’s classic and new anthems. There will also be contests, a DVD preview, a signing session and a lot of booze.
The release of the band’s forthcoming DVD "Live Discharge -20 Years Of Total Destruction", has been postponed until March 8th because of too much material and a tight deadline.

According to AMON AMARTH’s official website, the band will travel to Reykjavik, Iceland for two shows in March. This will be the band’s first visit to Iceland.
The guys will enter the studio in mid-May to begin work on the follow-up to their last album "Versus The World".
